How long does it keep your food hot for ?

I have only used it for carrying cold soft drinks never needed to carry hot items but stays cold for as long as I need it to. Around 2-3 hours until I get to the office

Can this cooler be washed in the washing machine?

Yes, this cooler can be put in the washing machine. However, I wouldn't recommend putting it in the dryer, it could mess up the lining. I hope you have as much good luck with this bag as my husband and I have.
