Canon EOS 750D Digital SLR Body Only Camera with EF-S 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens (24.2 MP, CMOS Sensor) 3-Inch LCD Screen

I've only just got this, a very popular DSLR camera. Up to now, I've been using a decent digital compact but I want to make some movies and take better stills. This is very good, right out of the box. I took a couple of indoors shots using the auto settings and the lens is very good, no doubt about that. Outdoors, I photographed a summer sky and a couple of other things, printed the sky on A4 matt finish paper and saw a tiny, tiny speck, like a defect. I blew it up and it's a bird in flight, so far away I couldn't see it when I took the photograph. That's really not too bad. The lens that comes with it as a complete "kit" is very good, no need to rush out and buy a new one. I photographed an electric guitar, a Far East counterfeit of an very famous American model which looks really good, but inspecting the photo, it shows that it doesn't have the finish quality of the American "pattern" original - it sees what the eye does not. I'm impressed. It's well made and easy to use (ergonomically it's first rate, a pleasure to use) but it's obvious that I'm going to be looking at the (very good) booklet for a good while and I'll have to have my hands on it to get used to what it does - learn the balancing act of the manual settings for various scenes and situations. Good as it is on auto everything, there's a lot more to be had here, that's clear. That comes with knowing the camera and time but the device itself is clearly worth this and is capable of very good results. Later, I'll upload the PDF for the more fancy stuff and think about lenses but there's enough here to keep me busy for now.

Firstly, I'm not a photographer. I work in Social Media and wanted to do more creative stuff online. As DSLR's are very expensive, I wanted to make sure when I committed I made the right choice. I spoke with a Photographer and he said that he'd always had Canon. They're certainly not the cheapest, in fact, they're probably one of the most expensive. I went into my research looking for a good starter camera. One that could do decent photos with the option of video. My results kept coming back to the 750D. Although this is a 3-year-old model, it still has some great functionality. You can connect your phone (NFC), and copy photos immediately off your camera. This is a lifesaver for me as I can post my images online in a few minutes. If you're working with a budget and you're looking for a good all round DSLR. You cant go wrong with this. I would suggest that you invest in a new lens though. I went with an 18-250mm and I've been really happy with the images.

For the price, you get a high-quality camera which can give you very professional pictures as well as videos. As a beginner don't be discouraged when your first attempts using this product don't look as impressive as you expected them to. It takes a lot of time to learn how to use this camera. I would recommend learning how to change the settings to get your desired look before reviewing the product. You will never get all that this camera has to offer whilst shooting on automatic mode.

This is a brilliant camera. I bought it as my old camera needed replacing and I was attending a wedding. Some of the photos turned out better than the official ones! The only thing I would say is that it takes a little bit of practice to get the lighting right when in fully automatic mode. I think it picked up on the white dress in what was brilliant sunlight, hence one or two of the photos came out slightly dark, but this wasn't a problem when using the manual settings. You can spend loads more money on a camera, but if you have a budget of £500, you won't go far wrong with this.

Back in the day I owned Pentax/Canon with various lens , black & white / colour printing etc. Rediscovered photography and went bridge camera / camcorder route. Decided to up my game and got the 750D. The technology on DSLR camera can be somewhat overwhelming, with numerous menus. Auto is the easy route, but why buy a DSLR for point and shoot? ISO/Aperture/Shutter/Focus which can be auto or manual will give you the opportunity fully explore the capabilities of the camera and your own creativity. The temptation to buy can be big-prime lens/zoom-canon lens or compatible? When I used a SLR it was 36 exposures, with DSLR you can shoot as many as you want, but 200 badly composed/focused/poorly lighted is just that a waste of time and energy. It's early days, but the capabilities seem to be OK for me, I just want to enjoy photography/video. Just hope I don't fall into the trap of it's not the photographer, its the equipment that's not up to standard.

I'm a huge Canon fan and had been using the 600D for a few years now. I felt it was time for an upgrade and to go from 18 million pixels to 24 is phenomenal. It seems to work a lot faster too and has so many more options. I am taking it to Madagascar next week to photograph as much wildlife as I can and with the ISO being so much greater, I should even be able to capture the nocturnal lemurs easily - something I could never quite manage before. I know that the higher the ISO, the more grainy the photo but it beats coming back with nothing at all ... Another great design by Canon and not too heavy (another must for me). Unfortunately, the battery is now a LP-E17 model so I've had to spend more money on spare batteries (and they are currently £35+ - no small feat).

Such a great camera! I'm the type to briefly read the instructions and then work it out myself which is definitely do able. It's so easy to use and the pictures are amazing! Doing my a level photography a level and at uni so will definitely help me progress! Definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. The touchscreen makes it so quick and the app is brilliant!

Excellent camera with all the necessary functions and features you'd expect from Canon. It's lightweight and compact and produces great results. I did consider upgrading to the 80D but I felt it didn't justify the further £500 price tag. I think I would struggle to see a difference in the quality. I also bought the 75-300mm lens in addition to the 18-55mm lens provided with the camera. I think it's a great camera at the entry level but also for someone who just wants to take some good photos without the expense.
