IP Camera Wireless Outdoor Wifi HD 720P KNEWMART Cam Home Surveillance Camera Day Night Remote Viewing

After using an unreliable 'bodged' together system of Raspberry Pi's and cheap webcams I felt it was time to do it properly. I purchased a total of three of these cameras (The first being bought to test if it would do what I wanted). The quality of the cameras are good when you consider the price, the body is made from aluminium so should be fairly weatherproof. The seller sends a useful email containing instructions, links to video tutorials and also contact details should you need any support. To set the cameras up they have to initially be connected to your router via a network cable (included in the box), but once the wifi settings have been entered this can be disconnected - remember to reboot the camera to connect to wifi though! After reading other reviews I didn't use the supplied software I used ContaCam (its freeware and easy to use). ContaCam found the cameras without hassle and with minimum setup, although the frame rate dropped to around 6fps even though the camera was streaming at 25fps - but this probably down to using wifi and my network being overloaded with other devices! I would recommend the you give the camera a fixed IP address to prevent the IP address changing to due powering up/router reboots and also wifi extenders placed close to the cameras if the router is a distance away. Pros: Good quality build and excellent price. Fairly easy to setup Compatible with lots of free surveillance software Cons: The ethernet connection is large (a 1/2" diameter hole needs to be drilled or the option I went for was a small weatherproof junction box fitted next t the camera) The WiFi aerial can limit the angle of the camera especially if the camera is pointed to the right. The power lead is quite short - you can buy proper extenders. Overall a great little camera for a great price.

Good bright picture but slow.. can`t set time but date ok .. Same result on Samsung GalaxyS5/S7 and Tab S 10.5. Software could be better. Works on PC using ISpy and ip camera software but resolution low (640x480) needs better software !

This was an Impulse buy for me that I now regret. I work in IT so stuff like this should be straight forward and exciting to setup, however this item seems to have more issues than a magazine stand! The item arrived a day early than expected which was Great, it was well packed and the item looks nice and solid. Built in an aluminium body that is nice and compact over all looks great! Problems started when I tried to set it up: 1. Instructions are VERY brief. 2. It comes with a Mini Disc. Who uses discs these days, let alone mini discs. 3. The device can't connect to my Wifi. (on both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz) it only works over ethanet (cable). The third point makes this camera Useless in my opinion as I would need to run cable from one end of the house to the other, drill through walls as well as channel them in walls which will cost more than my mortgage, and after doing all that who's to say the camera will last that long. Very disappointed with this item and frankly, has been very stressful as I was trying to get it working.

I purchased this camera as an addition to my growing home-brew CCTV system (based on ZoneMinder) so granular configuration and OVIF support are essential. The camera is supplied with wall fixings, a DVD, 5 volt power supply and Ethernet cable. Unfortunately the camera doesn't support PoE and being that it's 5 volt rather than the typical 12 volt, I can't use my existing PoE adaptors either however, the supplied power adapter is a genuine UK type and doesn't need any mains adapters so that's a good thing. The camera case and bracket are constructed from aluminium so no worries about rust or weathering and it includes an adjustable hood to assist with keeping any glare at bay. The wireless antenna screws into a connector on the rear which is difficult to remove of tamper with once sized to the wall which is an advantage. The power and Ethernet cables connect via a plug on a tail which facilitates a convenient single cable coming from the ca, feed via the bracket so that it can be run or of the bottom of the bracket externally to a box or straight out the back of the wall bracket through the whatever is fixed to. Getting started really couldn't have been any easier, literally connect the power and Ethernet and install the phone app, tap add then 'LAN search' and the camera appeared. Tapping the 'i' button provides simple access to set/change things like the admin password, the wireless network details, motion alerts and push notifications. The IR cut feature provides high quality HD surveillance in daytime and very good infra-red night vision when daylight is insufficient. When connecting to my ONVIF CCTV system, the camera was discovered without any configuration needed, just the username and password with two streams available to choose. I am very pleased with this camera an need would gladly recommend it.

I have installed this unit, initial setup is easy enough, but can be a bit baffling, I have tried to set the unit up to post videos to my server rather that just on the mobile, i have ended up with photos on my server and videos on my mobile, but cant fine anyway of changing this. Also I have it set to record on motion detect and to record on that, but unless I have it on live view on my mobile and set it recording it will not record, and you need to have live view visible on your mobile at all time. I also tried the app, which you can download via a web address on a leaflet that comes with the unit. It took over a dozen tries to download the software onto my MacBook as the issuing server kept disconnecting partway through the download. the app is pretty basic. I have tried changes via my mobile, directly through the web interface, my nether surveillance app and the software but to no avail. its cheap enough but I cant at this stage recommend it. If I get any improvements Ill update my review

Good product clear picture - phone app has to be used rather than the browser HTML configuration as you cannot enable the Email on alarm without it. That's a bit of an issue for me due to the amount of unexplained permissions it requires. If you don't care about the permissions then the app works great for monitoring the camera and requires minimum networking knowledge / no port forwarding etc. but if you do want to use it with other phone apps (IPcamviewer) or pc security apps (iSPY) then it works fine with a bit of device and router configuration.

There are several issues with this camera, firstly the ethernet and power mount sticks out the back and cannot be removed. This makes it almost impossible to mount as you cant put the wire though the wall. Also this camera cannot record video via FTP only images. I suppose this is because it doesn't have enough on board storage space to keep the video. in zone manager I was not able to get a preview to work or video recording but I was able to get it to send me images. The video quality is ok and the night vision is surprisingly good. If you really do just want to access it from your phone and get pictures recorded I suppose its ok but I returned it.

WOW - what a super piece of kit . I have to admit I was very sceptical of this product because of how cheap it was , I've never had any real cameras before but decided to get one to watch my front garden , driveway and front door , this camera is of fixed position and does not zoom in and out but the picture is awesome , colour and clarity excellent , it has night vision with an excellent clear image even once the streetlights have gone out , and to top it off the phone app and set up was a breeze - advise having a QR scanner app on your phone ready as this company provide a very handy little leaflet with a QR code on - scan this and the camera app will automatically download - enter your wifi security password and it's job done and to even further praise this product the next day I decided to try the camera app at work and it just worked - there was a crisp clear image of my house - well happy now as can keep an eye on my home whilst I'm at work - took a picture of my neighbour putting my bin back remotely at work and sent it to them - we had quite a laugh with that . I'm now ordering another one for my back garden to watch my shed garage and back door . Also great for viewing wildlife , left it recording all night and to my delight when viewing the next morning saw a hedgehog wandering in my garden in the middle of the night ! It's a great little budget camera without all the bells and whistles for peace of mind security for your home .
