Does the paint completely coat the metal? Does the paint itself contain any metal? I am allergic to nickel and copper in jewelry. Thank you.

It's a good question!
First, the paint completely coats the metal, and also the metal of HOPWELL tongue drum does not contain nickel or copper.
About the paint, we adopts the electrostatic powder spraying process. There is no metal in it. The raw material is environment-friendly epoxy resin. It's very safe.

What is the macrame piece around the middle of the drum for?

The macrame is used as a protective and decorative element.
It gives the drum a more attractive look and protects against damage at the edges.
The rope is easy to put on and take off. The knots allow them to be tightened or loosened when adjusting.

What's the deal with the middle tongue? Multiple complaints, zero seller response to this specific issue!! It's jangling my jams !

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention regarding the middle tongue of our tongue drum. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.
We appreciate your patience as we address this matter and provide a satisfactory resolution.
Please be assured that the tuning of our tongue drums is carefully calibrated before shipping. The majority of drums do not require any adjustments upon receipt. However, due to transportation, there might be a very small number of drums with bent tongues. In such cases, we recommend following the steps below for adjustments. If you find that the tuning issue cannot be resolved through the suggested steps, we are more than happy to offer you a hassle-free return and provide you with a new and fully functioning tongue drum.
1. Remove the soft rubber covering on the bottom of the drum.
2. Use a tuner or tuning app to identify the note produced by the middle tongue and determine if it is flat or sharp.
3. Gently press the middle tongue close to its connection point with the drum using one of the mallets.
4. Check the tuner to see if the pitch has become higher or lower.
5. Continue making slight adjustments by gently pressing on different parts of the tongue until you achieve the desired pitch.
