It is one of the few things you can buy that actually work
TLDR: Makes all the numbers better. Because there is less energy being wasted due to friction. Gives engine oil a physical ceramic lubricant and a chemically bonded layer to all metal parts the oil touches, making the engine run with less wear and friction, saving a bit of fuel and repair bills. I have heard a LIQUI MOLY representative say that if you change your oil with Cera Tec then you can go 30,000 miles before the next oil change......................Maybe technically it is possible, but please no one do this. Change your oil every year or more if you do loads of miles. Update: I have put this in my new petrol hybrid. Small put noticeable mpg improvement. Noise reduction is more noticeable, especially at low and cruising RPMs. As the engine cuts in and out constantly due to hybrid system, the chemically bonded layer of lubrication definitely helps with the advanced stop start system. As there is always a layer of lubrication before the oil circulates. Peace of mind knowing that I have additional protection in winter and with short journeys. I had to buy something to suck out some of the oil before I added Cera Tec. The service was due in 4 months so I didn't want to bother changing it myself. Service has to be done by a dealer to maintain warranty, but you can change it yourself between that if you want. I don't put enough miles on it to justify a 6 month oil change. When they change the oil at the dealer I will lose the ceramic physical part, but the chemically bonded layer will still be there and lasts about 30,000 miles. I will put MoS2 in when they change the oil to bring back the physical part. I put this in my older diesel and a petrol car. I also did an engine flush in both. For best results do it with an oil change, do it yourself or get it done for you and then add it. My car needs 4.5l of oil Cera Tec takes up 0.3 so I put in 4.2l of oil and then Cera Tec. Pro tip, when you have poured in the bottle, put some oil the bottle and shake to get the most out of the bottle and in your engine. How it works: There are 2 parts to it. The first is the "physical" lubricant element which is ceramic based hence the name. LIQUI MOLY also sell M0s2 which is a physical particulate lubricant, but Cera Tec is more advanced and modern. Think of the physical element as another layer of lubricity that rides in the oil film so you have 2 layers of protection between the metal parts of your engine. Castrol use liquid titanium as their physical part in their oil to improve lubrication but the concentrations are not as high as a dedicated oil additive. This part works as soon as you put it in with the oil. The ceramic physical part also helps a lot with reducing the heat degradation of the oil. Ceramic has great thermal properties and this will keep the oil film at its best for longer. The second and more important, unique and noticeable part is the "chemical element." Cera Tec has a chemical that will bond to the metal components of the engine that the oil touches, leaving a bonded layer of lubrication that will last up to 30,000 miles. Meaning you have 3 layers of lubrication in the engine instead of just the oil film which degrades over time and usage. The chemical part takes about 500 miles of driving to work as it needs heat and pressure to form on the metal surfaces. You can probably speed this up with a few motorway trips at mid RPMs. Once it has, you will notice the difference!!! Here is what I have noticed: 5mpg improvement. Most people find a 1-2% improvement in fuel economy which over 10,000 miles a year adds up! Cold starts sound a lot better. It helps reduce engine wear from short journeys. Power delivery is smoother and the car feels happier to rev. It has made my diesel so much quieter, I would even suggest buying this just to help with the "diesel tapping" sound. The engine just sounds better and is so much quieter at lower cruising revs. Engine start up is much smoother and quieter as there is a layer of lubrication at all times even before the oil starts to circulate. This may help prolong starter motors as well as it can crank the engine with less effort at cold start up. If you had a fast car that can take corners at speed your engine could experience temporary oil starvation which can cause a lot of damage, but with Cera Tec, you have that bonded layer of lubrication to save the engine in rare circumstances like this. When you change your oil next you will lose the physical ceramic lubricant, but the chemical layers lasts for 30,000 miles. So just buy LIQUI MOLY M0s2 for the 2 oil changes after Cera Tec to bring back the physical part. Remember don't buy Cera Tec for every oil change!!!! Or your wallet will hurt. Use Cera Tec once and then the next 2 oil changes should be done with M0s2 and then back to Cera Tec for the 4th. (If you change oil every 10,000 miles and or once a year) Change your oil just before winter and use Cera Tec, your engine will thank you. Remember it will take about 500 miles of driving to experience full benefits. Worth every penny.

Excellent product which works well as advertised
This is one of the few products that consistently works well for me. I've used it in multiple vehicles over several years, including two diesel cars and two petrol-hybrid engines, and it's had a positive impact on them all. Takes about few hundred miles for its impact to be fully noticeable. In both diesel cars, Idle became smoother and quieter, less hesitant and smoother acceleration and increased mpg. The effects seem to be even better on the Toyota hybrid engines. These engines go on and off a LOT of times as the system switches between battery power and engine. After application, engine seem more alert, switching on and off much for eagerly and easily. I don't think this is a wonder product by any means. It simply does what the manufacturer claims it will do. It's not going to cure a neglected engine. It will supplement a well looked after car. It helps decrease friction between metal parts in the engine. Imagine lubing door hinges. Will be buying again.

