Big Potato Scrawl – Terrible Drawings, Ridiculous Guesses, Adult Game

What a great game. Bought this on Thursday and played with friends on Saturday night. There were tears of laughter and we only stopped the game as it had become very late, with the general consensus being that this is the best game any of us have ever played! It really is that good. Having regularly played (and enjoyed) Cards Against Humanity, nobody was quite sure how well this game would go ("isn't it just pictionary?"). We needn't have worried though. The game is simple, fast and endless fun. And you really don't have to be a good drawer, with the worst drawings/interpretations typically earning the points, just because they were so funny. When you get your board back, you see the last description that was written and then lay your story out in order. As such you read it and think "how did my drawing end up here...?" and all then becomes clear! Very amusing. The rules state that you draw and then pass left. I think this is limiting, so we rotated every round. With 4 players we passed left, then right, then straight across the table. If you don't mix it up, the same person will always be naming your first drawing, with the same people then drawing that. This made it much more fun, with a lot of the laughs coming from "who the hell drew/titled this one??". It really is a genius game. The root words to draw are a great range of interesting to entertaining, and whilst they become more 'adult', they don't seem to go for the same shock factor of Cards Against Humanity for example. They don't need to, as the entertainment comes from someone trying to draw the ridiculous and then it escalating out of control as the boards are passed on. I can't recommend this game enough and friends we've played with are already buying up their own copies. You won't regret it.

I bought this game after searching Amazon for party games to play with friends - I'm so glad I went for it! It's really easy to learn, so much fun to play, and gets a lot of laughs. When we play it with a new group of people, I always explain it like Pictionary meets Chinese Whispers - each person gets a card with a funny or obscure phrase, and has to draw it, passing it to the person next to them, who then guesses what they were trying to draw, and so on. The way I see it, there's not really any winners or losers, which makes it an ideal game to play when you've already been playing more competitive games. We've had some really good laughs with people's terrible artwork and obscure guesses, and we tend not to keep a 'scoreboard'. A few friends have asked to borrow it for their own games nights and our family members love playing it too. My one recommendation would be to buy a couple of spare markers, as ours ran out quite quick!

Great fun for almost all the family, spent to many hours at christmas play this game with the family. A great night in anytime with friends or family. Excellent price to.

Great and original game, sometimes producing the funniest results that will leave you gagging for air from laughter. The physical quality is good and the game can be played as many rounds as you wish. The two flaws I would point out are that you quickly run out of cards. On our second evening the phrases where already repeating, ruining the fun. Decent expansion definitely required! The second suggestion would be to limit the time to two minutes to draw. It's very silent when people are drawing so you get 10 mio of silence, then a burst of laughter at the end of the round. Also, there's always one person that takes forever to draw and makes the cards queue, leaving everyone else bored. Otherwise, great fun. Highly recommended!

Great game to play with friends or family it can get rude, so a broad mind I'd required

Fab & very entertaining game to play with several good friends, or people willing to enjoy some good fun! I played it only once this at with 5 other friends and it had a lot of hilarious moments and lots of laugher. Based on that one experience, I’d say it was one of my favorite games, and I’ll update this review if that’s not the case after I play it a few more times with different people/friends.

A great adult drawing game that made us all really laugh. Nicely thought out in that it doesn't use paper but contains wipe clean boards (giving them a wipe with a damp cloth and then a dry cloth at the end of the night keeps them looking great). My only gripes are that the pens could be a little finer for details and that the box is far too big. This could have been packaged in a nice small box like Six Second Scribbles (also highly recommend!). Ultimately I think I'll end up making it a smaller box and chucking the big one away as it's a waste of space.

This game is such a fun time! Played several rounds at a white elephant party with my colleagues (we're all in our late 20's). I bought it immediately, right in the middle of the game, it was that much fun. You pull a card and get to pick which of the four you want to draw, then pass it on to the next person to write what they see. Some of the cards are, yes, quite raunchy. For example, two of the cards that we received were "cat orgy" and "edible panties." But there are other cards like "worm goes to heaven" that would be easy to draw. It's like telephone in that things can go very wrong or off the wall very fast, but it's so much fun to see how people interpret the drawings! My parents have since enjoyed this game, as well, but they're the kind of parents who enjoy playing Cards Against Humanity with their coworkers and friends. Again, there is versatility in the cards; you can choose to draw the least raunchy of the options, and not every card has a raunchy phrase. But I will say, the dirtier the card, the more entertaining the drawings and descriptions. All markers worked perfectly upon opening and testing (I find that felt-tipped markers often go dry during transportation, but not so this time!), and everything was properly accounted for.

Great game, be careful with the markers, they quickly become unusable! But had a great time playing!
