Would the black trim one, do for an adult?...

Hello, it is dependent on your size but the funbrella has a shorter pole that most adults may find too short / difficult to use. The canopy is also not as wide and so may be too small.

Is this genuine fulton? if so why is there japanese writing on the label, fulton is british

Im not sure if its original fulton but its very strong and kids love it.

Hi - This is the kids version of the popular Birdcage design. It's perfect for this age child as they can clearly see where they are going through the clear pvc and stay nice and dry too. Big enough for good coverage but not overwhelming. Hope this helps.
