Worth every penny
After a lot of research and watching of reviews, I settled on the Rode Nt-usb. For my needs it doesnโt fit perfectly, but I believe it could outshine the competition with few drawbacks. Itโs plug and play with no need for software. The knobs on the side control the volume of the headphones and the fade in/out between the mic and the source. Unfortunately no mute and no knob for the gain but the mic has an automatic internal gain which seems to work quite well and you can download a program called MicMute and set a shortcut to act as mute toggle(I have mine set to a button on my mouse). I have had someone tell me that my voice went from acceptable to extremely loud all of a sudden, but that was a once off and could have been a software conflict with an audio program. The mic itself looks great with the included metal pop filter and fit together quite snuggly. Pop filter can pick up dings if youโre not careful. The mic has a quality, solid, heavy metal feel to it. The stand is a nice addition and handy if you donโt have a better alternative. I purchased the Racksoy arm from Amazon for about ยฃ10 and it holds the weight very well, only time will tell but it was a much cheaper alternative to the Rode arm. The included cable is 6 metres more than I would ever need but great to see that companies arenโt cheaping out. From watching other reviews I have found that the mic will fit the Rode Sm6 shockmount. You will lose access to the controls and the included pop filter but the sm6 comes with another pop filter. Left to do its thing the mic could pick up cars and birds chirping outside my house so it is quite sensitive and would definitely benefit from a reasonably quite environment. The headphone jack on the mic with headphones attached is quite wobbly but it doesnโt affect the audio in any way. There is an internal light to let you know the mic is on and itโs just bright enough to let you know, itโs not full beams on a car like other brands. Overall Iโd have to give this microphone 5 stars. You can feel the quality and most importantly, hear it. Pros: Great sound Looks fantastic Included pop filter, stand, carry case and 6m cable 2 year extended warranty Cons: No mute(fixed with software) No gain control on mic(fixed with software) No list of compatible shockmounts available from Rode

I am SO thankful and grateful
I needed a good mic for my voice overs and podcasts, I had been choosing between Blue-Yeti and Rode-NT. Rode's mic has a pop-filter in the box which is a big plus for me, because although I could order a delivery for Blue-Yeti to my country, but no pop-filter seller gave me that option so I would had to buy a pop-filter locally somewhere. The main problem for me was that Rode-NT is more expensive, it didn't fit into my budget, but then I decided to wait for awhile and just in a few days Amazon put it on 30 pounds sale and that was the perfect time for my purchase. I've used [...] to watch over the price on the mic and it sent me an email when the price dropped, very helpful. The delivery was outstanding, it was rocket-speed! In less than a week I got the package right to my house, thanks to UPS so very much, they are the best! Now that I have used the mic, I can say that the only weak point about it is the tripod - it feels fragile and it's very low, I have to move my head down to be close to the mic or place it on some additional stand, Blue-Yeti has a much better one. Seems like Rode didn't give that tripod enough love, maybe because they think everyone should be using a professional mic stand or a boom arm. Also, a mute button on the mic would have been a very useful feature, Blue-Yeti has it. Other than that, the mic is great, my voice sounds incredibly better compared to my cheap mic I used before, also from all of the comparisons I've seen on youtube, NT-USB does sound a bit better than Blue-Yeti. When I was watching review videos on youtube about these mics, very often I heard warnings that because these are condenser mics they record all of the background noise, so I was a bit nervous if the quality would be OK in my room where I have absolutely nothing for sound-proofing, also my PC is quite loud. If you are concerned about that too, I can tell you clearly that my previous cheap microphone although it was Dynamic not Condenser, it had enormously bigger amount of noise. Yes, you have to be quite in your room, you have to close the windows and preferably you have to be home alone for your recordings, but you would do that even with a dynamic mic too. Set your Rode NT-USB on about 20% level in the system settings and it's ready to go. Ok, I hope these tips will be useful for you guys, good luck to you and happy recordings! Thank you Amazon, UPS and Rode! Much Love! <3 <3 <3

Good all round home recording mic
As you would expect from Rode, the product is well made and of robust construction. It looks and feels high quality. The mic is perfect for home recording, easy to set up on Mac, and I'm sure the same is will be true with PC platforms. It's a good all round solution for those wishing to make home recordings of instruments, vocals and more, and is perfect for online video conferencing, giving good audio quality. The long cable allows the mic to be set up placed in the room to give optimum sound quality. I've used it for live recording of acoustic and electric guitars, and vocals. Results have been very impressive (quality of my playing excepted!!). My only slight quibble is that, although the stand is very sturdy, it would be better if it fold flat legs to make it easy to transport. Other than that, a good buy for the money!

