Bought this as a gift to my mam who enjoys painting (& is very good at it too!) she had never used charcoal etc, but after messing about with the set she fell in love with it! This set is slightly expensive but is of high quality & worth every penny! I'd recommend but most importantly so would my mam, it's made her happy which in turn makes myself happy.

As a serious beginner to sketching I needed a neat and practical way to keep my drawing items all in one place and after much research chose this Castle Arts product. I am very pleased with the case quality and selection of drawing items enclosed. Included were some well produced leaflets and a suggestion to join their arts club website., which I have done. The pop up feature is very convenient and my solution to the comments by some reviewers regarding the placing of the graphite rating on the pencils was to swap the sander with the willow charcoal sticks which then meant that the pencils could be moved down their elastic holders making the pencil grade visible. They also have a number of tutorial videos on YouTube. I did have a query and was impressed with the speed and response of their customer care department.

This is a fantastic art set. I was very impressed with all of the little tutorial booklets inside. The only thing this set lacks is a 9B graphite pencil. Why stop at 8B?

I purchased this set as an inclusion to my son's art themed birthday gifts. He is home schooled due to complicated health issues. As some of the items were unknown to us, I emailed the seller asking her for any suggestions for a suitable guide (a previous purchase of an art book, from a different seller, having sadly turned out to be an unsuitable choice for my son's level of ability) to the use of them. I swiftly received a very thorough, helpful relpy from a lovely and obviously caring seller who went the extra mile to ensure we got the best use out of our purchase. Genuinely one of the most amenable and trustworthy sellers I have experienced across various selling platforms. A credit to her business and to the Amazon marketplace. I highly recommend this set of quality art supplies; which my son has already used to experiment with techniques that are new to him and these are challenging him in a positive way. Very reasonable costs for such an inclusive set. I also clearly recommend this seller as a trustworthy and caring person with exceptional customer service. It's easy really, if you have tested this brand before then you will know it never fails to put a smile on your face. Highly recommend for people who are trying to get back in to there art sketching of all ages.. I'd recommend a book also, the 1 they give you, without the real proper paper, and more step guides it can quickly knock your confidence as they make it look soooo easy in a 5 step copy book.. I'm just being honest.

It fits well in the draw. Doesn’t look cheap and keep draw with my big kitchen utensils very neat.

Bellissimo completo , con tutto l'occorrente per il disegno a matita, grafite e carboncino. Sono rimasta davvero soddisfatta dalla qualità di ( quasi) ogni singolo articolo presente in questo set, a partire dalla custodia semi rigida con cerniera, le due sezioni laterali si alzano a loro volta, grazie a degli strappi, in questo modo le matite rimangono un po' alzate e sono più comode da visionare, prendere e risistemare, ho allegato delle foto in cui si vede esattamente cosa intendo. Dicevo che sono rimasta soddisfatta di quasi ogni articolo presente nel set, purtroppo uno dei bastoncini di carbone è arrivato rotto, i temperini non sono nulla di che, ho provato a fare la punta a due matite di carboncino e non sono venute affatto bene, le punte si sono spezzate ad ogni tentativo, alla fine ho lasciato perdere per paura di consumare le matite inutilmente, quindi vi consiglio di temperare le matite di grafite e carboncino con altri temperini, più efficaci, o con la tagliabalsa. A parte questi piccoli inconvenienti, che non sono nulla di che, sono davvero felice di questo acquisto, il rapporto qualità prezzo è eccezionale, inoltre il venditore è davvero molto cortese e attento alla soddisfazione dei propri clienti, ho ricevuto una mail appena effettuato l'acquisto che mi invitava a contattarli per qualsiasi inconveniente o richiesta di informazioni, inoltre mi avvisava che tra un po' di tempo mi ricontatteranno per sapere come mi sto trovando con il loro set, non è cosa da tutti una simile attenzione per i propri clienti, questo per me è un ulteriore motivo di soddisfazione e mi incentiva ad acquistare altri articoli di questo brand. Très grande trousse noir en mousse avec une bonne fermeture éclair qui protège les 40 pièces qu'il y a dans la trousse. Beaucoup de crayons noires de différentes références, du plus sec au plus gras, des fusains, des estompeurs, taille crayon et bien d'autres choses indispensables pour faire des dessins aux graphites, croquis ou esquisses. C'est une très bonne trousse pour débuter les dessins aux graphites ou autres. Je recommande vivement au vu du prix et du nombre de pièces dans cette belle trousse. Vraiment très bon rapport qualité prix. Livré rapidement et bien protégé. Je la conseille vraiment ! Peut être également offert en cadeau.

I gave 4 stars for beginners because it’s great for amateurs who want to expand their horizons. Like me, I have never added pastel pencils into my graphite and charcoal mix, nor used graphite and charcoal sticks. Those specific items I will review their quality after I’ve used them a bit more. The one missing star is for beginners with little to no experience. For someone like this I would suggest the smaller pencil set that castle sells just to get used to the basics first before broadening your horizons. I am perfectly pleased with the quality of the pencils. The vinyl eraser is like any other eraser of its kind and it does what it’s supposed to. The smudging pencils are sturdy and can withstand the necessary amount of pressure to blend graphite and charcoal. The graphite sticks seem promising for shading in large areas, though I’ve only used them twice. Same with the charcoal sticks. One small criticism is the size of the kneading eraser, I do wish it was about 2-3 times larger so you can cover larger areas with it. I personally don’t like plastic sharpeners so I won’t be using it, but I tested it and it does it’s job, no bending or cracking of the plastic. The steel sharpener is a nice weight and size with 2 different sizes use. The sandpaper is where I think the big kicker is. Sandpaper isn’t a secret in art but usually we find ourselves buying a whole roll from the hardware store cause on its own in an art supplies shop they’re just over priced, let’s be honest. I’ve never seen a pencil set with a sandpaper pad included. The sandpaper holds so many uses, cleaning/sharpening your smudging pencils, sanding a dull pencil down to a fine point without needless sharpening, quick & easy way to clean your vinyl eraser, and I could go on. I’m sure there’s more that other people have done with it that I’ve never thought of myself. Overall opinion: I love it. I’ve had only one small complaint amongst the entire kit. Notably I can’t presently comment on the willow sticks and pastel pencils as I have not used them yet. I will update my review in the future to include how I feel about them as well!
