It's exactly what I wanted in exactly the size specified. I did, however, not notice that it has no lid. I ordered the lid that goes with it and the lid has quite a rise to it, but it does snap on very securely and is high quality glossy plastic something, just like the container. It barely fit where I had measured the opening assuming the lid was included. So, just so you know, order a lid and pay attn to the height if you have a finite amount of head room for it. I figured out to use the lid flipped the other way, it doesn't snap on that way, but it fits tight enough for the product I'm storing.

These containers are great! Sturdy and durable! The packaging was a serious issue, however. We ordered six and they arrived stuck together, crushed together past the stops on the corners. We attempted several maneuvers to separate them, not wanting to break any, and hoping to not need to return them. We eventually succeeded, carefully using a hard plastic wedge and a rubber mallet, to forcibly separate them! It was not easy! I hope that the shipper will package these containers better, perhaps with cardboard blocks in the corners to prevent them from getting crushed together in shipping, or using a sturdier box for shipping. I think part of our problem was that we ordered 6 containers and the box they shipped in was not very sturdy.

I needed a roomy food-grade container to hold dog food. And I wanted it clear with a good top (bought separately) so that it's easy to open, stays tightly closed, and lets me easily see when I'm getting low on food. Just perfect! Yes, it's expensive and probably too large for most home use, but I live in an old farmhouse long on charm...and mice. This is the only container that foils them. That's worth the price alone!

You need to read description carefully. This item has a lid, but the lid is sold separately. Another $20.

The buyer needs to be aware that this is only the food box bottom. It does not come with a proper top. Add the top to the total cost of this item, and I couldn't justify the total for a residential bread baking proofing box. Returned it.
