Another great product from Taylor of Old Bond Street
No matter which Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream I buy, I find that the quality is always great. They have hit the spot yet again with their Taylors of Old Bond Street Shaving Cream (150g, Jermyn Street) . According to the tub, the Jermyn Street cream is designed for sensitive skin, and I have indeed noticed that the lather tends to be a little bit thicker than the other TOBS creams. You can always compensate with a touch more water if you prefer your lather to be a little bit thinner. The lather develops really quickly and you only need a little bit on the tips of the brush. The lather is nice and dense, doesn't dry out quickly, and it gives a nice comfortable shave. The razor just glides across the skin. I use an alum block after I shave, which tends to highlight any areas that are perhaps a little bit raw (usually on my neck) - but after shaving with the Jermyn Street cream there is no feedback whatsoever from the alum block. Not even the slightest nip. So it is certainly good at cushioning and protecting the skin during the shave. The scent is also really nice. I find it a bit more subtle compared to the other TOBS creams. It doesn't really last for any length of time after the shave, but for me this is not a problem. I always use aftershave balm in any case. If you have an aftershave of a different scent, then you will be able to use it after the Jermyn Street cream without any problem - it is subtle enough that it won't clash. I tend to use sandalwood aftershave gel (from TOBS), and the Jermyn Street cream compliments it nicely. The packaging is the usual TOBS affair with a screw top plastic pot. I find that the black colour of the pot gives it an air of sophistication as it sits in the bathroom. I like the TOBS pots because, once they are empty, I tend to use them as a lathering bowl - just the right size and works great. So, in summary, the Jermyn Street shaving cream is a great product that I highly recommend.

Great smell and generous lather for a smooth shave
This is an old traditional style shaving cream that I have used for many years, a gift at Christmas from my daughter reminded me just how good a shave this provides with a generous lather and a great smell. This is a replacement for the now expired Xmas gift so six months daily shaving is more than reasonable. Great quality and another classic gentleman’s grooming product from Taylor’s

Good Stuff
Being sensitive to shaving, i have tried many shaving creams and oils over many years,, none of which come close to the comfortable shave that this stuff helps you achieve, I can use the same blade for many more shaves, when in the past I would probably have had four to six shaves with the one blade, Using the cream takes a little more effort than the convenience of a spray can, I find that applying is best done with a brush, I use the inside of the lid to mix approx a sugar lump size, blob of cream, dip the brush in to very hot water and work the cream in to a lather, applying, when I think it ready, not too runny or thick, While preparing the shaving the shaving cream, I keep a warm damp cloth pressed on to the areas to be shaved, Using this system really has been kind to my face, under the chin and neck especially, I also get a lot more blade usage miles which offsets the expense, , I can with no reservation, recommend Jermyn Street Collection for Sensitive Skin, to any one looking for a close, smooth, comfortable shave, Go for it, as they say, you are worth it

It really works
The shaving cream gives a decent amount of foam after using the brush. It doesn’t give a dry sticky clog that other shaving soaps have. Had a good shave using product.

Rich, creamy, and awesome.
I am new to safety razor shaving. My interest in it started at the drug store, when a really nice looking $15 wooden shaving brush caught my eye. I purchased Proraso shaving soap for sensitive skin. I liked the scent of the Proraso, but I found no matter how I mixed it, I ended up with very thin shave cream. I found that adding water made the cream too foamy and runny, and with less water, the coating on my face was thin and transparent. I watched several Youtube videos on lathering to "brush up" on my technique, and then finally I thought I'd try another shave cream before investing in a $50 shave brush. After pouring over reviews, I ordered Taylor of Old Bond Street Jermyn Street Shaving Cream Bowl for Sensitive Skin, not even realizing at that point the difference between a shaving soap and shaving cream. Taylor of Old Bond Street seems to be a gold standard of both. The price was very reasonable. Out of the box, I was very impressed with the construction of the plastic housing. It is a heavy plastic and substantial, one that can certainly be reused with soap refills and for travel. Uncapped, the shave cream is soft. It isn't a hard bar of soap, but rather a cream, with a stiff toothpaste-like consistency. I immediately noticed a difference with lathering - shaving creams are much easier to prepare than shaving soaps. The resultant product mixed was creamy and lathery. I am somewhat of a scent-phobe. I am very sensitive to smell, and I resent it when people pour on cologne or perfume, and leave the elevator smelling like a department store. I much prefer an odourless product. For instance, the aftershave I use is a simple white unscentend lotion by Lubriderm. As such, it was a bit of a gamble ordering this product online without being able to smell it first. The product smell is not overpowering, and has a sweet, almost spicy almond-like fragrance. I liked it so much, I looked up the description on the Taylor of Old Bond Street description: "A modern fresh fougere fragrance with bergamot, lemon, lime and lavender supported by a heart of geranium, neroli and amber resting on a substantive base of musk, patchouli and vanilla. An allergen free fragrance which contains Patchouli oil." I'm addicted. The lather provides reasonable glide. I'm still nicking myself, but with practice I'm getting better. I apply it to shave down, and then re-apply to shave up with my safety razor. Then, a styptic pencil cleans up the red spots. I don't rate 5 stars lightly - this was money very well spent. I have a new favourite! Probably the best advice I could give anyone reading this review is that especially if you are just learning about lathering or trying to find a new favourite, don't throw out or give away any of your shaving creams - hang onto them. There is an element of technique involved that refines over time, and each soap has a bit of a learning curve. Just because you don't get a good lather now, doesn't mean you won't get one later. Also, even when you find "the one", you might get tired of the scent after months of shaving with it and need a break. So it's nice to have options around.

A QUALITY PRODUCT
A VERY TINY AMOUNT OF CREAM WILL BUILD UP INTO FULL LATHER AND GIVE AN EXCELLENT SHAVE. SO IT IS COST EFFECTIVE. THE FRAGRANCE IS JUST THE RIGHT POTENCY AND FLAVOUR. I RECEIVED 150 GRAMS OF SHAVING CREAM AS SPECIFIED ON THE PRODUCT LABEL.

Absolut empfehlenswert.
