It starts engines and itโs handy for camping
Iโve had this for a couple of years now so have had chance to use it now and again. It started my wifeโs (1.4L petrol) engine immediately when the car battery went flat, and again the next day, without a recharge in between. I had less luck trying to start the 2L petrol on a Mazda I had SORNed for two years during the pandemic - but it turned out the battery on that was completely gone (along with the bodywork of the car, sadly). So it definitely works for jump starts but itโs not going to provide you with a miracle. I have also taken this battery on a few camping trips. Its solid, rugged design makes it much better suited to tent life than are those slim portable batteries designed for business trips. It also has a decent torch built-in, and you can never have too many of them when youโre camping. Iโd estimate it can recharge a modern iPhone from almost dead to full approx three times along with occasional use as a torch - so it can supply a family for a night or two, provided the kids are round the campfire not hiding in the tents on their iPads. You probably wouldnโt want to use it heavily for camping, as like any battery it may degrade to the point where the primary car start function fails, but itโs a nice bonus. Iโm pleased with this purchase. Itโs a handy device to keep in the boot of your car at all times and has the bonus capability of providing battery power outdoors. Even if you have other cars around, itโs easier to use this than traditional jump leads: you donโt need to move two cars close enough for the jump leads to reach, or open two car bonnets.

Peace of Mind if your Battery Flat
Good item to have if your car battery goes flat - I have used twice with no problems & it started my car first time - Booster is Portable & Easy to Store in car - Quick & Easy to use - Easy to recharge via USB in car or indoors (while Booster comes with a USB charge lead, make sure it fits your charging ports - I have older car & had to use different USB lead - But it worked fine - Newer cars be ok) - Item delivered quickly & safely packaged - Highly Recommend if you'd like peace of mind in the event of a flat battery...!

Brilliant device but short cables
I bought this after quite a bit of research and I am very pleased with it. I used it to start my Hybrid Toyota Yaris and it provided the power instantly. Great. It also appears to be very strongly built and is easy to use. My only issue is that for Hybrid vehicle starting the positive connector attaches to a specific connector in a fuse box right at one side of the engine bay, and the negative attachment needs to go to the engine or other connected component. Even in the Yaris, the engine is very marginally too far away. I DID find a sopt (obvioulsy as it worked a treat) but the cables are designed o fit across a battery terminal and not across an engine bay. There aren't any NOCO extension leads either, so in my other car I guess I'll just have to extend the earth from the GB40 to the car via another charger cable clamped together. Hence 4 stars.

Works and will save you a call out someday
This really saves a call out, time and probably money. I just had to use this on a Rav4 hybrid. Worked a little bit differently, in that there is no negative battery terminal (not visible or reachable anyway) and so in that case you connect the black cable to a bolt to earth it. Car instantly came to life. Great tool to have in your car, small, light and compact too. But depending on your car... don't leave it in the boot storage like I did, because the boot door wouldn't open, and I had to crawl over the back seat and do all kinds of yoga to retrieve it. Leaving it under the seat from now on!

Not great...
I bought this to replace a 6 year old, 500A, ยฃ45, no-name brand USB jump starter that was still starting the engine first time but only giving me 2 jump starts before needing to be charged, when it previously managed around 10 jumps. Decided to go for Noco as they are so highly rated but should have listened to the bad reviews.... I got the pack fully charged and tried it out on my 2.0L Diesel which regularly goes flat as something drains the battery and it fails to start if not driven every day- really should get it sorted! The Noco failed to start the car twice in normal mode so I turned on the Boost/override mode. This just about got it started but sounded like it struggled. (I waited about 30 seconds each time before starting the car) When I disconnected the charger I noticed it was almost flat with the red light showing, which was quite surprising as it says up to 20 uses between charges. I re-charged the Noco and tried again 2 days later. It took 2 attempts in normal mode this time and drained the pack to 50%. While the Noco did manage to start my car, I am disappointed with the performance and capacity. No idea how anybody could get 20 jump starts out of this and I really doubt the 1000A claims as my old 500A pack started the engine much faster and more reliably- while also lasting much longer! I did research the Noco jump starters before buying and decided on this GB40 pack over the GBX range as the GB(non X) ones are supposed to hold charge longer and give more jumps per charge, so I would definately not recommend the GBX either based off this experience. The GB40 has also been updated/refreshed but the Amazon listing has some conflicting info- I received the new version which includes a USB-C in/out port and a USB-A out port but no 12V lighter socket port or attachment. It also includes a thin fabric carry pouch (useless), a USB-C to C cable (no charging plug included) and the jump leads, which are short but were fine for me. The older version has 2 USB-A ports (1 in/out the other just output), a USB-A to A cable and a 12V lighter socket charger. The USB-C input is 5V 2.1A so no fast charger needed, pretty much any USB capable of charging will support this nowadays. Battery says it is 24Wh. If charging a phone from the USB port @ 5V 2.1A this would give 4800mAh but you would lose some of that as it wouldn't be 100% efficient so not enough to give a full charge on most modern phones. The jump leads seem high quality and have a strong grip. Connecting the leads to the power pack is not as easy as with other jump starters- have to push it quite hard to get it in, and it is not super clear which way round it is supposed to go in as the hole/plug is round-ish with no obvious markings- you have to look at the shape of the terminals inside the plug and socket and match them up (one is round, the other square). Unfortunately the jump starter I was previously using is no longer being sold so I will have to return the Noco and give another brand a try.

Worked fine with 2.0 litre petrol
Please note: this review is based on about 1 week of ownership, so does not related to long term sturdiness or performance. Bought this after surveying all the various options and although there are some cheaper, it seemed like this combined the right capacity, additional safety features and clear design for the purpose. (Some cheaper items look like re-purposed phone battery banks, so I was sceptical how good they would be). My car battery suffered a fairly deep discharge during first covid lockdown and although usable, has never really been the same since. It's a heavy duty stop-start battery on a 2.0 Litre petrol. It's had to be charged a couple of times after standing and failing to start the car, and latterly has been showing signs of draining and failing to start the car after just a few days sitting not being used. So, i bought this as a "get of out jail" - especially if I drive somewhere and then the car won't start to come home. I've already had to use it, and I'm pleased to say that after connecting it up, waiting about 20 seconds to go round and get in the car and start it, it started first time. It would be useful if it displayed voltage when attached, then you could assess just how discharged the car battery is, but that's a minor niggle. For example, I don't know if my battery was just under 11v and the car electronics were deliberately preventing it starting, or whether it was much lower. It's really simple to use and the cables, though short, reach fine from the + terminal of the car battery to the -ve post on the engine wall - without anything dangling into the engine bay at risk of getting caught up. I was also impressed with how quickly it charged up. After receipt, and although showing empty, it only took a few hours plugged into a regular 2amp USB socket on my wall to get it fully charged. Then after starting the car a few days later, I simply plugged it into the USB in the car itself while driving and by my destination, it was fully charged up again ready to be used. (A bit "belt and braces" on my part, as after one start, the device was still showing green for the amount of charge left in it) It actually feels fairly sturdy and easy to grip and hold without slipping (more than can be said for some power bank chargers). Obviously I'm not going to deliberately drop it to see if it smashes open or not :) but it seems perfectly fit for purpose. All in all, i'm very pleased with it and the extra piece of mind it gives until I replace my car battery.
