Excellent taste and the thickness is good. This is a big bottle and well worth the price. Why cheaper than the grocery store. We have purchased this many times. This time we bought the 2 pack. Hoisin sauce is delicious. It's used in most of the dishes.

I use this a lot for dipping sauce. Mix with a little soy sauce, sesame oil and water to make a great dumpling dip.

This Hoisin sauce is exactly the one needed to marinate pork ribs for oven roasting per the recipe in the Jim Lee's Chinese Cookbook, that I bought in the 1980's (and long out of print). 1/2 C. Hoisin sauce, 1/2 C. soy sauce, 1/2 C. cooking sherry, 3 minced garlic cloves & 3 tbs sugar. Cover ribs in sauce and marinate for 3 to 4 hrs. I'm gonna hang the riblets on butcher's hooks from the highest oven rack location, over a tray of 1/2" deep water sitting on the lowest rack and roast them at 375 degrees until the internal temp reaches 145 degrees. These ribs are larger than what I have used before, so a meat thermometer is necessary to make sure they are cooked thru. The pan of water keeps the drips from the oven floor and keeps the ribs from drying out. They are YUMMY!

I am on the wrong side of 70! I just recently ate a an Asian restaurant the had bottles of this stuff on the tables. I tried it for the first time and was blown away how much it intensified the flavours. I will buy this again!
