Good cheap wax for home waxing
I used to spend best part of ยฃ30 a time having my bikini & under arms waxed every 2 weeks. Having decided to do it myself (like most of my beauty routines) I invested in this wax to use with my wax pot. Itโs easy enough to use - highly recommend you oil yourself first, apply reasonably thick (doesnโt have to be inches thick, but if you spread it on too thin then it wonโt come off in one go) ensuring you have a bit of a bulky edge to use to grip. Once itโs started to set & is not so gooey to the touch I highly recommend you use the โpatโ method & tap the wax for a good few seconds to unstick it from your skin, so when you pull it off itโs not adhered to your skin as well as the hair. This will help to reduce the pain as well as ensuring the wax comes off easier. Pull against the direction of hair growth (so if the hair grows downwards, pull upwards). I invested in some wooden spatulas, almond oil, cotton wool pads and some old towels as part of my waxing kit. If you heat the wax too much it will be hard to apply more than a really thin layer and will burn you, so ensure your temperature is set correctly to get the best consistency. Youโll need to turn the temperature down as you get down the wax otherwise again youโll cook the wax and in turn burn yourself causing damage & peeling/blistering to your skin. Basically, for less than ยฃ10 I can easily get 2 waxes out of this which covers a full Brazilian, under arms and any other little bits such as eyebrows or toes. I have tried other brands and have come back to this one time and time again.

Amazing product - 100% recommend
Really good product. Thought I would give DIY waxing a go as professional waxing is so expensive, and in my experience not always that good. I am by no means a professional but didn't experience any of the problems that some customers have listed below e.g. flaky wax, difficulty in removing wax etc. If you have never had a professional wax then I wouldn't advise to try this as your first attempt because there is a technique to it which I picked up from watching what my beautician was doing. I used the Mylee wax heater and this tub fitted perfectly inside. It took around an hour on the hottest setting to fully melt so allow yourself lots of time. Once the wax has properly melted turn the heater down to medium to stop the wax being too runny. I applied talcum powder to the area I was waxing which is meant to ensure that the wax doesn't stick to the skin and just catches the hairs which stops it being too painful (it definitely was still painful but that is to be expected!) I applied the wax in the direction of the hair growth using a wooden spatula and did very small sections at a time leaving a 'handle' at the bottom. I waited about 30 seconds for the wax to go hard and pulled it off against the direction of the hair growth. It pulled almost every single hair out leaving your skin really smooth and pulled all the hairs from the root. It took me a really long time to do the whole area but that's the price you pay for waxing yourself, hopefully I will get quicker as I get more practice in. Overall a great product that will save you a fortune if you can tolerate the pain / have the time

Works but messy
Ok firstly a little bit of background, I have used warm wax before and it wasn't very effective, so therefore thought hard wax might be better. I didn't have a wax warmer so heated this wax by putting the tin in a saucepan of boiling water for about 10 minutes **warning! if you do this don't let the wax get into the saucepan because it is very hard to remove**. I used it on my bikini line. It did not come with a applicator so I used a stainless steel knife which I used a lighter to melt off the remaining wax after So I will say it does remove hair (not all but most) but it is the most painful thing you will do. It doesn't come with strips because you just peel of the wax when it is cooled. Be careful not to leave it too long or it becomes brittle and hard to remove about 2-4 minutes is about right depending on the thickness you spread it. I would suggest having it fairly thick as it helps when you are trying to rip it off. One thing I will say it is messy really messy. If that wax gets on fabric it is near impossible to remove, I found that the best way was to put a thick plastic bag under you which you can reuse. Also left over wax is very hard to remove from yourself, I find a hot shower works the best, you will also be a little red in the waxed area so I normally do it the day before the event I have waxed for. I've found it takes about 5 days to start growing back the more you use it the more time it will take to grow back. Basically it does work if you can handle the effort All in all it does work

Fabulous
This is an extremely good product. I bought cause of the quarantine with little expectations. I warmed it up in boiling water for about 45 minutes until liquid and started my bikini area small sections at a time. It takes a while but the result is amazing and could even do a total one. I was used to hard wax but only at salons, I used one nyself in the past bt was rubbish. This one is really easy to apply and take off, does not irritate the skin(well, for being a wax that takes off your hairs) and does not even make a mess.. will buy again and possibly even save money and not rely on the beautician anymore!

