Vivo Technologies Parasol Base 12kg Round Garden Umbrella Stand for Outdoor, Garden, Patio, Heavy Duty Parasol Holder with Tightening Screw,Diameter 45cm, Black

I purchased this to sit below a small bistro patio table to support a 2.3m parasol, which it does perfectly. It was a bit tight to accommodate the 45cm base between the patio legs, but it did so with mm to spare. The base is well-made; sturdy and with sufficient weight to hold the parasol with no sign of rocking or movement both when the parasol is open and closed. Finished in a black textured coating and edged with a black plastic strip the aesthetics and overall appearance surpassing what you would perhaps expect at this price point. The base comes flat packed and complete with everything that you need for assembly, including instructions and spanner. Assembly is straightforward but the spanner is rather flimsy and just about does the job. Assembly complete, the 38mm diameter parasol pole slides easily into the base and is held in place firmly with one of the provided plastic adaptors and the retaining bolt. Additional plastic adaptors are provided to accommodate different diameter poles. We haven't had a strong wind yet to really test it, but first impressions are very positive, especially at this price point.

Bought this to be used with a parasol that came part of a set purchased from a famous catalogue store ;) For under £15 I was only expecting a hunk of black concrete with a cheap tube attached but oh no, it's FAR better than that. The base itself is nice and heavy, with a nice textured finish and all nicely black with no scuffs etc. Around the edge of it is a plastic bumper sort of strip which makes it look neat and is probably so that you can roll it round without scratching the floor surface. Similarly, underneath there are also some little pads to keep it from scratching the floor. Very nice touches. The pole holder bolts very securely onto the base with minimal effort (and no tools required). It comes with 3 plastic adaptors to adjust to your width of parasol pole (mine fitted the smallest one perfectly) but it also has a screw bolt on the side if you needed to adjust it a little more. In my case, absolutely perfect. Arrived quickly too which is pretty amazing seeing as a heavy item like this didn't have any P&P charges on it. Very pleased.

Heavy, Solid, well made and robust. Does what it neds to do and only misses out on 1 star because the plastic sleve that narrows the opening will slip out (attached to the sun shade) unless you tighten the screw knob with a level of strength only super heros possess (or a grip tool) ;)

I brought a really cheap and cheerful table set from Tesco's which did not include a parasol stand. After visiting lots of well known DIY and garden centre shops I realised that a stand was going to cost me as much as the table set (£30-50). I was not going to buy one of those cheap and nasty plastic stands that you fill with water - they cost £10 for a reason! This is excellent - looks good and is strong and sturdy. Really good value for money. Left it out over the winter and still looks as good as new (just a tiny bit of rust on the nut which I could easily replace or clean off but that was my fault for leaving it outside when not in use).

This is a solid and stable parasol base which looks durable. Unfortunately on unpacking it was covered in fine dust, packaging was shredded, and most importantly the centre of the base was badly formed. Quality control and care at the factory seem to be lacking. I could have returned this free of charge using Evri but did not feel like transporting a 12kg package to my nearest Evri hub. Also given the state of the product I received I was not confident on receiving a better replacement. I kept the base because I think it basically a good product and I will put up with the cosmetic damage. If it had been in good condition I would have given it 5 stars.

Excellent product very prompt delivery in fact arrived a day early .

when this arrived you can clearly see that it had been re packaged. once out tried to put pole in but it would not tighten enough, when tried to put lightweight parasol up it couldnt hold it ,kept swaying and nearly breaking the glass table, had no option to return as it would not tighten fully, design fault.

Really pleased with this base very sturdy and weighted easy to assemble with different size attachment to fit pole came two days earlier than predicted so Really happy my only complaint is the sun's gone in.
