Great quality gear cable for Shimano Revo shift

Decent quality, but it will need tensioning a few times before you snip and clamp like any cable but overall has performed well. Proper installation is key though. Cannot complain, did the job. Tip, WD40 the housing to make it smooth and stop any water getting into the cable.

Working well

It may not be original, but it's made of good materials, the head doesn't come off the wire like some other low quality copies do, and after months of staying outside in the cold, wet weather, it still hasn't rusted or frayed and shouldn't if used properly. As a bad condition, i store my bike outside and it can take a lot of beating from the weather, but this wire hasn't had any issues. All it needs is a little bit of lubricant or water displacer when inserting to keep it working smooth and prevent water from getting to it. I used this for my dropper post and it works flawlessly. Easy and quick installation and a smooth, easy to press lever!

It was easy and smooth to replace the broken cable. Nice quality cable. I think it will last for a while.

Arriving in a little grey plastic bag with a white label on it "jagwire inner cable..." for £2.50 I mean it's certainly a gear cable and has no issues / looks fine. But whether it's genuine jagwire, I'm just trusting it being sold by Amazon themselves means it is indeed jagwire & it's just in a no-frills packaging for minimal cost, nothing else about this makes me think its jagwire.

My thoughts on the Jaqwire gear cable: - Exactly what I needed for the Shimano Deore SLX system on my mountain bike. - At 1.2mm they are thinner compared to your 'bog-standard' gear cable. Check your bike specifications for what you require. - They are easily installed but make sure you have a good set of cable cutters, pliers and the right allen keys. If in doubt refer to the one known as 'Google'. - Also another helpful tip is to lubricate with oil/wd40 before inserting into the outer cables. It helps keep things running smoothly and protects the cable further. - These do not come with cable end caps, so you will have to purchase them separately. - Finally I cannot comment on the durability of the product as its so subjective. That's down to how many miles you ride and how you treat your bike. Nonetheless at this cheap price it would be rude not to have a few sets.
