So much fun. Great game for picking up how to play fast but is enjoyable even if you have played it a few times. Best with 3 or 4 players. Love the fact you get reusable colour coded bags to keep the pieces in. The pieces are nice to play with- they look pretty and feel nice. Great quality and doesn’t take up loads of space.

This game is SO good!!! Honestly it is so simple but great fun. I have seen some reviews saying you can’t play with 2 people- you can! you have to be clever and strategic to block your opponent. It’s a great game for the family to play, doesn’t take long at all but very engaging and helps build tactic and strategy in children and thinking outside of the box. We LOVE this game and will be buying them as gifts for people.

Excellent concept for all ages. At a high level each player has the same shapes. The purpose of the game is to place as many shapes as possible. The winner is whomever has got the fewest left. Each player plays in turn starting from their own corner. You can only play if your shape joins a shape you played previously by its corner (as shown on the picture). Sounds simple ? Well not quite, very quickly the board becomes very crowded, and the skill is to put your shapes down so as to allow "a passage" through your opponents' shapes. The game can be played between 2 to 4 player (if fewer than 4 players participate, you either own 2 colours each (2 players), or play in turn the 4th colour (3 players) making it an even more strategic game when placing the 3rd colour !) This game can be adapted for all levels. As adults, it can become really competitive and you need to think very carefully your next move, to strike the right balance between blocking your opponents and developing your own game. We also played with our 4 year old who enjoys turning shapes around to work out which one to play next and where to put it down, giving him a better understanding of "space awareness". All in all a truly great game. We do enjoy playing a lot of games, and I must say this is one of the better ones I have seen ! Quite impressed overall. The shapes are in coloured plastic, so is the board game (white plastic). Initially I was slightly concerned by it (I am usually leaning towards more traditionally made wooden board games), but they seem well made, solid enough. No complaint in the end. Well worth it. Update: January 2016. Game still holding up (so really good quality !). The family still loves it. Excellent, highly recommended. Can be adapted for all ages ....

My 8yrs old daughter and her grandparents played this together. It’s easy to learn and everyone had a lot of fun. Perfect for family game night.

This is a great game, with easy to learn rules but with every game being different. No luck, just strategy and other players' blocking at play. I've only dropped a star as the box is as unpractical as could be, and hardly keeps the game pieces in..

I ordered this for my husband as an additional gift with no real recommendations or previous knowledge but thought the price point was good and he has previous love of Tetris which I thought this resembled. We love games and are into strategy games and games that are varying with multiple strategies and avenues to win. We also have a small child who loves games so are very into family games at the same time. Blokus ticks both of these categories. It is easy to learn and play but allows for varying strategies and ability levels to play together. It’s a game that requires some thought but not difficult enough to exclude most ages. Our son is just 6 and understands this game thoroughly and has genuinely beat us a few times! Unexpectedly a new family favourite and I would highly recommend. Note that 4 player max unless you want to go into teams! If you have less than 4 players you take turns playing for the ‘non player’ as that corner cannot be left blank as this would give the players beside it an unfair advantage of additional space.

Great fun, enough depth and strategy to keep it interesting and well-made, tactile playing pieces. Well worth the money.