very good for coarse hair, but difficult to remove residue
pros: Heats well in the heater Removes hair very well, even very coarse ones cons: crumbles when left even a tad too long, resulting in a very painful procedure of removing remaining bits very difficult to wash residue afterwards, whether with oils and balms, under shower or what not - tried it all average in: gripping - I actually still use muslin strips with it, as it helps with gripping and even when it's crumbling half way through the patch, the muslin strip catches it preventing you from a painful operation of trying to grap the rest amount - you have to heat up the whole tin every single time as there is no way to portion it application can be tricky, as it can slid of the waxing spatula quite quickly, but some practice gets consistently better results

Gigi wax was recommended to me by a friend who does waxing professionally ...
I purchased this wax as I was sick and tired of shaving daily. Gigi wax was recommended to me by a friend who does waxing professionally and to start with I was quite sceptical as to if this wax would give me the same results as I had previously experienced at a salon. Well I can tell you that this wax is absolutely AMAZING. To start, I have super course hair, that normal Veet wax will not remove, but Gigi removes every single hair in the area that its placed. The great thing about this is that you don't need to mess around with applying paper or material sheets to pull the wax off, you simple flick over a corner when set and pull off in one go! TIPS: I would highly recommend that before starting the waxing process you wipe a very small amount of organic coconut oil onto the skin, VERY sparingly as you don't want to ruin the contact between wax and skin. Don't allow the wax to get to dry and brittle as its very hard to remove and hurts like hell. You should wait about 30 seconds after applying to remove the wax. Apply the wax in an even thickness, this ensures it catches all the hairs and comes off much easier. I can honestly say I will continue to purchase and use this wax, in fact I have just ordered another 3 pots so I don't run out! =D

Excellent for DIY use, especially with an extra pair of hands!
I was spending around ยฃ90 every 6 weeks for a complete wax in the salon (full legs, armpits and hollywood), which long term was a ridiculous amount of money. I decided to have a go at home waxing and roped my poor husband in to help me (I'm not a small girl, there was no way I could reach where I wanted to on my own!). The first few ventures were agonising (it's not as if he does this on the side or anything, it was his first time too!) but after a few months, we got to the point where he was just as good as my salon therapist. A few points for those who haven't used this before. 1. Spread towels down, to help with any wax spillage. It flakes easily when it dries, so even if it gets on stuff, it shouldn't be a huge issue. 2. I haven't tried Gigi's pre wax spray, I use outback organics pre wax cleanser and body oil. Cleanse with the cleanser and some cotton wool and then spray the oil on the area you're about to do, and then wipe off any excess. Don't apply it too far in advance because it will absorb, and you'll know it as soon as you try to get the wax off! 3. Use a spatula and apply in small strips- you can make them bigger as you get used to it, but it's more manageable this way. It's also way more comfortable to do smaller strips down south- although you can go too small and it will end up taking ages and hurting more in the process. Find the right balance. 4. You probably know this, but wax in the direction of the hairs, and remove in the opposite direction. Your position can affect how it comes off, if you aren't at a good angle to strip it off, you end up effectively pulling it off, and that just hurts and leaves a mess behind. Find the right spot. 5. Once the wax has been applied, use a cotton wool ball or pad, dipped in water and squeezed, just to dab on the wax. This will help harden the wax to a removable state without letting it harden too much. If you try to remove it too early, it's just going to stretch, and if you leave it too long it will become brittle, and snap. TOP TIPS 1- Use the oil beforehand. It makes a HUGE difference 2- When you spread the wax, use the spatula to make a small tag to use as a handle once it's firm. That avoids a lot of pain in trying to lift up the end on each strip and pulling at hairs as you do so, 3- When you remove, do it like you mean it. I know it seems like going slow will hurt less, but you would be wrong. It's like a plaster- the faster you do it, the better it is. 4- When you've stripped an area, press something to your skin straight away, it helps with the sting. Your hand is good, or a cold flannel, aerosol (it's nice and cold) etc. Personally, I keep the hard wax for sensitive areas and use the veet style cartridge roll ons for my legs. Additionally, when I was going to the salon, I was ending up with loads of really bad ingrowing hairs, which were getting infected and gross. I don't have any issues like that with this product. *Thrifty eco note: as gross as this sounds, if you have a log burner or open fire, toss the used wax into egg cartons with tumble drier lint, wrap in newspaper and tie up, and you have a guaranteed fire lighter. They're amazing. And made completely from waste. Win win..
