Best game you will ever play
This game had a lot to live up to. Excellent game play, a levelling system that kept you wanting more, a great online system, Xur!! And it has delivered, Graphics are better then last year i play with a ps4 pro on a 4k UHD tv and they look sharp and crisp and ikora looks a different women! Sound is amazing the music is great and atmospheric along with the rumble on head shots through the controller is a delight. Cinematic's are vastly improved although they have tried to make Cayde-6 dead pool which is a little underwhelming. Levelling up is just as grinding, frustrating and fun and makes you want to come back time and time again. Nightfalls are not just a one play wonder you want to go back to complete all the tasks set to you a great addition. One let down is the shaders!!! oh my goodness what a let down and instead of bungie admitting an error they insist you will enjoy going back to get the shaders time and time again......you won't! Overall this will stop me playing Cod, Fifa and Wrestling, and i had bought the absolver and that won't get much play time because destiny is that good!

100% Honest Review
I thought i would write exactly what i thought, with 100% Honesty, because this game was hyped up so much, the trailers were good, very good in fact. The intro of the game is fantastic. Absolutely Awesome Intro to a game. I'm not going to ruin the story, but the music paired with the situation, is just incredible, one of the best intro's to any game I've ever played. I must admit, when you get to the "Central Hub" for all the players, i was also impressed with how many people were playing it on day 1! The pace after the intro drops Dramatically, and then it gores back to the same old travelling around doing missions etc. But it's not as grindy as destiny 1. In destiny it was "go to point A, kill Some mobs, go to point B, do the same blah blah" In Destiny 2 you are actually working towards an end goal, restoring power on Saturns Moon, Titan being a prime example. Your objective isn't pointless like the first game. Go to this point, kill this boss, end of mission. Here's a helm for your hard work. The graphics also impressed me. I am a PC gamer through and through, but decided to buy this on console sorely for the community and population (Don't ask). Anyway, everything looks good visibly, and although i'm utter S*** with a controller, it's still relativity smooth. The PVP is also very good, Very similar to the first game. You can quickplay or you can play competitive, if you have £40 to drop on a new controller after you rage and throw it at a wall. Sadly I haven;'t done a strike yet, but I've heard they'e awesome! Now you may have seen i Gave it 4 stars, why not 5? One simple answer. The PVP matchmaking takes FOREVER to find a game. Now this may just be because it as day one, but it literally took me 15 minutes to find and get into a game. I'm sure this will change when the game has been out for slightly longer, and when it does i'll change it to 5 stars. Everything the first game should have been. No Problems as of yet, but will update when/if things change. EDIT: Thank you for all the helpful votes, and taking the time to read through my Review. :) So i thought i would update my review, and there a few things i need to mention. CLANS: The In game Clan System doesn't work at the moment, the only way to manage it currently is on the bungie address, or to download the app. I also find it's hard to communicate within the clan, as not everyone owns the app and that's a bit of a pain. I know there is an in game feature currently in Beta, that will allow players to find others, so you can participate in The weekly Nightfall, and hopefully in the future the raid, but we'll see how that works out. End Game Content: So i'm Light level 261, (Same as ilvl in wow basically, max is 300 i believe) and i got there by grinding the crucible, and strikes, which kinda felt like a chore by the time i got there. Collect Rep coins to get Legendary Engrams from the crucible guy takes maybe 5/6 games of PVP which isn't actually that much, But the RNG seems quite fair, so most of the time you'll get some decent stuff. I find that you're more likely to get exotics/Legendary's from doing strikes, but that could just be luck. I know this is only week one, they are going to be adding content every week, Xur is making a return with those juicy exotic Engrams on week two. Micro transactions: This is possibly the Most disappointing in game addition, but i myself haven't actually bought anything, and i don't plan too. Before i start bi*ching about it, i want to mention that realistically, people do use the service, so automatically, they know they will actually make money from putting in the game. Honestly, people who moan about microtransactions are the people who mostly fall for the trap of spending hundreds of pounds/dollars/euro's etc in the game. putting it bluntly, if you want games to stop containing microtransactions, then stop buying in game currency with IRL money and then they'll stop putting them in the game, Period.

Destiny Reloaded
If you liked Destiny then you will love this game. They have kept all the things that made the first one so good and massivley revamped every aspect of the game to make it even better. The gameplay feels slick and polished. The user interface has undergone a transformation making it so much easier to access key information. Maps display public events and allow you to fast travel to certain sections. Tracking missions are easily accessed by the left trigger and you no longer have to go into orbit before travelling anywhere. There are also sublte changes, for instance you no longer need to equip all your best light items to get the best upgrade. This is calcualted for you whether your item is back in the vault, on another character or simply not equipped. The enimies have all been tweaked and the animations and modelling look much better. Some of the guns i have encountered have been awesome, they have managed to create yet another set of amazing weapons that make it a joy to blast your way through each mission. There seems to be a lot more to do now and I can easily see this being a game I come back to again and again,

