Kensington N17 Dell Cable Lock for Laptops with Wedge Lock Slot (K64442WW)

I purchased 6 of these for my work on many of the business dell latitude and precision laptops with excellent reliability to them. It is a good idea to make sure to use non movable anchor to wrap around so it is not easily removed, this will ensure your devices stay protected

Very happy with this lock so far. The cable has a dual-swivel attachment to the laptop so it's easy to orient it at any angle. And the combination wheels move nice and easily, but naturally stop on the discrete numbers, making it easy to enter the combination (with a good feel).

This is a review of the Kensington N17 Dell Cable Lock for Laptops with Wedge Lock Slot (K64442WW) If you've owned other Kensington locks, this is the same good quality and it should last a while. As with other Kensington locks, the rubber gasket that protects the computer's finish isn't secured and eventually falls of and gets lost if you're on the road often. Not critical, just annoying. Would buy again

Why did Dell change the standard cable lock? OK that is a question for Dell. This is about the only one I found that was for the new Dell small cable lock spot on my Dell computer. And that is combination. I wanted only combination 'cause who wants to have a set of keys for the computer lock. And it fits and works. Easy to program my own combination.

This lock works with the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Model 7573. Took me a couple of tries to reset the combo, but not a big deal as I don't expect to need to reset it again. I saw some reviews that said the lock does not fit tight against the laptop and wiggles a bit. I found that to be true, although no more so than my previous laptop lock. Initially the locking cylinder looked too big for my laptop as it extended past the bottom of the laptop and did not allow the computer to lay flat on the desk. Turns out the locking mechanism is not centered in cylinder and when I turned it over it fits fine. Cable thickness is on par with my previous lock. This product will do what I need it to do.

needed it for work. it is easy to program and works fine so far. PS: why did DEll decide to do the laptop lock holes smaller for their new models? so we can all by new locks? my old ones work fine but now useless!

As instructed, I set my code turning the "set" tumbler, entering number, and then turning "set" tumbler back. Tested new code, spin code, tested button lock and then set to my new code, button ok. Tested on laptop, spin code after insert, and was tugging on it to make sure it held. All of the sudden the button depressed and the lock came out (Thank God). At first I thought I did not get it in all the way but as I was looking at it I NOTICED THE SET TUMBLER HAD DEPRESSED AGAIN PARTIALLY. About the same time I noticed this, while setting it back to my original code, THE SET TUMBLER POPPED UP. Now I have a lock with some random code that I do not know. @ Dell - This new lock will be a decision point in any future purchase. It is ridiculous to abandon a proven, trusted lock mechanism for this silly implementation.

I couldn't find any info on Dell's website, Kensington's website, or Noble's website about which type of lock fits the new Precision 7720. I bought this lock (wedge type) and the traditional "T" type lock. This one does not work for my laptop. I can slide the wedge in and out of the slot without engaging the button. If you have the Precision 7720 from 2017, then you need the traditional "T" type lock. The quality of the product seems great, but I'm disappointed in the advertising.

Very poor service. Product doesn’t work. Then they say they will replace it but they haven’t replaced the product. On top of that calling me again and again to make me purchase more products from them.

This is a good lock to secure my laptop with the wedge lock slot. Reliable brand!

Bought for Alienware 15r2, works as expected. Good feature to be able to reset the code. Just a bit expensive.
