The Panasonic GH5 Menu System Simplified

Must have book for GH5 owners. Goes over the menu and what it means far more clearly than the instruction manual did. It also has more detail than the manual provides. It's easy to like Thorpe's writing style that explains thing in a clear manner and what his preferences are for each setting. Along with what the settings actually do.

Ok...but this is one boring book. I have the one for the GH4 so I knew what I was getting into. This is a simple paperback that is expensive. I am a big fan of this author including his videos.Boring book...but informative.

Badly written and hardly edited. Many sentences are difficult to understand. Some words are out of place and at least one function is mislabeled. I have no confidence in this author because of this badly edited book

This is a well researched and well explained guide through every GH5 mode, button, function, and operation. It's told to you in English, NOT manual. The manual is great, but it’s not personal and it lacks a sense of humanity. This guide is friendly but not simplistic by any means. It's written by an actual GH5 owner who obviously loves the camera. Yes, there are a few typos but the information is solid and credible.

The GH5 is the best but most complex camera I've ever owned. While the user manual is okay and can be downloaded for free - this book has opened up the camera to me for both video and stills. It took me a while to work through the book but it was well worth it because I learnt plenty about photography and the capabilities of the GH5 as I went along. It does a great job of explaining everything in simple terms and if you keep the camera with you as you work through the book, you'll start to become familiar with how it works and more confident in using it. Highly recommended - and thanks to the author for writing it!

Great guide and saved me a lot of time trying to work things out for myself. Also highlighted a few things that I wasn't aware of and that I can now do: back button focusing, putting the 6K burst on to a computer to select shots and how to customise the My Menu function. Also a few hidden tips in there along the way on general photography. Excellent value given the knowledge that has been shared.

Just runs through what each button and setting does, same as the manual, though manual does give more explanation than the book, the manual come free with the camera - don’t waste your money

Just started to read but so far a few things I had missed, looking forward to reading right through,( trouble with the GH5 is there are just so many settings to choose from or we wouldn`t need this book)

When used with the manuals, this book gives settings that can be used with confidence on the camera. Well worth buying but not a comprehensive, stand alone, substitute manual.
