After repeatedly replacing rubber or felt stick-on pads on the bottom of my dining chairs after they came off, I decided it was time for a different approach. After reading the positive reviews I decided these must be worth a try. Wow, what a difference between these and the adhesive variety. Importantly though, these are best for wooden furniture feet or maybe hard moulded plastic, I imagine they would be very difficult fix into metal legs. These seem to have been very well made. They’re strong, the felt layer is adequately thick, good quality and firmly attached to the metal body, and the screws are concealed once tightened. I do strongly recommend drilling small pilot holes, as the screw heads damage quite easily if they meet too much resistance as they’re being turned, so the pilot holes help to take away that initial pressure of getting into the wood. For the same reason, you should also make sure your screwdriver is a snug fit for the screw. Now these are on, my chairs glide smoothly with little resistance along my kitchen floor tiles, making movement of the chairs effortless as you sit or get up or move them about. There’s also none of the judder or unsightly marks that you get with rubber stick-on alternatives. I wish I’d found these ages ago. More than that, I wish my dining chairs had had something like these on them from the start when I bought them. I definitely recommend these.

There is a good range of felt pad sizes, e.g. 3 round sizes which should cover most sizes of chair leg. There are 20 of each size of these, so each size will do 5 4-legged chairs. There are also strips and larger rectangular pads which can be cut to size. If you take care cleaning the foot of each chair leg before attaching the self-adhesive pads, they seem to stick well. Time will tell. The small rubber bumper pads have a totally different use, so why mix the two together in one package? I guess it helps to boost the contents number--Wow, 124 pads. What great value! This is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5.

Bought these to stick under out wooden chairs so that they don't scratch our wooden floor. They are easy to use and easy to measure out and fit. Initially they stick well but as expected with daily use and movement of the chairs they eventually start to come loose. It took approximately one year for it to come loose so that in my opinion is very acceptable. Also there are quite a few of them in the pack so can just put new ones after they wear out.

SIMALA Furniture Pads Floor Protectors are great for cutting down to a specific size. I have used these under sofas, table, four chairs and stools. Cutting the pads does require a good knife. The pads are easy to apply and the adhesive appears to be good. They are holding so far. If visible, the cuts look great under neutral colours but do stand out under darker colours such as black. I found the pre-cut pads useless as they're so small I didn't have any need for them. I would have preferred bigger pads instead.
