What's the different between a forestry safety helmet and a chainsaw helmet

Some of the forestry safety helmets have extra support back neck straps and may have chin straps to help the helmet to stay in place when say looking down from a height - all have head size adjustment. Standard chainsaw helmets may not have chin or neck straps and are ideal for cutting blocks at ground level and general use with eye mesh shields and ear protection. To be honest the difference is not that great unless you are a full time lumberjack. Hope this helps Heather.

What size range does it fit ? Will it be ok for a 24" circumference head ?

Yep , i'm a 24" big head and it will adjust out more . . .and it's comfortable fit .

Can you get a perspex visor to fit this?

Sorry, but I don't know. The helmet comes with only the removable mesh visor so a perspex visor would have to have holes cut in it to allow the locking lugs on the helmet to secure it. If you're concerned that the mesh visor restricts vision, then relax, it doesn't! I've used this kind of helmet and visor for many years and they're absolutely fine. The visor is easily raised and lowered, it's effective against flying debris, acts as a pair of sunglasses (an unexpected benefit), and allows air to circulate freely - so no misting up. No The ear Defenders ar not detachable but can be moved up out of the way