An improvement over the original but is that really enough?
Destiny 2 does deliver more content than the original vanilla Destiny but why some people think that warrants it 5 stars I don't know. The story mode is now longer, graphics are improved and there seem to be more side quests to do but in general the game doesn't seem to have evolved. Essentially it feels like I'm playing Destiny 1.5. STORY Bad guys want to take the travellers power and you need to stop them. That's what its about in a nutshell. Its not that gripping but better than the non existent story from the original. There seems to be more cut scenes this time round with Nathan Fillions character Cayde-6 being the most entertaining. The other characters just aren't that interesting or likeable. Oh also you lose your "light" at the beginning of the game meaning you lose all your powers but literally no longer than 20 minutes later you get it straight back so not really sure what the point of that was... Despite having more cutscenes I'm still completely in the dark over the backstory of the Destiny world. I know there's supposed to be all this lore but why cant it be in the damn game, didn't this game cost hundreds of millions to make? Can we not get a full game for it Bungie? CHARACTER CREATION/GEAR Oh boy. Its EXACTLY the same as Destiny 1. You have the exact same generic faces and hairstyles to choose from (Several of which look ridiculous in my opinion) This is just plain lazy and there's no defending it whatsoever. Titans seem to have gotten the short stick for gear. I started out with this class and have hated every armor set I've found resulting in creating another character as a Warlock which seem to look a lot more interesting. As usual you have the grind of levelling up your character and finding new armor/weapons which I actually don't mind however something I noticed while playing was that every piece of gear I found was so dull with washed out colours. Then I found out why. SHADERS. Shaders essentially turn your dull boring gear into cool shiny colours and make It look much more appealing. In Destiny 1 they had unlimited uses and you could switch them out whenever you wanted. In Destiny 2 they are a ONE TIME use and you have to apply them individually to each piece of gear. That means if you want all your gear to be the same colour including weapons you need to find about 8 shaders of the same colour and once you use them you cant just switch to another colour and go back again because that shader will be gone. What's worse is the only shaders that look decent and are worth using are the Legendary ones. But as you would expect these are much harder to come by therefore when you eventually do get enough Legendary shaders you don't even want to use them because at the same time you are trying to find higher level gear to level up your character. For example you change the colour of all your armor but then find new armor you want to wear then you'll need to find the shaders all over again. This is by far the stupidest system and I don't know what they were thinking. Only I do know what they were thinking because you can get shaders in "bright engrams" BRIGHT ENGRAMS Bright engrams are essentially mystery boxes which contain possible legendary armor, shaders, ships etc. You can earn them in game while playing but at a fairly slow pace. Or you can buy them for real money. Again the contents aren't guaranteed so you basically just need to be lucky to get what you want. I'd be surprised if this doesn't encourage some kind of gambling habit in kids, spending money on something with no guaranteed chance of getting what you want. And to be honest Bungie we already spent £48 on the damn game so stop taking the p*** MULTIPLAYER (PVP CRUCIBLE) Well i'll keep it short. If you can always be in a fireteam with your friends you'll do well in the pvp. If you don't have friends to play with constantly and have to rely on the matchmaking you might struggle to win as many games. Often you'll get matched onto a team with randoms who seem to be of a much lower skill set and your opposing team will be part of a Clan resulting in them winning usually. All games are 4v4 and have the usual modes. Team deathmatch, capture zones etc. Its ok but nothing new. EXPANSION PASS When I looked in the case and saw the leaflet for expansion passes 1 & 2 I thought wow you actually get the first 2 expansions free. But no.. its just a leaflet telling you to buy the expansion pass which will no doubt be another £20 or more per expansion.. My biggest issue with this is by the time you buy all the available exapansions you've spent over £100 on a game and it just doesn't feel worth that to me. SUMMARY Yes it's a bigger game, yes the graphics look better, yes it has a story this time. But for me there's barely anything new, in some ways it almost feels like a step back even. Therefore for me its not a 5 star game. If you haven't played Destiny before then this will feel fresh and probably keep you entertained for a couple months especially if you are into loot based games. However if you played the original destiny then the whole thing will feel very familiar so it might even be worth waiting until they release the game with the expansions included.

Top marks, a benchmark.
Absolutely great game, takes the original and raises it to the next level, it's tighter, more focused. The combat is visceral, the guns just feel right. So far in the campaign feels great, difficulty is just right. The graphics are stunning. There aren't many games where merely exploring the world is an absolute joy. Apart from the foggy caves and sewers which become terrifyingly claustrophobic when you only have a flashlight for illumination and you know something is lurking! The music is incredible...walking out of the ruined city at the start sets the perfect tone. You are defeated and boy does it feel like it. I've mentioned feel a few times and it really does drag you in emotionally, esp if you were a fan of the original. And it feels right. That hard to explain sense of lots of small elements adding up and making for a great experience.

buy it.
Brilliant game that feels new, rich and oozing charm. Massive improvement on the first one; graphically, story, musically, and a whole multitude of quests and adventures. Best game on PS4 right now. Never crashed once although I'm running on normal PS4. Don't listen to the idiots who think it's rubbish, they probably haven't bought it yet of if they have still haven't figured out where the disc slot is...I'm 42, a casual ok gamer of many years, who has completed more games than he cares to recall, across a range of consoles and in my considered and experienced opinion, it's a stunning launch. Long may it grow into something even more spectacular.
