DUNLOP HEVEA Unisex Half Length Wide Calf Wellington Boots Black

I have owned a pair of these wellies for 18 months. Here is my review. In summary I am very happy with them. Here is why: 1. They have proven to be 100% waterproof. 2. Because they are short (mid-calf) they are easy to put on and to pull off. Much easier than full-length boots. 3. I have worn them on various surfaces (concrete, tarmac, mud, sand, ice, snow). The boots grip well on all these surfaces. 4. The Amazon description is a little misleading - it refers to ‘safety boots’, these are bog-standard black wellies, they do not have a steel toe cap nor steel shank in the sole. 5. The absence of the steel sole shank means that when using them for gardening and for standing on a fork or shovel to drive it into the ground, the sole will deform a bit and put pressure on the mid-sole of your foot. This does not bother me but I would not recommend these to a professional gardener who would do a lot a digging. 6. The fit is good. But I am a man with fairly wide feet. Ladies with slender feet may find them a bit wide. 7. They are not insulated. In winter l wear them with thick socks and find this works well. Equally l do not find them sweaty in summer - probably because the mid-calf length makes them a bit more ventilated than full length boots. 8. Overall they are light and comfortable to wear for long periods. 9. When you take them off they stand up rather than flopping over like many full length boots - this is a minor point but it makes my hallway a bit neater! 10. They are made in Portugal. 11. Lastly, value - at about £13 pounds these are excellent value. I have worn them a lot for long walks and for diy and gardening. They are still in good shape and waterproof after 18 months. Over all, good unpretentious wellies that are comfortable and good value. Recommended.

I have bought more wellies than I have had hot dinners! The more expensive ones, the famous name makes, ones that manufacturers give amazing reviews for....All have caused me dissapointment .... split in months, cracked, leaked, uncomfortable hard inside sole, and very poor quality for the price. One famous make pair which weren't cheap, the base on both started to seperate themselves from rest of boot whilst out walking my dog. I ordered these Dunlop wellies, never noticed they were advertised for men, but as a woman size 5 they fit me like a glove. Very well made sturdy boot, have a good thick sole, and no hard uncomfortable inside (like so many I've had in past.) So pleased with the sturdiness and quality I ordered a 2nd pair immediately. May even order a 3rd (as spares,) as I am so very pleased with them. Price too really good for such a quality welly. Forget the rest...BUY DUNLOP.

For the price, these are pretty good. Definitely waterproof. They seem to be a little oversized, but realised that's probably so you can wear thicker socks as they're definitely not the warmest. The sole is a little thin so you do feel more of the ground you're walking...well, with thinner socks anyway. I bought a black pair and they seem fine. They are functional for what you'd need wellies for. Oh, and being shorter wellies I.e. ones that don't go over your calves, they fit nicely (I tend to have problems with the longer ones).

My husband needed a pair of calf-length waterproof boots to wear while working around our gardens. He says that this Dunlop boots is true to size, lightweight and well-made. It is easy to slip on and off, and very comfortable to walk in. His foot width is ‘standard fitting’ and he says that the boots are spacious enough to wear thick socks (and perfect for someone with wider feet). Unlike some of the Amazon reviews on this product, hubby found the soles to be thick; the grip is ideal for wet and muddy surfaces. These Dunlop wellies are great value and I recommend them.

Very strong construction and good, chunky soles that have a lot of grip. I've used them a couple of times for walking the dogs and they've done a great job. Comfortable, water tight, good grip in thick mud and the wet. They were also the right fit for me: I'm a 12, I bought a 12 and they fit perfect. My only gripe — and it's nothing to do with the quality of the boot — is that I'd rather have full length than the half size. For me, they rub on the back of my calf area and it's getting a bit sore of two wears. Maybe that's something I'll get used to and it'll stop happening. Maybe I can wear longer, thicker socks. But, I'll definitely try to get the same boots next time, just full length.

So far so good in terms of leakage, but the boots are not particularly comfortable and the looseness around the calves leads to rainwater ingress (although would suit those with wide calves). A very soft sole, meaning you feel every stone, twig etc. They were cheap, but in hindsight I’d have spent more and got more sturdy wellies.

You 💯% need insoles in these boots , you can feel every stone but when insoles are used they are PERFECT light and In my opinion only fo summer use , for the money you can't complain atal , Recommended, Thanks

devo dire che sono rimasto molto soddisfatto da questi stivali Dunlop. In primo luogo, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è davvero eccellente: con un investimento contenuto si ottiene un prodotto affidabile e ben realizzato. La misura è corretta, forse leggermente più ampia rispetto al numero che indosso solitamente, ma questo rende gli stivali perfetti per indossare calze spesse nelle giornate più fredde o per avere un po' di spazio in più senza stringere il piede. Gli stivali non sono eccessivamente pesanti, un fattore positivo per l'uso quotidiano in ambienti bagnati come l'orto, dove li utilizzo principalmente, tuttavia, non li consiglierei per lunghe camminate autunnali nei boschi, poiché non sono pensati per quel tipo di attività. All'interno, sono telati, il che rende il contatto con il piede più confortevole e aiuta ad assorbire eventuali tracce di umidità. Un altro punto di forza è la suola, sufficientemente antiscivolo per garantire una buona presa anche su terreni fangosi o umidi, migliorando la sicurezza durante i lavori. In sintesi, sono un'ottima scelta per chi cerca stivali pratici e confortevoli per lavorare all’aperto, soprattutto in condizioni di umidità.
