Not quiet -- it's silent!
Pre-washed all the pieces before assembling -- unit is easy to put together. Comes with a tiny brush to help with routine maintenance cleaning that is recommended bi-weekly. Filters are easy to install but should be pre-soaked to reduce tainting the water. Our cat was initially put off. (I would recommend cycling water for 2-4 hours, then rinsing the filters and fountain again to clear any lingering "flavor".) The 2-piece configuration with power and inductive pump motor is a great configuration. You can remove and refill or service the upper water container and not worry about having the electrical portion exposed to water: i.e. the water basin sits on the power/electromagnet base and can be removed separately. The inductive pump motor sits in the water basin and pushes water up the outflow spout above to serve your cat. The sub-pieces of the water basin and pump can be removed and separated for cleaning then reassembled. The unit is silent -- not just quiet as compared to our previous cat fountain. Even the outflow from the spigot falls so quietly that it seemed to unnerve our cat. It took several days for him to get used to using it (which included the use of treats to get him close to the unit). Because the proximity switch makes him jumpy as it starts when he gets close, we've opted for continuous running -- continuous flow only occurs if the unit stays plugged in. The unit is smaller than expected for 2.5L but works well for our single cat household. The base will alert you with lights when it needs to be recharged (if running on battery) or if water level is low. Very nice unit and highly recommended

Perfect water fountain
Cats love it. We’ve had it for some months now and it still works perfectly. Easy to clean and replacement cartridges are not expensive. And it’s quiet.

Easy to clean, easy to use, long lasting charge. Great purchase.
The last fountain I had was corded and kind of a pain to take apart and clean. As a result, it did not get cleaned as often as it should. This fountain is sooo much better in that department. No wires means no crawling under furniture to unplug it. And it is super simple to take apart and clean. Because the pump is also cordless there is no need to run a cable through any awkward holes. The tray on top is stainless steel, so also very easy to clean. There aren't any awkward nooks and crannies to have to get into for the most part. Filter is also very simple to replace. Just pop open the case and drop a new one in. Battery lasts a long time and the tank holds more than enough water for a couple of weeks for one cat so I just refill it when I clean and do the filter. The lights that indicate low battery and low water level are in not the best spot. If the fountain is on the floor, as I am assuming most pet fountains are going to be, the angle from which you are viewing from above means the tank kind of hangs over the base and blocks your view from the indicator lights. The couple of times I have had a low battery or low water situation, I was able to hear it before I noticed the lights. Which brings me to my next point This fountain is all but silent. Sometimes you hear the water dripping from the tray on top back into the tank but you don't hear the pump and, unless you have the spout attached, you don't hear the water running. Unless the water or battery is low. Then it makes a tiny bit of noise when running, which is fine by me, because it alerts me to the fact that I need to take action.

NEEDS A BIGGER BATTERY BUT OTHERWISE GREAT!
After years of owning cats, I swear they have a sixth sense about anything that is marketed specifically "for cats" and will promptly reject it! So I wasn't sure if I'd be shipping this "cat fountain" promptly back to Amazon, but.... success! Our Napoleon happily drinks from it! I found the fountain to mostly live up to its description: incredibly quiet, reliable, super easy to clean and refill and, dare I say, sleek and stylish-at least for a cat fountain. Where it falters is in the battery life--I'm getting less than two weeks instead of the estimated month. Here's the issue: to conserve battery life, the fountain starts flowing for 45 seconds whenever it senses something near it AND once per hour, regardless, so the water never stagnates. However, if your cat's water is in an area that you walk by frequently, then the fountain will flow EVERY time you pass by it, using up battery life much more quickly. Apartment dwellers often don't have much choice in where they position things, so keep that in mind. A light on the front of the fountain will glow red when the battery needs to be recharged soon, so you don't have to guess or wait til the fountain stops working. However, even with much less battery life than I expected, this fountain is a keeper... but they should consider doubling the battery size for future models. Suggested tip: when you first get the fountain, you have to plug it in to charge it, and the fountain runs continuously while it's charging. I waited a week before I unplugged, even though it had fully charged in less than a day, so that my cat would see this as his new water source. Now he has learned that the fountain will start flowing when he gets close to it. (And if you have an outlet near the fountain, you can also leave it plugged in and flowing full time if you wish. I don't have that option.) A couple of final notes: keeping the water clean requires the changing of two custom filters every two weeks. This is a snap to do, but the cost for 4 months worth of filters is currently about $30 on Amazon. So consummables for this fountain will run you about $90 per year. Third party filter brands are cheaper, but hard to know if they will provide the same level of filtration as OEM, and I'm not going to take a chance with my cat's water supply to save a few bucks. Also: I've read some reviews that complain about leaking and I don't see how that's possible. The tank is a solid piece of plastic and unless it has been cracked, there's no way it can leak. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision.

Perfect pet fountain
I love this pet fountain. They offer clear easy instructions on how to take apart the pump for easy cleaning on a regular basis. Also my curious cats can't flip the cover off & spill water thanks to the clips holding it in place. No cords inside it as well. It's made with a lot of thought.

