Well made, steel sharpens well and keeps its edge well.Really useful for small spindle turned items where it’s small size gets into tight curves

Arrived well before the predicted date. Well packed in a huge box.Problem is that even though the label says roughing out gouge it describes it's use as 'to scoop out and cut deep U grooves in spindle turning and making holes' and it looks like an 8mm spindle gouge (made from round bar stock with a shallow flute) and not a roughing gouge made from forged flat stock as in the picture on Amazon.I shall be keeping it as it's a good price for a spindle gouge of this size and seems well made with a fingernail profile.I don't know whether it was packaged wrongly or it's use is not appreciated correctly by the importer/supplier.

Good size. Generally good grind from delivery but I did need to sharpen quite quickly.
