Product Description ------------------- Suttons collection comprises 5 easy-to-grow annual and perennial varieties in individual packets - Aquilegia long spurred hybrids - striking flowers in a host of colours in May - June the year after sowing. For sun or partial shade. Height 90 cm. N.B /s harmful if eaten. Aster ostrich plume mix - large, double, feathery flower heads in many colours. Will flower in late summer from a spring sowing. For sun or partial shade. Height 45 cm. Cornflower tall double mix - for cut flowers/borders in many colours mid-late summer. Attractive, double flowers. Sunny position. Height 90 cm. Hollyhock chaters mix - statuesque s for the back of a border. Semi-double blooms on long flower spikes are borne May - July the year after sowing. Sunny position. Height 1.8 m. Lupin Russell mix - Handsome s with attractive leaves and stately spikes of flower in a wide range of colours the year after sowing. For sun or partial shade. Height 90 cm. NB. /s harmful if eaten. How to grow - Choose a sunny sheltered spot where your border will be, then dig over the soil removing weeds and incorporating a fertiliser if necessary. Rake the soil to a warm, moist, crumbly surface and sow your cornflower and aster direct, thinly but evenly across the chosen area. Rake in gently. For the aquilegia, hollyhock and lupin prepare a small 'seedbed' in a similar way to above and sow the seed in rows. Thin your seedlings of cornflower and aster to a final spacing of 15-23 cm and 30-38 cm respectively. Thin seedlings of aquilegia, hollyhock and lupin in their 'seedbed' to 15 cm initially and then, when they are approx. 15 cm high, they can be moved to their permanent site spacing the aquilegia at 38 cm, Hollyhock 38-45 cm and Lupin 45 cm to flower the following year. Quality control - This seed has been carefully tested to ensure high germination. Prior to use, store in a dry cool place. Average growing height: 31-40 cm.