Perfect for my basic setup, but beware of compatibility with shock mount
After looking at the accumulative cost of getting an XLR mic + interface etc, I decided to just get this USB mic after seeing the recommendations on YouTube, and I'm definitely happy with the result. Physically, everything is well constructed and feel solid and of high quality. I was a bit miffed by the excessively large packaging it came in though. Pretty sure it could be cut by 1/3 to a half with some sensible packaging design. The foam packing definitely kept the mic safe at an overkill level. I'm no audiophile so I can only say, I can notice the differences in sound quality vs my ยฃ30 desk mic. That said it could be a result of me spending a bit more time to set it up correctly software side, with reduced gain at the OS level. It's definitely better at reducing the noise level, again - perhaps due to my altered gain settings. That said it definitely still picks up my mouse and keyboard sounds, which isn't really that big of a problem for me. I also think it's more sensitive to the S's than my old mic, but this could be a direct result of having to be physically closer to the mic due to the reduced gain. At least the bundled pop filter works a charm with the Pah sounds! I was surprised by how useful the zero latency monitoring is, with access to the desktop audio at the same time. This allows me to hear myself clearly whilst playing games at the same time, without the short delay that I get from OBS, making it super hard to continue speaking. The downside is this is pre-mixed monitoring, so I can't hear my compressor, limiter and EQ at work. To be fair, as someone who's just starting out with streaming, I don't think it's a deal breaker. Any hardware solution would probably cost as much minus the mic - so it ends up being a nice bonus for me. One criticism I have is its compatibility with the PSM1 shock mount - which I'd expected full compatibility with. The pop filter's attachment to the base of the mic is at an angle, which means it can't go on the shock mount without turning the mic at an angle. Even after that, the filter ends up being pressed against one of the shock mount's supports, which could introduce scratches if I accidentally move / twist the filter. The bigger problem is that the shock mount limits access to the monitoring dials, where the dials are blocked by the shock mount's metal. If the filter was symmetrically attached and goes further out from the mic - it would solve this problem entirely. I suspect the same issue would occur with any shock mounts of similar designs, so the limitation is more strictly to the mic's design. Sadly I don't see any obvious fixes besides elongating the entire microphone to raise the dials. I've not used the table stand that came with the mic, which is a comparatively cheap bit of plastic against the quality metal of the mic. It seems silly that the stand took up as much room in the box as the mic, when I've got much better constructed fold-able metal ones from my cheap mic. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase as someone just starting out with streaming, and can't afford all the bells and whistles of XLR mics.

Best purchase for making music on Android or PC.
I was very sceptical that this would do what I would require but when it arrived. I saw the build quality and this product is amazing. The great this is you can hear your voice through the actual Microphone not like most others I have had to send back which were supposed to do the same thing. Like the other reviewer said the only down fall about this product is that there is no gain function for your recordings so whatever you hear sound level wise does not migrate over to your software. Luckily for me I have an internal gainer in the Apps I use in order for the vocals to be amped up but it would be useful to have had this incorporated into the Micro itself. So whever you hear is what the software hears to. Aside from that it's a fantastic purchase and would recommend it. If you dont want clutter and something tidy and sleek and well put together and give studio quality this is it just don't try looking for and audio Amp for this as its USB operated and I couldnt find and Audio app with a USB input channel. Also anyone who is looking to use this on a galaxy S9 make sure you use a Type C USB adaptor.

Great quality
Love this microphone. The build quality is excellent. Sound quality which can me made even better with and add on sound card for your PC. However it sounds excellent on the generic sound card. One issue I found on installation. I have an add on 6 x USB 3.0 PCI-E card, and when I plugged the microphone into that it was being seen by Windows 10 as an audio output device and not an input device. I cured this by plugging it into the main mother board USB 2.0 socket and restarted the system. I don't think that USB 2.0 is an issue for this microphone as it works a treat. Looks great too.

Exceptional Piece of Kit
Pleasantly surprised is the best way to describe this product. I have been doing video game reviews on Youtube for a while now and whilst I later began to use a shotgun mic connected to a Tascam DR40 via XLR input, it became a lot easier for me to just simply use a Turtle Beach USB-based gaming headset to record them instead due to not having to convert the signal and transfer the files (something you'd think wasn't that big a deal until you consider that you have to play the game, write the script, record the footage, record the voice-over and edit the whole package), and bearing in mind some of the videos were an almost an hour long documentary. The Turtle Beach had a lot of background noise for every recording I did and though I also have a Blue Yeti, I was never satisfied with the sound of my voice on that particular device. Cue me getting mightily sick of having to edit out the background noise for every video, and eventually happening upon the NT-USB which is in my view an incredible piece of kit. The sound is really quite incredible given its price and also given that it's connected via USB - no need to covert the signal for it's all done inside the device. Happy days! I'd describe the sound as mellow though quite pronounced compared to other mics I have used in the past. If you're looking for a mic that accentuates your voice, then this is the one for you. On top of this it also has incredible low noise capabilities (something I found was sorely lacking in the Blue Yeti), a really long lead - which I'd rather have than one that was too short, a stand and a pop filter. It's also incredibly well packaged and made of solid metal construction as you would expect from Rode.

Excellent microphone - great value for the price
It's easy to set up and start recording. I bought it upon recommendation for voice recording hypnotherapy audios at home, and I'm very pleased with it. There are two volume controls and when using headphones (purchased separately) I can listen to the backing music separately while speaking and thereby get the pace right. This saves times later when I add that piece of music to the audio track. I like that it has a long cable so that you can position your computer away from the mic while recording so as not to pick up the hum of the pc. It comes with a pop shield which is very effective. Really happy with my purchase.