Super Easy to Clean!
This is, by far, the best cat water fountain I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned at least 6 different fountains over the past 10 years. It is extremely easy to set up, easy to fill, and easy to add water. It’s also very quiet and was the first water fountain that did not scare my black scaredy cat who’s afraid of her own shadow. It’s also ridiculously easy to clean! It took me less than 5 minutes to disassemble and clean the well, pump, and stainless steel water tray. I was done before the new water filter was done soaking in water (the manufacturer recommends soaking the filter in water for 5 minutes, followed by rinsing for 30 seconds). The manufacturer recommends completely cleaning the entire fountain and pump every two weeks. This will be an easy schedule to stick to because of the ease of cleaning the entire unit. In the past, I dreaded cleaning our water fountains because they weren’t easy to clean. This fountain was designed to have no 90° walls or corners that are hard to clean and get any and all gunk out of. The pump comes apart completely and easily for easy and convenient cleaning. Everything goes back together quickly and is ready for the new filter in a snap. The manufacturer claims that you should only have to fill the fountain once every two weeks, but we have three very thirsty cats, so I refill it every couple of days. It would probably last the two weeks if it was used by only one cat. The base has a battery strength indicator, which is helpful if you keep the fountain in a spot that doesn’t have access to an electrical outlet. Otherwise, it simply indicates that the power is on and the battery is fully charged. There is also an indicator that lights up if the fountain needs more water added. If you’re on the fence on whether or not to buy this pump, know that it’s truly worth every penny. The ease of cleaning the entire fountain is enough for me to buy this one again and again (we all know that fountains don’t last forever)… but this one may just be the one that does last forever.

Five Stars for the 5-Minute Cleaning Process & Silent Operation
EASE OF CLEANING: A Game Changer This is by far the easiest pet fountain I’ve ever used. The difference-maker is the cordless pump. I no longer have to lie on the kitchen floor or contort myself to reach an awkward wall outlet behind shelves. I simply lift the bowl, carry it to the sink, and start cleaning. The entire process—from picking it up to scrubbing, rinsing all the pieces (including the pump), and reassembly—takes less than five minutes (I'm know this because you are supposed to soak the new filter for five minutes, and I’m always done before the timer on the soaking goes off.) With two cats, I used to clean it every two weeks; now, with two cats and two smallish dogs, I clean it weekly. SUPER QUIET: Nearly Silent I would actually call it silent. I never hear it running unless the water level is getting low, at which point a gentle motor sound reminds me to refill it. VERSATILE POWER OPTIONS: Battery or Wall Plug I personally plug this unit in to keep the water running full time. The great part is that if I wanted to place it somewhere away from an outlet, I have the option to run it on a rechargeable battery. INCREASED WATER INTAKE: A Hit with My Pets My elderly cat is fascinated with the flowing water, which has noticeably increased her water intake. She especially loves it if I pop an ice cube or two into the tray! AESTHETIC APPEAL: Not "Butt-Ugly" The design is clean, modern, and fits well in my kitchen decor. ________________________________________ Suggestion for the Manufacturer A Minor Improvement for the Next Version: My one suggestion for PETLIBRO is to add a clear viewing window or level indicator bar to the front of the unit to make it easier to see the water level at a glance. As mentioned, the unit makes a slight motor hum when the water is getting low, but I'd prefer to refill it before it reaches that point.

Great when it works, but very unreliable after filter changes
When it works, it's great. But every time I change the filter (every 2 weeks, as recommended), the fountain stops working for several days, until I take it apart and reassemble it multiple times. Several others have mentioned this problem, and I know what's causing it, but I've just reached the end of my patience fixing it Every Single Time I change the filter now. The ring around the plastic piece underneath the water tray (the one that holds the filter tray on the top in place) can come loose, which seems to cause the fountain to stop working. I snap it back into place every time I disassemble/reassemble for filter changes, but it still doesn't always work (so maybe that's not what's actually wrong?). I love this thing and I need it to be cordless, but what is the point when it doesn't work reliably? It only comes on and fills the tray when one of the cats walks in front of it, but not on the hour like it's supposed to, and it doesn't stay full in between. The cats love it when it works and have actually increased their water intake with it, but the unreliability is a nuisance. UPDATE: I'm amending this to 3 stars (from 2) because the fountain really is terrific when it works and the customer service from PetLibro was phenomenal: fast, responsive, friendly. BUT I still believe there is a design flaw in the piece of the filter tray that sits under the water tray. It isn't fastened securely enough and--especially when the fountain is new and the plastic is more stiff--it's virtually impossible to remove the top of the filter tray without jostling the bottom enough to potentially dislodge/unsnap it, particularly for the uninitiated new user. That problem just gets worse over time as the unit is disassembled and reassembled for each filter change every 2 weeks. So do buy this fountain, but be VERY, VERY, VERY CAREFUL when you first detach the top of the filter tray and when you snap it back on after changing the filter.

Good filters
Got these on an offer and the perlibro is defo the better fountain where mold and gunk build up is concerned, as you dont really get it. Occasionally a bit of pink mold very minute and easy to clean. Unlike the cheaper fountains

Buen producto
Funciona muy bien para nuestras 3 gatas, se limpia fácilmente y aunque los filtros son caros, uno aguanta muy bien unas dos semanas de uso continuo siempre que no le caiga algún contaminante al agua.

Great cordless water fountain with one flaw
Love that the pump is cordless as cords in water fountains tend to get slimy easily. Very quiet especially when it's on the bubbling mode. One minus point is the filter cover is very hard to remove. Had to pull it open with quite a bit of force and I was afraid of breaking it! Petlibto should look into improving the design of the filter cover
