Sandalwood Shaving Cream Bowl 150g

Just coming to the end of the first pot of this and at 57 years old, this is the best shaving cream I’ve ever used. The lather is so thick and creamy and not a single nick in 7 months. My wife loves the Sandalwood smell, so I also love it!! Going to buy some more soon.

Foams up nicely and smells great!

I have used Taylors creams in the past, and in particular the lavender shaving cream. If you like the lavender you will like the rose, and vice versa - they have very similar characteristics apart from (obviously) the particular flower scent. Others have complained about the packaging. I didn't really have a problem. The top could have been on tighter and the internal plastic lid had lifted a little, but this is quite a firm solid cream (like a hair wax) so leaking isn't a particular danger. The material of the pot and appearance are perhaps on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but then again so is this cream (I paid just less than £10). I wasn't impressed but I was happy enough. The scent is really distinctive. When I showed my wife she immediately said "Yum - Turkish delight" and that's pretty spot on. It's a very powerful sweet rose scent and it smells delicious. I was concerned that it would last a long time and make me smell "girly", but it dissipates quickly after shaving and I wasn't worried about it clashing with my choice of aftershave. Essentially it's a great smell whilst you're shaving but won't stay with you in a big way and I'm fine with that in a soap. In terms of lather, I was a little disappointed. I've had similar TOBS creams before and remembered them giving me a good lather, but I find this a bit drying and not as smooth as I had expected. It could be a slightly different recipe, or it might be simply that it's 6 months since I last used a TOBS cream and I've got used to other (better?) creams since. It lathers easily and the lather looks good, but it just doesn't provide the same lubrication that I'm getting from the (more expensive) Dr Harris cream that I'm also currently using. Consequently, my shave is neither as close not as comfortable. I should add that I have skin that is very sensitive to soap and dries very quickly when exposed to it. That is the reason I use creams and not soaps. The drying non-lubricating sensation is *exactly* what I experience when using a soap - especially as other reviewers here are reporting much better performance. I will continue to use it because I love the scent so much - but probably occasionally rather than day to day. I was a little disappointed, but I think that's probably down to my particular skin rather than a lack of quality in the cream. The scent is really nice and the price is very good. So I'm giving it 4 stars for its general quality - I'd recommend it to others but not to myself!

Love this, old school smell and lathers lovely. Gives a great base for a clean shave.

The perfect prelude to a 'wet' shave. Easy to use. It produces an excellent lather. Pleasant perfume and a splendid aid to stubble removal.

So for 40 years I've used cans of foam or gel. Always thought a brush and soap was for really old men (like my Dad who says he tried 'new stuff and it was cr4p'). Anyway, I was recently given a shave cream which I actually found better than what I've always used. So then bought this soap as it had good reviews and so no harm in trying it. I was amazed. Bought a new brush and I can't believe how smooth and clean shaven my face is with this stuff. My wife says she can see and feel my face is smoother after a shave. I hate to admit my Dad was right.

Unfortunately it was shipped in an envelope with no interior protection, the container was broken in pieces. Seller was quick to refund as they didn't have any in stock to replace it. I was able to salvage half of the shaving cream, it's excellent, very smooth and the Peppermint not overpowering. Worth the price !

Bajo mi punto de vista, tiene un aroma perfecto para el verano. Al principio, nada más abrir el tarro, se aprecia cierta acidez, algo químico que no acaba de encajar del todo, aunque a medida que se va usando esa sensación desaparece y deja un aroma muy limpio y sobre todo cítrico y fresco. Creme fantástico! Desempenho superior a maioria dos cremes que já usei. A fragrância é sensacional! Recomendo muito a aquisição!

PRO 👍: prodotto di qualità storica inglese - montaggio semplice - idratante e protettiva - profumo - rapporto qualità prezzo. CONTRO 👎: a mio parere nulla. Sono appassionato da molti anni di rasatura tradizionale, e ogni tanto mi regalo saponi da barba di qualità. Le creme da barba Taylor's le conosco da molto tempo, e hanno una qualità molto alta, e un prezzo tutto sommato abbordabile. 🟠 La confezione stessa è generosa, robusta, e pratica. Il tappo, con le classiche bordature antiscivolo, fa già capire che tutto è progettato per il comfort durante la rasatura, in cui anche aprire un barattolo con le mani bagnate o insaponate non deve essere un problema. 🟢 La crema è di consistenza semisolida. Non è un sapone duro, ma più somigliante a una crema densa. Già all'apertura si apprezza il profumo, in particolare nel mio caso la menta piperita, che invade gentilmente il bagno. Una goduria. Il montaggio che preferisco è in ciotola, basta prelevare col dito un paio di nocciole di crema, metterle in ciotola, e montare col pennello umido. Aggiungere acqua pian piano fino a che non diventa un tripudio di schiuma densa e pannosa. Oppure potete anche distribuire un po' di crema sul viso, poi montare in viso direttamente col pennello umido. La facilità di montaggio è un aspetto caratteristico di questi ottimi saponi, a differenza di altri prodotti anche più costosi e blasonati, che magari sono più pregiati ma hanno un montaggio difficile o complicato. Con le Taylor's il comfort la fa da padrone. 🔵 Sul viso col pennello si distribuisce bene, la crema rimane densa e protettiva, non evanescente ( a meno che non abbiate esagerato con l'acqua). Anche il profumo di accompagna piacevolmente per tutta la rasatura. Protegge benissimo durante la rasatura, e a fine rasatura la pelle rimane morbida e idratata. 👉 Le Taylor's sono creme da barba che a mio parere non devono mai mancare nel bagno degli appassionati di rasatura. Hanno una qualità elevata, a fronte di un prezzo equilibrato, considerato che si parla di un prodotto di qualità storica inglese. La durata è comunque elevata, la resa del prodotto è alta. E trasformano un rito che da dovere diventa un piacere. 👍
