OMG..... Car shampoo is just car shampoo, right? Wrong!!!! For years I've been taking my car to the car wash (the ones where you use their pressure jet wash, broom style shampoo brush etc). I'd gotten used to the finish I was getting from using those and accepting that quality as being the condition of my car's paintwork. Due to their escalating costs I decided to start washing my car at home, give this shampoo a go and save myself some money. Boy oh boy, what amazing results! I have owned my current car for nearly 3 years and it has NEVER looked this shiny and dazzling!!! Absolutely unbelievable!! Meguiars NEVER let you down, you can buy any of their products (I have lots of them!) and it’ll simply deliver.

I’m the fairly recent owner of a white car and I live rurally so regularly drive down dirt tracks and single lanes meaning I have to pull into a (usually extremely muddy) lay-by to let another car pass. Every previous car has been black or blue and I have never had an issue with a car looking constantly filthy and dull until now! I was using snow foam from another brand and didn’t feel it did the job that brilliantly, so I bought a selection of the Meguires products - the gold class shampoo, clay kit, endurance tyre gel, cream wax, and the quick interior detailer, to get a good base to start from thinking it’d then be easier to keep on top of, and I have been impressed with everything. The shampoo goes a long way, and a bucket of warm water with the recommended amount of shampoo cleans my car and 2 large ford transit vans. The scent is great and it just glides on with a micro fibre noodle mitt. I can honestly say, In 20 years of car ownership I have only ever washed a car myself a handful of times, or been to a petrol station jet wash a couple of times over a winter period to clean the salt off the paintwork. However, with my new selection of detailing bits, I have been enjoying washing the car every couple of weeks, with a quick blast with the pressure washer between washes. The first time took hours to get a really nice base, but it’s a quick job now and everyone comments on the glossy shine! The products are great value for money and the shampoo itself will last me a long time. I’ve not got a comparison between other brands as I have never previously washed my car myself, but I can say I am very happy with my purchases and despite initially thinking it was a bit expensive, it’s well worth every penny!

I have been using a small bottle of this shampoo for a number of months and it has lasted a long time so I doubt I will need another bottle of this for another while but I will happily use this shampoo as it is excellent!! This shampoo is used on a number of cars in our household and others in the street have asked what we wash the cars with as they stay so clean, my car is white car and I live in the country and it still get comments! This shampoo has a lovely smell and is so suddy (in the bucket anyways) and just leaves the car with a clean look, feel and smell. I use this shampoo with a soft telescopic brush and go over it again using a wash mitt and it just leaves the car looking great! This product provides the car with beading which is great and just makes the hard work of washing the car so satisfying watching the rain just roll off... ahhhh great :)! From using this Meguiar's product I have also purchased the Quik Wax spray (link attached) just to give the best possible finish and it does so, so brilliantly!! Car is washed every week and I say using these to products together I could get away with not washing the car a week, but where the fun in that ;)! I have found this car shampoo to be the best on the market. A little expensive but that's why it's so good. Puts a lovely shine on the paint work.

This simply the best all around soap out there for washing cars. I've been using it for years on various cars, and I've yet to find something that works better. It helps bring my Evo to a show worthy clean and shine. A couple cap fulls of this in my pressure washer bottle suds up great, same with my Gilmour Foamaster. It does a great job at cutting through mud and dirt, and even bird droppings if you get to it soon enough. Where I live it rains 2-3x a week so I try to keep my car waxed to reduce washes, but I still end up washing it down once every 1-2 weeks. If I stay on top of it, with this and my pressure washer - I don't have to touch my car with a mit or towel for cleanings. This works that well to clean a car of all dirt, grime, and bugs. However if you let it go a month and it's not waxed, then you'll probably have to mit clean it. The only time I use a different soap is usually the first couple weeks after a wax (assuming it's not caked on dirty somehow) I use Meguiar's Wash and Wax - 48 oz. to preserve the wax job and bring it back to a little more of a shine. To wash - I highly recommend a cheap electric pressure washer with a soap bottle. You can find them around 100-150$, and if you frequently wash your car it's well worth it. My philosophy is the less times I have to touch my car the lower probability of miro-marring and swirl marks. If you have to mitt clean, do as high powered of a rinse you can with a hose to get off the bulk of dirt. I then recommend the Meguiar's Microfiber Wash Mitt , use two cheap 5 gallon buckets (you can get them for a couple bucks from HomeDepot), with a The Grit Guard Insert (Red) - Fits 12 inch Diameter Bucket at the bottom. One bucket is clean rinse water the others your soap dunking water. The important tips I've found for avoiding marring is to frequently rinse and soap your mitt - don't let it start to get dry of soap/suds. Every single time you're about to rinse the mitt run your other hand over both sides and do a visible inspection, pick off ANYTHING you see. Rinse it, scrape along the grit guard if you need to, re-soap the mitt, then do another run of your hand against it and visible inspection. I can't tell you how many times I've picked something off the mitt, like a small piece a dirt or pebble or leaf/twig part that would've likely marked up the clear coat. Also usually you do not need to apply a lot of pressure, even for caked on grime. Lightly drag it so if there is dirt on the mitt it's less likely to scratch. The only other advice I have is to use at least 2 mitts per car. Reserve at least one for any hotspots on the car that get a lot of dirt - like around your rear wheel wells, rear bumper around exhaust, maybe even your front bumper if you've got it caked with bugs from a long road trip. I save those spots for last with the separate mitt so it keeps all that gunk out of the buckets and off the rest of my car. It's also useful to have another mitt if you drop yours on the ground or it touches any high dirty areas, it's great to set it aside for the washer and use another for now. I usually use a CRSpotless DI filter system to rinse the car off afterwards to a spot free shine. I have however used this and just hosed it off afterwards, and it does a pretty decent job by itself at leaving a fairly spot-free shine (obviously not completely). I'd say it's better then the Mother's wash I tried in this regard. Otherwise it's pretty comparable to the Mother's wash, although I tend to think this cuts through caked on dirt just a bit better. If you don't want a CRSpottless system you can buy the big blue filter housing and a DI filter to build your own for around 100-200$ (I did this after my crspotless system cracked over one winter). If you go the towel dry method I'd recommend Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel - you'll have to ring it out a couple times (maybe buy two), but it's soft and pretty safe to use. Just make sure you don't let it touch the ground or anything else covered in dirt - or you will mar/scratch it during drying.

It produces rich, thick foam that lifts dirt effectively without stripping wax or damaging the paint. After washing, the car looks noticeably cleaner with a deep, glossy finish. The shampoo is gentle on clear coat and leaves the surface smooth and streak-free. A small amount goes a long way, so the 1.89L bottle offers excellent value. It also has a pleasant scent and rinses off easily without residue. Highly recommended for anyone who wants professional-level results at home while safely maintaining their vehicle’s finish.

Este shampoo de Meguiar’s Gold Class se ha vuelto mi favorito para lavar el coche. La calidad se nota desde el primer uso: deja un brillo limpio, profundo y con muy buen acabado, sin resecar la pintura ni dejar residuos raros. Lo que más me sorprendió es lo bien que funciona con espumadora. Hace una espuma densa, uniforme y fácil de trabajar, que ayuda muchísimo a remover la suciedad sin tener que tallar de más. Terminas el lavado más rápido y el auto queda con un acabado tipo “detailing” sin esfuerzo. El olor es agradable, el rendimiento es buenísimo y honestamente rinde bastante por la cantidad que trae. Es de esos productos que compras una vez y luego ya no quieres cambiar. Si quieres algo confiable, de calidad y que realmente se note en el resultado, lo recomiendo sin duda.
