Over 1 million of the Tales That Tell The Truth series have been sold! Journey from the Garden of Eden to Godโs perfect new creation to understand why Jesus' death and resurrection are good news for us. This beautiful hardback Bible storybook for 3-6 year olds takes children on a journey from the Garden of Eden to Godโs perfect new creation. It is a gospel presentation that focuses on the significance of the temple curtain. God said โbecause of your sin you canโt come inโ, but the moment the curtain tore in two, everything changed. Children will learn why Jesus died and rose again and why thatโs the best news ever. This bestselling book is written by Carl Laferton, who is also the author of God's Big Promises Bible Storybook, and serves as series editor of the God's Word for You series. Review: An amazing book - This is an amazing book to share the story of Jesus with children. It explains God's plan of salvation so beautifully for children to understand. I'm blown away with how the book summaries God's plan for us. Can't wait for my grandnephew to read it. Review: Fabulous Book - I almost didn't buy this book as there was no 'look inside' feature but I went ahead based on the other reviews. This is an amazing book, beautifully illustrated and although it is written for young children the adults that I showed it to were riveted by the design lay out and the colours. The garden of Eden is so beautifully presented in vibrant colours but when we get to the story of Jesus on the cross the pages become darker and have a two page length ways spread out. Children will quickly learn about creation, the significance of the temple curtain being torn in two at the time of Jesus' death and the joy of the resurrection, in a way that they can enjoy and understand. This is the gospel story told in such a way that it will appeal to children and adults alike. I cannot praise this book enough or find words to adequately do it justice. I have been recommending The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross to my friends, one of whom went straight home after reading my copy to order it for the church Sunday school. Fabulous, fabulous book!!! 10 stars if it were possible!

A lovely book that is open to different understandings our final destination
Children's Christian books/Bible books might seem easy (it's just the usual stories, right?) but they're actually very difficult to get right. Do you make God cuddly or powerful? How much blood and gore do you include? And, crucially, how much do they make the gospel message a "hard sell"? This book is illustrated beautifully, starting bright and colourful, going browny and harsh-looking in the middle, and then finishing with a return to the colours to match the message. At first I didn't think I'd get along with it as the Eden story is introduced in quite a literal fashion (As in, "a long time ago, on this earth, there was a garden...") but I suppose for a children's book, that's OK, even if most Christians I know would probably believe in the Genesis account as symbolic and a "why" rather than a "how" story. So, I was holding my breath as I read it to the end with my daughter (yeah, could've/should've read it first!) to see whether they went heavy with penal substitution and a YOU MUST CHOOSE CHRIST OR BE DAMNED message (which, as a believer in universal reconciliation, I would object to). Thankfully, they focus on what Christ has won in His death and resurrection - the tearing of the curtain, the fact that we are now free to be with God - without making it scary or forcing "the right answer", leaving parents to discuss with their children the finer points of life after death as they see fit.

Just stunning
So beautiful. So thoughtful and biblical. An excellent way to present the gospel. My four year old loves it and it has really helped her understanding. The illustrations are so beautiful and captivating for children. The refrain โit is wonderful to live with him butโฆโ is a clever way to drive the point home and my daughter quickly memorised and joins in with that bit each time we read it. We have a few books from the range and so far we love them all. A real gift to Christian parents and their children.

Jesus died - but it was 'in the plan'!
This was an incredible read. The Bible condensed into a children's book. I read this with my children and it had me in tears. The story is so well told about the significance of the garden, the curtain and the cross that I felt overwhelmingly loved by our Father and the sacrifice made by Jesus. I felt it helped me and my children understand that the Father is always and only ever a loving Father to us. My wonderful daughter (age 3) has for a long time struggled with what Jesus was put through - spat upon, tortured and ridiculed. When she read this again with her God Mother I heard her say 'it's okay - it was always in the plan'. The way the story is relayed offered a wonderful assurance for her and I do believe that she now understands that this sacrifice made by God of His son was ok - in the plan - and allowed life and life in abundance. Please do share this with your children. There is an anointing in this book. To the author and illustrator - THANK YOU. I believe you are also 'In The Plan'.

Poetic prose and pictures
This book is astounding! It presents the truth of Scripture as a poetic narrative. The pictures are stunning, and while the language is kid-friendly, it is powerfully written and impactful for me to read as an adult. I bought it for my kids, ages 3 and 5, for Easter. They LOVED it and requested to read it every night for a couple weeks, and it is still a favorite.
