Nursing & Health Survival Guide: Medical Abbreviations & Normal Ranges

This literally lives in my uniform pocket. It has been so beneficial in assisting me with some of the terms used by heslthcare professionals in hospital settings. I did not use this while on community placement because everything was already simpler to understand. It just about fits in the palm of my hand and has waterproof pages. Most importantly it is decently priced so don't hesitate to buy it!

As a first year student nurse about to go into clinical practice, I decided to start purchasing books that will help me on my journey. This book is tiny and will easily fit in your uniform pocket, it's easy to read and to the point. It's a 'wipe clean' book so it is nice knowing if you ever got any dirt on it that you can easily wipe it off. The book is a must, it's easy to use and will help you during practice when you are learning and unsure about abbreviations or normal ranges. I personally would recommend this book! Hope this helps.

Handy little book to keep in your pocket when you first start your placement. I often found there were abbreviations on the handover sheets that I wasn't 100% sure of but felt silly asking about. This book has allowed me to check what they mean and I have on more than one occasion now been able to explain something to a more senior colleague thanks to this book. The section on normal ranges is useful for when completing patient observations and checking if they outside the norm. You'll soon find that you memorize the ranges you use the most.

Brilliant little pocket book with basic information, great for gaining a starting point in the subject or for a refresh of the subject. Well written and well made.

I was expecting a much larger book and to my surprise the booklet is smaller like under five ins. in size. Afterwards inspecting the product decided this book would be invaluable item to add to my study aids. The book has the most use abbreviations used in healthcare and other pertinent information one can carry in the pocket. The product arrived quickly to my home .
