I bought this Wahl 6 Piece beard trimmer because sometimes you do not need a grooming device that claims to revolutionise your lifestyle, align your chakras, and connect to an app. Sometimes you just need something that cuts hair properly. This is basically Ronseal with blades: it does exactly what it says on the tin. The quality is great, it feels robust, and this is actually my second purchase in about ten years, which in modern appliance terms makes it practically a family heirloom. I briefly strayed to a competitor version with all sorts of bells, whistles, attachments, and grooming promises, but after about eight months it gave up like a cheap umbrella in a storm. So I went back to old faithful Wahl, the sensible trimmer equivalent of a reliable mate who turns up on time and owns a decent toolbox. It does not need a massive marketing campaign telling you it can now cut fourteen different body zones and possibly trim a hedge. It cuts hair. Beard hair, head hair, probably dog hair if the dog was willing, and frankly I would not bet against it giving a tiger a tidy-up if you were brave enough and had completed your affairs first. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. Five stars for doing the job properly, lasting years, surviving my brief betrayal with a flashier model, and proving that sometimes the best technology is just a solid little machine that cuts hair without needing a motivational video.

I bought this as a stop gap when my last stubble trimmer broke and after reading some pretty favourable reviews. I have had it a few months now and have used it nearly everyday to maintain a short stubble, about 1 day's growth (0.4mm) which if used with no attachments it can do. It's not perfect as it will miss the odd hair but with a quick double check and retrim it is fine. The price too is a bargain, a lot cheap than most so for the money I would recommend trying it. My only criticisms would be it takes a long time to charge and lasts no more then a few days or so of shaving before it needs another charge. Also the build quality is not great, the on/off button feels like its going to come off and when shaving you can sometimes hear the speed changing and not because of the battery needing charging. To summarise it does a good job for the money but if you want perfection and a product that will last you a good few years perhaps look elsewhere.

Very pleasantly surprised how great this beard trimmer is, feels good in the hand and works easily . Looks well made and ergonomically made. And all this for about fourteen pounds , absolute bargain and would recommend.

This Wahl trimmer is pretty much as you would expect from something of this price. Firstly, Wahl is a brand leader in male personal grooming and this is reflected in the quality of the product. In the box one receives the trimmer with a number of components for styling and grooming one's beard. They all appear to be of a high quality and after almost a year of use I can attest that the trimmer is still in full working order. The trimmer does allow for a wide range of facial hair upkeep and maintenance, and by removing all of the blades one can pretty much shave their beard off almost completely if looking for a cleaner look. What disappoints me about this product is the battery life. It seems that over the year it has deteriorated significantly. It used to be able to charge for half a day and would last for an hour of use - i.e. many weeks/months without needing further charging. At this point in time after every 5 minutes of use it needs another charge for 6 hours or so. With the amount of charging it requires it's probably costing me the same in electricity every month as just buying a new one from Wahl! I know that it's a lot cheaper than comparable products from Phillips etc so for those looking for a quick fix you might still find this product reasonable.

It's really sharp and cuts so well. Lots of accessories and a stand. Very light weight and perfect for elderly people to hold and trim. It's not as noisy as people made it out. It's normal for trimmers. Over all a great product at a great price and very pleased with the purchase. Highly recommended.

I purchased this because it was cheap and available quickly. This was a mistake on my part. The trimmer is exactly as I thought CHEAP you would be much better off going with a known brand such as Philips or Rimington ect. I was under the impression Wahl was a name brand, but I have a feeling I was wrong. I have owned this trimmer for over a year now and use it probably once every couple of months at the most. After the first use I charged the trimmer and when I next went to ise it, the trimmer was dead! So I charged it up overnight and used the next day then placed back on charge overnight before storing. A few days later I decided to check the battery and sure enough it was dead again!!! Its at this point I should have returned the item but as I use it quite infrequently I didn't bother. Since discovering the battery issue I jave basically had to charge it the day before I want to ise it every time. Aside from the huge battery issue which could indeed be a one off, the cut is pretty poor. It can't handle thicker beard hair and misses lots and lots of hair meaning you need to make many many passes to get a clean cut and even then you will probably find some that have been missed. The way the plastic tat attaches to the end to alter the length is also pretty poor and can fairly easily fall off I paid about £12 for this on offer, I think its barely worth half that, and in fact it won't operate at all anymore so jave now purchased a Philips unit that wasn't that much more but is on a different level entirely. No more pointy on/off switch digging into my thumb while having to make a million passes!

The Kit arrived safely although the box in was put in was very battered and thought the trimmer might be damaged but it was OK when I opened it. Good trimmer though.

Very plastic, a few of the combs don’t fit into the blade…. Overall - feels very cheap.

Haven't had it that long but so far I'm pleased with the performance and the quality.

What i expected before buy,the same i feel now....its a amazing product..durable long life battery...the long lasting power has provide a long life to use.....once i recharged and i have been used more than 4 times and i never charge again in between the gap days... almost the period of 1 month..... 1.strongly agree the power back up(one time charge will come more time trimm) 2.Stronglly agree the reliablity of the machine. 3.Genuine product from amazon. 4.perfect fit for the very close trimm(i think none other machine can't give this close hair cut like a shave) 5.Attachments are nice to see but the plastic things wont come for the long life and blade replacement. Totally i feel a worth product.......for the worth price....enjoy

Easy to use portable clipper no power lead to get in the way. Cuts cleanly without catching hairs. Great for shaping and finishing at neck and ears.
