Toppik, Hair Building Fibres Powder for a Thicker-looking Hairline 5

This is really quite amazing stuff. I have andro-genetic alopecia and was finding it really hot wearing hats over the summer. I bought this along with Restrand hair building spray to try them both. Restrand I found ridiculously messy and difficult to put on. This stuff on the other hand was super easy and quick to apply. Its like a little salt shaker which you shake over your head where your hair is thinning or have bald patches. You can build it up to your desired density. I think it takes me only about 3 minutes to put on and it stays on throughout the day - through wind and even when I got caught in the rain. It looks completely natural and people can never tell unless their eyes are right beside the top of my head (which is never). The only downside is that it can be slightly messy and creates a kind of dust over my sink. Apparently the Toppix applicator is meant to minimize this and make putting it on more precise although I haven't tried it yet. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who suffers from alopecia or other forms of hair loss.

Its a great product but it requires to be applied with skill and only for certain people. 1. You will NEED HAIR on your head! If you have not enough , this will create an effect of an "ashtray dipped head" and will look awful to say the least XD. ( My pal with less hair than me tried , and we had a lot of laugh with the result ) This works for me because I still have a hair, only thin. It does great job thickening them , but it won't produce hair ! 2.You will need fixer spray ! Dont skip this ! Or you might be up for embarasing surprise ... 3. Colour is great and the way this behaves is awesome . Cycling Jogging Walking , light rain and strong wind no problem! 4. Surprise - you can actually brush and comb yer hair ! however buy a pro comb - they are ANTISTATIC!! IMPORTANT. 5, I would say your hair would need to be longer 5-10cm at least (or longer ) - then the effects are better , very short men hairstyles might not create enough "foundation" to allow the fibres to anchor themselves properly. 6.dont put too much , this is a concealer not alternative to real hair :) It WON'T produce hairs . It will only make you look awful if you overdose .....

The product is impressive. It's not perfect, but it does a pretty good job and despite a few things that I don't like about it, I really don't think I can live without anymore. I've always looked younger than what I am, I've started losing hair 3 years ago due to the stress of my business, but I never really cared, because I've never *really* seen the back of my head and sides. But recently my gardener told me "we must be around the same age". When she said that I knew something was wrong. When I was 25 people thought I was 18 or 19. And now with 32 I look like 40? So that was a eye opener for me. Today was my first day out with Toppik (black) and it was a perfect day to test it: it was very windy, but I can tell you that after almost 10 hours walking around the city, I still have the fibers securely held in place. The product blends almost perfectly with my hair. Sometimes it's a bit itchy but nothing relevant. I don't like the texture of it, it's weird to touch your hair with the product on, it does really feels like you have coal or chalk in hour head. However, it's undetectable. My girlfriend and friends couldn't detect it (only after I told them). So that's pretty positive. I started minoxidil one month ago, so my plan is to use this until my hair grows again, because I've been investigating a bit the ingredients of Toppik and I've heard a few mentions of potential risk of cancer, so I want to use this as less as possible. They should remove the dangerous chemicals even if the shelf life is shorter. Safety should be always the number one priority. Overall, I look younger again, and I'll keep using it for a few months while minoxidil does it job. I've added some before and after pictures of me using Toppik.

REASON FOR PURCHASE I have male pattern baldness at the top of my head which was making me feel very self concious. Tried minoxidil but didn't really notice any effects after sustained use for a year. After seeing a few videos Toppik online I decided to give it a go, half expecting it to work. PRODUCT To my amazement this product actually works. Sprinkle the fine fibre over the area in affected immediately it covers the baldness. It works by sticking to the existing (thining) hair and adds volume. FURTHER NOTE Please note that for this product to fully work and stick, you will need to buy the Toppik fibre hold spray (or equivalent) otherwise the fibres will just fall out (this is not mentioned in the product description). VERDICT By using the two products together the result is amazing and does the job! On the touch It feels like you have just used hair spray. It will not blow off in wind. It will not run in light rain, although on drying it will firm up again. Does not rub off whilst in bed. Lasts up to 2/3 days depending on how often you wash your hair. Confidence back... will use again, and would highly reccomend.

It does the job but the bottles are too small and do not last as much and too expensive. I have tried cheaper ones and they do the same job. So no justification why the item is overpriced? It does cling to hair well and only noticed in really high winds that it will come off in small amounts it is very water resistant as well - it doesn't come off if you just rinse your hair but it does with shampooing. It's a good product but not impressed by the pricing, as cheaper hair fibres can do the same thing for less.

If ever there was a hair product that can give you confidence then this is it! After repeatedly having braids in my hair for quite some time I noticed (always when it's too late) that this particular hairstyle had taken its toll on my hairline, and was now sparse in areas, which I now felt self conscious about. I have been using Toppik now for a few months, it's a fine dust powder, the top of the application bottle is a bit like a 'pepper pot' lots of little holes, so you need to make sure that you apply it gently. It really does cover the areas, and looks just like your hair, and you do need some hair as the powder bonds to existing hair to cover an area. I'm glad to say that my hairline is growing back, so I can continue to use the Toppik with the confidence that it is not clogging my scalp in anyway and preventing any regrowth.

If you are on the fence about this then give it a go. Its not the cheapest but its great. Get the right colour, sprinkle it on, use your hands to mess it up a little and then use some generic hair spray. Its amazing in that it really works! it also survives rain fine! My technique even survives a session at the gym followed by steam and sauna rooms. Great stop gap while you save for a transplant :D

Overall works great! A nice temporary solution for when you need it. I always keep a couple of bottles on hand. Make sure you use hairspray after you've applied to keep it from getting on things.
