OXO Good Grips Pop Up Cookbook Holder

I was finally fed up of using kitchen items to hold down the pages of my book so bought this great product. Some main points that I think are great:1. Very nice build quality, has a sold base that will hold all of my cook books.2. Splash shield to stop my books from being covered in everything I cook, this is very handy to me as I'm a very messy cook and you can see already what recipes we use the most by how many stains are on the page!3. Ability to put in items like an Ipad, the guard covers the screen and slots into place like a book.4. The ability to fold down for storage, it won't be totally flat due to the thick base but its turns into the size of a cook book for storage, handy if you don't have work top space to leave it out all the time.Overall very happy with the item and would highly recommend.

I found that this holds cookbooks well and is easy to use. The front panel (which a lot of other cookbook holders don't have) keeps the books clean. The only problem is that if you are using a single page (eg that you have torn out from a magazine) then the back is not high enough and the page curls over the back. You have to put a book behind the single page. Nevertheless this is a useful kitchen aid.

I bought this as a gift for my mother and she loves it, I'm considering getting one myself. Designed to be used with a good old cook book or a tablet, it's useful for all kinds of situations, even just as a way of protecting your tablet while you watch TV while you cook. The real stand out feature for me is that it folds up to become the size of a book and can be slotted onto a bookshelf out of the way when it's not needed. Many cook book stands are fixed and are difficult to store and have to sit out on your side taking up space. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to cook a lot in the kitchen, especially if you're a messy cook, and also to anyone who uses their tablet in any kind of messy conditions.

This is great for your cookery books and you can also use your iPad in it. A great stand that has replaced the tins and jars I previously used to hold a book open as I cooked !!!This stand folds down flat, so you can store it on your bookshelf - a billy bonus - as my mother's stand is different and really bulky on the work top, when not in use.It was delivered incredibly quickly, so all in all you can't go wrong - good value for money and a very useful stand.

Such a shame, as the structure and design are both very good. As soon as I placed a book behind the plastic though, I noticed a light brown mark, like a stain, in the plastic. It was only visible once there was a white page behind it. I thought maybe it would wipe off, but it was apparent that the mark was WITHIN the plastic/perspex and not on it.If I'd only paid a fiver for it I may have lived with it, but as it cost me £18 well, I'm sorry to say it had to go back. I will now look for another. I'd really like another OXO Good Grips one, but I am wary of getting another with the same fault, so I'll have to look elsewhere.

Really pleased with this purchase! The angle makes it so much easier to read recipes and the screen offers protection from splashes. No more hassle trying to find the page again because the book won't stay open! An added advantage is that it folds away when not in use. (Not that I 've done that yet) Tablets fit perfectly too. I have bought another one as a gift.

Great modern looking holder, practical too with the plastic front to keep pages clean! Gift for my daughter along with cook books for her new home. It would be good if it had an illuminated part at the front to light up the pages if cooking in dim lighting, just a thought. But great product anyway.

I love this product. Bought 3 as for 3 seperate people for xmas including one for my kitchen. Very smart and neatly tucks away with the cook books on the shelf.It is quite sturdy too, you don't feel like it's going to fall apart in your hands.Only downer is although you can put a tablet in the stand comfortably, you obvioulsy cannot scroll (or use the tablet touch screen) with the plastic cover over it.
