My pom has a collapsed trachea started using this in his water every morning the last 2 weeks and his coughing has subsided. As my pom is very fussy I didn't think he would drink it as it smells but hey ho he waits for it every morning. He will be on it for life now, one happy fur baby mum.

Seems to be working well for my dog who keeps eating apples and coughing after. Will be buying again as you can't go wrong for the price.

The taste the dogs didn't like and spat it out

My border collie has been developing a cough over a year or so. We’ve mentioned it to vets who asked limited questions but didn’t offer any diagnosis or treatment. It was getting worse. I first treated him for a possible infection like bronchitis and then followed on with this Pets Purest Cough Drops. He has been on this for about two months and his cough is dramatically improved. I give it 2X daily, morning and night directly into his mouth. I think it may be trachea collapse as it is an ongoing thing that needs regular treatment or it returns. But this product keeps it at bay. People should learn basic medical care for their pets and children and be independent as possible. Update: on my 3rd bottle. Cough definitely returned when we let up with this and stays calmed down so long as I give my dog a dose morning and before bed. He does sometimes get a flare up so I use other things on occasion if that happens. Additionally he is getting half a tablet of cetirazine for allergies at the minute. But there is a noticeable improvement when he takes this twice a day every day. However, I have noticed some mild wheezing so I may try another formulation for breathing.

Edit : update: unfortunately after writing my raving review , the past couple of weeks it has stopped working completely.. I even tried double the dosage. Not sure if it’s the hot weather making her cough so much worse but the drops are not helping int he slightest all of a sudden! Back to the drawing board to find something that helps 😞 This stuff is incredible. My dog was diagnosed with collapsing trachea at the start of the year after having persistant coughing. Tried several things from the vets but nothing really got rid of her cough. I tried this and within a couple of days the cough was much much less and then by the end of the week the cough had completely gone. I’ve been using this for two months now , every morning straight onto her tongue after breakfast and she hasn’t coughed since. I purposely went a couple of days without giving her any to see if it was the cough drops helping or if the cough has just cleared up itself but within those couple of days off these cough drops , her cough came back again! As soon as I gave her a dose the cough went and hasn’t come back. I’ll be using this everyday for my little dog. It’s been a life saver and she’s much happier and back to herself now she’s not instantly coughing too. Highly recommend. I did initially use the drops on her food but I’ve found it works better straight into her mouth- she doesn’t particularly like it but tolerates it. So glad I gave this a try and it’s not too expensive either like some of the others I have seen online!

Helped ease dogs cough without going to the vet

I purchased this in good faith as is a natural compound and better for our animals. On further research with the herbs used in this,to my annoyance I have seen that Coltsfoot,long term can affect the liver,so if you have any animals using this product, please don't! I have been in contact with pets purest directly, they sent me a reply yesterday saying "Coltsfoot does naturally contain compounds that can be harmful to the liver in larger quantities or with prolonged use. Because of this, we wouldn’t recommend extended or regular use of products containing coltsfoot for dogs with existing liver concerns. That said, if your dog has only had the cough medication for a short period (such as around a week), we wouldn’t be overly concerned. The potential risks are generally associated with larger amounts or long-term exposure. As we’re not veterinary professionals, we’re unfortunately unable to provide specific medical advice. For tailored guidance based on your dog’s individual condition, we would always recommend speaking with your vet, who will be best placed to advise on what is safe and suitable.
