The steel filter is removable, but then you have a pretty big hole underneath it... I wouldn't recommend making coffee like that. But what I do is put filter paper inside the steel filter, and that works fine.

Is there a warming sleeve for this product

There may be one available separately but it was not supplied with the product when I bought it. A collar is supplied so as to be able to pour without burning oneself. I use oven gloves wrapped around the pot, which helps to keep the coffee warm.

Does the the glass jug has any plastic on the inside?

This.doesn't have plastic inside. The glass is thin like lab equipment and tough like pyrex. It does have a plastic collar which can be removed. Also there is a permanent filter which is replaced by a small lid once your coffee is ready. We've had ours a while now and prefer it to a french press. Hope this helps.