Noticeable measurable positive effect. Very good.
I have a 40k miles Mercedes SLC 2.1d. Which seemed to have the usual diesel clatter at idle especially when cold. I've now used the treatment. Best mpg before 60.1, best achieved now 61.3. Normal coolant temperature 91.2c, now 89.4c. Noise levels and vibration feel to have reduced considerably especially at cold and idle. It's definately had positive effects all round. As for power increase it is too difficult to measure accurately. Car seems much smoother at low speeds especially when coming off the accelerator. I've also noted engine breaking 'drag' has reduced considerably. I am a registered incorporated propulsion engineer with 40 yrs experience so understand this level of engineering. A definately win! Would highly recommend.

LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec 3721
LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec 3721 is a popular ceramic-based engine oil additive designed to provide wear and tear protection for both petrol and diesel engines. Hereโs an in-depth review based on personal use, expert opinions, and user feedback: Composition and Purpose Cera Tec is formulated with ceramic compounds that are intended to reduce friction and wear inside the engine. The primary aim is to protect engine components, extend engine life, and improve overall engine performance. Key Claims and Benefits Wear Protection: Cera Tec is advertised to form a protective layer on metal surfaces within the engine, reducing metal-to-metal contact and, consequently, wear. Friction Reduction: By minimizing friction, Cera Tec aims to improve engine efficiency and potentially enhance fuel economy. Temperature Resistance: The ceramic particles in the additive are designed to withstand high temperatures, ensuring the protective layer remains effective even under extreme conditions. Noise Reduction: Users often report a reduction in engine noise, which can be a sign of reduced friction and smoother operation. Application and Use Cera Tec is compatible with all commercially available oils and can be used in both petrol and diesel engines. Itโs typically added during an oil change, and one bottle is sufficient for up to 5 liters of engine oil. The additive is mixed with the engine oil and does not require any special procedures. Performance and Effectiveness Personal Use and User Feedback Wear and Tear: Many users report noticeable reductions in engine wear over extended periods. This is often observed in smoother engine performance and longevity. Fuel Economy: Some users have noticed slight improvements in fuel economy, though this benefit can vary based on driving conditions and engine type. Engine Noise: A significant number of users report quieter engine operation after using Cera Tec, suggesting effective friction reduction. Smooth Operation: Improved engine smoothness and responsiveness are commonly cited by users. Expert Opinions Automotive experts generally acknowledge that ceramic additives like Cera Tec can provide additional protection against wear, especially in high-stress or older engines. However, the benefits can sometimes be marginal if the engine is already in good condition and maintained with high-quality oil. Pros and Cons Pros: Enhanced Protection: Effective in reducing wear and extending engine life. Versatility: Suitable for both petrol and diesel engines and compatible with all types of engine oils. Improved Performance: Potential for smoother engine operation and noise reduction. Temperature Resilience: Maintains effectiveness under high-temperature conditions. Cons: Cost: Relatively more expensive than standard oil additives. Variable Results: Benefits like improved fuel economy may not be significant for all users. Over-reliance: Should not be seen as a substitute for regular maintenance and high-quality engine oil. Conclusion LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec 3721 generally lives up to its claims, providing an extra layer of protection for engine components. It is particularly beneficial for high-mileage or older engines and in conditions where engines are subjected to high stress. While the cost is higher compared to standard additives, the potential benefits in terms of wear reduction and smoother operation can justify the investment. However, itโs important to have realistic expectations and not to rely solely on additives for engine maintenance. Regular oil changes with high-quality oil and proper engine care remain essential.

So far impressed
Bought the product because of other positive reviews, could be imagining it, but my car definitely seems a little smoother and quieter on cold starts. Quality brand so hopefully does what it says.

