JCHENG Infrared Light 12-Led IR Illuminator Long Range for 850nm Night Vision Security Camera and VR Systems

This ir light is good. When buying one please don't just look at the manufacturers distance or power ratings. choosing a very powerful light can have totaly adverse affect on what u see in image. The good cctvs have aperture in the lens, that will open n close to match the intensity of light. If you buy an ir led that lits up to 50m, it depends on situation. For eg you installed 15w behind your house to lit a 50m garden, and you have few cars or vans at 10m distance and the gate at 50m distance. You may be assuming that camera will clearly show the white van and your black gate at 50m. No it wont, the ir light will make your vehicles parked up at 10m so bright that the cctv will have to tighten its aperture reaulting in darkening the overall image, hence your gate will turn even darker than it was without the ir light. If in such situation, try to buy couple or more less powerfull lights and place them around at different place to get proper vision. Buying just one big powerfull wont always work as intended. If using indoors and postioning along with the camera will give harsh affect, try to bounce it to the ceiling and you get proper 3d affect. At night to the naked eye it just shows a very dull red glow but to your driveway CCTV its a headlamp highlighting your cars. it has auto shutoff in daylight. its not steerable but it floods the whole area. It can deceive other visible outdoor security lights into deactivation thinking its still daylight at night, easily fixed by tweaking their daylight switch off threshold to a higher brightness.

This is exactly what I wanted. Security camera nightvision is great but the LEDs are tightly focussed. This floodlamp is very bright and lights up a wide area. The built in auto-shutoff when it detects daylight is a great feature too as it means I can just leave it switched on all the time without wasting electricity (not that it uses a lot even at night as the light comes from LEDs). I was going to mount it outside as I know window glass blocks some IR frequencies, but seems to let 850nm through fine, hence I can't comment on how waterproof the enclosure is in practice but can tell you it works through double glazing.

Unit worked well initially but upon checking the CCTV last week I realised it had starting flashing on and off. Was hoping it would have lasted longer than 2 years.

4years later and this lamp is still working 100%. Can't fault it at all.

Using this in my back garden and it makes such a difference to the camera image. You don't need to have this directly underneath he camera either, mine is a couple of metres away and it lights up the whole garden.

Arrived quick and feels well made. Description says IP67, sticker on product says IP66. Never got installed outside as it only gave a very weak, thin, horizontal light, that barely reached about 10 meters. Only gave 1 star because it came with an adapter that the description says is NOT included.

illuminator works very well , i can now see a large area lit up like using a large spot light which without the illuminator was very dark , would definitely buy from this seller again , prompt delivery and reasonable price ,

I have two models similar to this, but they do not have the wider angle as this JCheng version. This one achieves a greater angle because of the head of each bulb having a pattern. Smart idea. Another way to achieve a wider angle is cheesecloth over the lamp. This JC IR is better than my prior two illuminators because of the angle of illumination, it runs cool, and it has a photosensor so the IR lamps only turn on in relative or absolute darkness. For outside security cameras, this unit is a must. It allows illumination for at least 200 feet. However, wish these illuminators were constructed with the lamps closer to the glass cover and perhaps protruding without a glass cover. This would achieve at least 180 degree illumination. For unclear reasons every one of these units have the bulbs too recessed.

Faccio questa recensione dopo il secondo acquisto, il primo è stato effettuato circa un anno fa. Tutt'ora fa il suo magnifico lavoro, permettendo alla telecamera di riprendere una stradina lunga circa 30 metri, passando da una scarsa visione a quasi giorno. Visto che ha superato anche gli infiniti temporali di quest'anno, ne ho acquistato un'altro per il giardino.

Funciona bien e ilumina con claridad un area de 12 metros de ancho a 8 metros de distancia. Sería mejor que viniera con el adaptador de 220v

Die IR Lampe ist, mit der IP Kamera gesehen, sehr hell. Im Nahbereich fast zu hell. Ich würde mir heute die nächst kleiner nehmen oder sie etwas entfernter montieren. In jedem Fall tut sie, was sie soll und wir sind sehr zufrieden
