Hama 4154 Quick Release Plate Tripods Star 61/62/63 With Videopin, Black

This is my second purchase of the same product from the same company. The service is as good as the last time. Prompt delivery. I would recommend the supplier. The product does what I need; I bought it as a replacement base for the original base I lost for the VCT-D680RM Sony tripod. Sony does not supply replacement base mounts for its tripod. This Hama brand camera/camcorder base mount works with the Sony tripod I have. The Sony tripod is an expensive one; it would have been a shame not being able to use it just because a cheap base mount is lost. Now I use the second purchase of the base mount for my digital camera. This saves time as there is no need to unscrew and remount the base piece from the camcorder to the camera; each one has its own base mount now.

does what it says on the packet, very useful - I think - as this was part of birthday present, only thing was the scope/Tripod came with this attachment so didn't really need to order one.,

Does what it says in the description. This fitted my Star 62 tripod without any issues. I bought a couple of spares so that I could modify one to fit my camera without affecting the lens (an issue I have with all tripods and my camera's large zoom lens). I also removed the video pin on the modified plate as it was scratching the bottom of my camera. This was very easy to do. I can fit another plate to my spare camera, leaving a spare for a future camera. Edit: May 2019 - I am still using these and they are still very valuable. I purchased a Hama monopod which uses the same faceplates and I'll use the plates on either the Star 62 tripod or the monopod without any major issues. Admittedly I need to ensure that I use them the right way around on the monopod, but that's more to do with the monopod that the plates and all it means it a 90° turn if they are on the wrong way. A tip I read recently, yet to try, is to put a little water on the rubber just before you attach it to your camera. Apparently, this should reduce the chances of the plate accidentally twisting a little on the camera. I also bought another Hama tripod. This one uses a different plate design, so I do swap the plates over from time to time. I always leave one or the other plates on though as I can use them as a rest when using the camera on a wall or some other surface that could otherwise damage the camera. The monopod has been used in a variety of environments, including in the sea as a stood and videoed a boat coming into the beach. Finally, I see that the price has dropped since purchased mine. Oh well, I've had 6 years of use out of them, so I can't complain ;).

I somehow lost the quick release plate for my Hama tripod. I bought this replacement. It seems to be a genuine part. It fit my Hama Star 62 perfectly, just like the original. Now I can use the tripod again. It may also be worth buying a spare if you have more than one item of equipment, as the quick release mechanism is very easy to use.

Recently bought the Canon Powershot G5X Mk11 but didn't need my heavy tripod that I use when shooting with my Nikon D7500 & long lenses. Looked out an older lightweight tripod I used many years ago (Hama Star 61) but it didn't have the 'quick release plate' that connects the camera to the tripod. Was going to buy a new lightweight tripod but first checked out online if I could find a seller that had a quick release plate and Amazon did. So for a fraction of the cost I've got the Star 21 tripod fully functional again. I know that many of you will be knowledgeable photographers but for those of you who are maybe beginning their journey I've attached 4 pics that show - the quick release plate, where it goes on the camera, the receptacle on the tripod and the camera and tripod coupled together. Although the G5X Mk 11 is compact/light there are situations when the tripod will maximise the quality of the shot and that's so important to me.

I recently purchased a new wildlife scope and needed a reasonable tripod to accompany it. Amazon invited me to purchase those two items along with this as a package of 3. I assumed (NEVER assume!!) that guidance was being given that I needed this as it wasn't included. OK it didn't 'break the bank' but when all 3 items arrived I realised this is NOT needed as there is one already attached to the tripod. OK you experienced photographers, have a laugh at my expense!! Anyway I guess they (auto) suggest this is you can then mount your bins or camera without unscrewing this from the scope?? Not needed as an additional item....

Bought Two of these plates to use with a Hama tripod and the original plate...It's really handy having a plate for a Stills Camera,Video Camera and Spotting Scope..It means there is no time consuming fiddly secewing and unscrewing of equipment..One click and the plate can be released and replaced. The plate itself is Good value, well made and fits a number of different Hama Tripods.Delivery was quick and they were well packaged.
