Q: Will the sound be obstructed if plant pots and garden furniture are in the way?

I would place them where the animal is likely to pass as the noise and flashes will deter it from your garden. I have several around the garden and it seems to work.

Q: Can it work thru glass (from inside my house pointing out)? I had one outside but it was stolen.

I wouldn't of thought so. Iv tied mine onto my drain pipe

Q: If I place it in a dark attic to deter squirrels, how long will the batteries typically last for before I need to go up there and charge them?

At the moment I am charging the batteries every week as mine are outside and this time of the year there isn't much sun. Really useful as I plug them into my phone charger.

Q: If you have them outside how do you know when and if they need charged electrically

The red is dull and it doesn't flash. As there is not much sunshine at this time of year I tend to top up the charge every week and it takes 1.1/2 hrs. I have four and it's not a problem but could probably leave for another week. When there is a lot of sunshine they will charge themselves.
