Not on the road map. It needs a good third party hearsink. Plenty on amazon. Look for aluminum heatsink with heat pipe.

Would this work on an older x99 asus strix? I just bought a wd sn870x but it didnt work.

Yes it should work but make sure your motherboard is updated to the most recent firmware update. It will be backward compatible. You will also need to go to Disk Manager in Windows and create a partition and then format it.
