Update 22/08/26 Either Rainwater is the magic ingredient or someone at the grass factory saw my previous review, realised there had been a technical error and switch on my grass seed! I posted my original response 2 or 3 days ago, since then we have had the first significant drop of rain since Christmas and my grass is busting out all over. So I thought, "Do the right thing" and would be buyers that this wonderful grass seed DOES grow! Just make sure that you also order some local rain when you buy yours and hope that the manufacturers have set every see to the on position! Slightly Older review This is the best bird seed I ever bought. The local pigeons were all looking a little under nourished before I decided to do some long overdue repairs to my lawn. Bought a bag of this stuff, sewed it, lightly covered it with top soil, watered it, Temperature has been just right for growing grass these past 3 weeks, lord knows I seem to be out with the lawn mower cutting the existing grass every few days. And the final result is, 3 or 4 very fat wood pigeons and some random spots of freshly laid top soil. So if your looking for Birdseed that will not go to waste, this is the stuff to buy. If however you are looking for something to repair your patchy lawn, Your local garden centre will, i'm sure have just the thing. Does this company sell fish, I only ask because we have a very hungry heron living local and it seems unfair to feed the pigeons without giving the old heron the odd meal.

Absolutely 5* seed! I had fairly large bald spot on my lawn where I filled a sink hole with some soil from elsewhere. It would have been impossible for the existing lawn underneath to grow through, so I needed to remedy the bald spot (approx 3ft) I sowed about a week before I went on holiday for 10 days. I really didn't hold much hope as my neighbour was only going to water a couple of times during the time I was away. In the week since I sowed it (I sowed and a layer of compost and covered with a thin layer of all purpose compost) I saw no growth at all despite watering. All I saw was the birds dancing around in the fresh earth !! So I really held zero hope that anything would come of it. Much was my surprise, when on my return I saw an even covering of 3 inch growth! In the 3 weeks since that, it's now so lush & thick and grows infinitely faster & greener than the rest of my lawn. The photo shows clearly how different the new grass looks compared to my terrible looking remaining lawn. Superb !

The grass that sprouts from this seed is really good quality once it gets going and I have not experienced issues with weeds like some of the other reviews suggest. However, I have found in both of the 2 years I have been using this particular seed that it takes 3 weeks+ to start germinating - covered with a layer of top dressing and regular watering. I have also noticed that the success rate is quite low. For that reason I give it 3 stars as it’s a good quality finish but too much faff to get what you want from it.

It took a while but with one week of rain it turned into such lush, thick, healthy green grass. So happy with it.

I used seed from this same company in 2018 and it was brilliant. I’ve since moved and completely reset the lawn last month, as you can see. Seeded with topsoil around a month ago, regular watering and this is the result. Patches and mainly weeds just everywhere! I’d understand a small amount here and there but it’s literally everywhere. I just don’t even know what to do to fix this without spending more time and money.

A few years ago post house rebuild I had to regrass my back garden. When I did so I chose a Kentucky Blue Grass mix so as to create a lawn that would survive drought. I'm not an eco-warrior but it seemed to me to be sensible to not have to waste thousands of litres of water keeping a bit of green stuff alive if there were alternatives. Kentucky Blue Grass is deep rooted so which means that when a drought occurs the grass will brown off and die back, but the root system stays sound and as soon as a whiff of rain comes, suddenly it bursts back into life. I've found that to be the case myself. Now, fast forward a few years and a couple of years of devastation from moles and I needed to patch things up again so arrived at this grass seed. Which, is a KBG mix. Having become a bit of an expert in patching mole wrecked lawns my method is to sieve a barrow load of soil and mix in the grass seed. Then I sprinkle a bit of seed over the bald bit followed by a layer of the soil mix then a thin layer of soil. This does two things. It helps the seed germinate but, more importantly it hides the seed from pigeons. When I first did my lawn I essentially created the worlds biggest pigeon breakfast bar and that really got my blood pressure up. Since then I find that hiding the seed mostly avoids the problems. So having done the usual with this seed I allowed nature to do it's thing. I never watered it but simply allowed the rain to work and, sure enough after a few irregular falls the seeds turned into grass. Happy days. Price is reasonable and the supplier was quick and followed up with emails and help. Pretty good service all round I'd say.

Già dopo 1 settimana i primi fili sono spuntati. Peccato perchè le formiche hanno fatto strage di semi...per quest'inverno sono a posto! Invece io ho dovuto ripiantare nelle zone in cui avevano fatto man bassa.

Excellent . J’ai humidifié la terre et juste jeté des poignés d’herbe sur le terrain je précise qu’il yavait que de la terre même pas d’herbe Je suis ravie du résultat au bout de deux semaines darraosage le résultat est top. J’ai arrosé tout les soirs !!!!!

Hatte mir teure Grassamen "nach dem Vertikutieren" gekauft von einem der großen Marken. Trotz regelmäßigem Gießen ist dieser nicht aufgegangen (nicht einmal ein einzelner Grashalm). Dieser Rasen hier hat direkt nach etwa 2 Wochen die ersten Resultate gezeigt und wächst super an. Ganz klare Empfehlung, werde diesen wieder kaufen!