Very Effective, Long-Lasting, And A Great Choice To Improve Your Engine
This LIQUI MOLY additive is used for both Petrol and Diesel engines, and each 300ml bottle can be used for up to 5-litre engines. From what the product mentions this will reduce friction wear, smoother engine performance, and reduce fuel consumption and pollutants. From my experience, I can at least mention a few benefits I've seen over the years since I first used it back in the beginning of 2022 and 2024. When I use it I can certainly notice a difference within a few starts that the engine feels smoother (similar to when you install a new set of spark plugs). I've had my car since 2016 with approx 90,000 miles done so far with no engine faults or problems to speak of (except spark plugs and a control pack, but internally nothing has gone wrong). I'm pretty sure the bottle or the website mentioned you only need to do it once every 2 years, but because I'm not 100% sure, I would recommend using this with every oil change. As for lowering fuel consumption, it's hard to say, I couldn't notice anything substantial so I wouldn't say this is a feature but more of a placebo from the smoother engine performance, but on other cars, you may see bigger benefits. Luckily this is super easy for anyone to install themselves if they're doing their own oil change. You can do this in one or three ways from what I've read/seen. Firstly you can add it at the beginning before adding your oil, at the end but just make sure you don't overfill your engine, but my preference is to use 2 litres of oil and then add the LIQUI MOLY additive, and finish off the rest with remaining oil to add. You can choose whatever way you like as this is just personal preference, but all 3 ways show you how easy it is to use. โช Would Highly Recommend I hope you have found this review informative in helping you decide whether to buy this product. I also have more reviews on my profile if that interests you.

I recommend it on preserving the engine and smoothness it instantly gave.
Just changed the oil on my CIVIC 1.6 and poured in the 300ml of the liquid (donโt be shocked by the colour), didnโt give off any smell that I was made aware of. Packaging, presentation and quality is as you would expect from Liqui Moli What I noticed instantly was the engine tone, there was a noticeable difference in engine diesel chatter, have just completed a 25mph at a steady 69mph and mileage gave me 65.8mpg and can imagine itโll slowly rise slightly. Ok may be costly however I think in my opinion itโs worth it, may run it on every second oil change, to promote longevity of the engine.

Not the snake oil you would expect it to be
Never really been a fan of these 'snake oil' oil additives, but after doing quite a considerable amounts of research on this product, I decided to give it a go. My own personal 2012 2.0TDI Bluemotion Passat 140 ~ 86,000 miles: Contrary to the advised 'put it in at oil change interval with fresh oil' I decided to put it in half-way-ish through my oil change interval into some used, but good quality oil, I removed 300ml of oil and added this stuff in. My theory was that if I noticed any detrimental effects of the additive, I could do the oil change now and only lose out on the ยฃ17. I added it in and after a few days I hadn't really noticed any difference, in fact for the best part of a week ,there didn't 'seem' to be any change. I do sufficient 'gentle' warm up/cool down driving at either end of my morning and evening motorway commute 5 days a week. The following Monday though, around 400 - 500 milesafter the addition of CeraTec, I noticed that the first cold start up and cold idle were noticeably quieter/smoother, this engine is quite smooth and quiet anyway (for a diesel) but this was noticeable, and at sub-zero temperatures. On the gentle drive to the motorway (usual stop-start, traffic-lights driving) it was still noticeably smoother and quieter than before, feeling more eager to 'go' and less restricted, but the shocker here (for me) was the journey up the slip road onto the motorway, by the time I get to this point on my journey my oil is sufficiently warm for me to deem 'standing on it' acceptable, so stand on it I did. Well, all I can say is wow! There is a difference and it is not subtle, slight or noticeable, it is stark! The car took off up the slip road overtaking pretty much everything along the way and was happily revving up to around 4Krpm before I changed up, the engine was singing, it loved it, I did too. I have not been able to recommend this to enough people, usually receiving the same sceptical 'oh yeah' snake oil responses, but I've said to them, and I'll say the same to you, try it and give it a week! The first oil change after the addition of this stuff is coming up in around a week or two so I'll be interested to see if the effects remain after a week of just having fresh oil in, if not, I'd happily stump up another ยฃ17 to re-treat for the next 8000miles.

Smooth like butter.
I own a 2017 Honda City Diesel i-Dtec with around 1.50 lakh km on it. The car has always been serviced at the authorized service center, never missing a service. However, for the past 30,000 km, the car has been running rough with noticeable engine noise and vibrations. I decided to flush the engine, change the oil, and add CeraTec. After driving 50 km, there wasnโt much of a difference, but after 100+ km, the engine became so smooth that it felt like driving a brand-new Honda. The vibrations returned to normal, and the engine sound was as it should be. Diesel engines usually consume some oil, but CeraTec has helped reduce the oil consumption in my engine. Iโm absolutely impressed with this product in every way. **Note:** If your engine is worn out due to normal use, CeraTec can help smooth out the worn areas, significantly improving engine performance. **Additional Note:** For the treatment to work effectively, the oil needs to be heated up multiple times during regular use. For example, driving 50 to 100 km over the course of a week. With each heat cycle, the engine smooths out further as CeraTec continuously adds ceramic layers to the surfaces. I plan to use CeraTec every 20,000 to 30,000 km moving forward.
