When I first moved to Colorado 10 years ago, I brought a collector vehicle with me. While its rubber seals had held up for years on the Gulf coast, as soon as I brought it to our low humidity normal, the rubber and plastics both started to deteriorate, quickly. On my 2021 Ford Bronco, I had started to notice some new squeaks this spring that seemed to be coming from the windows and rear, and the passenger window had started sounding a little differently sealing up after closing the door. Time to clean and condition the seals. (Assuming your seals are already “clean” looking, as in not caked in mud) Take a decent microfiber cloth and some waterless wash (I like Adams Polishes waterless wash) and clean your seals. You’ll be surprised at how grimy that clean looking seal actually is. Wipe it down until clean and dried. Also clean the interior of your windows with a good glass cleaner (again I love Adam’s) and waterless wash the top edge of the swing gate too. Mine had some dirt clinging there as well. Next take a seal reviver product like DuPont seal saver and thoroughly apply to condition the seals following manufacturer instructions. Even though my Bronco is garaged etc, the seals really absorbed the seal saver nicely. Hit the rubber door seals, the seal around the swing gate, and for you hard top folks pay special attention to the rubber seal on and around the back glass. Also clean and apply to your hard top seals the next time you have your panels off. This absolutely cured the new squeaks I was hearing. Even though the 6th gen’s are still new, there are a lot of seals with failure potential - easier to apply some prevention once every 6 months or so than to chase leaks due to tired rubber. 🙂 A lot of squeaks you might be thinking are coming from the swing gate hinges may well be coming from the seal.

This stuff really works great. Our winters often get in the -40°c and my back door used to freeze shut. I used this on the rubber seals around the door and it prevented it from sticking.
