Fun project! Worth the work!
This was my first miniature build and it was fun! It was very overwhelming at first and took a while to get the hang of it, but don’t let it scare you away! I even attempted the lighting and unfortunately missed a step so I couldn’t get it to work, but I was proud of myself for actually getting the wires attached and working in the first step! Looking forward to building another just to get it lit.I think the directions were pretty well done, but could have been even better- more explanation or pictures- but they are pretty good for all of the fine detail. Looking at the assembly progression photos really helped me put it all together. I needed to use my fine point craft scissors for this one, and my needle nose pliers and definitely my hot glue gun for some of the parts, so be prepared for that. This thing is so cute and fits perfectly on any shelf or mantel! I’m excited to display mine and show everyone all the tiny little things I built!I’d say the hardest part was getting the wires to bend in the correct ways- my table, chairs, and barstools all came out super wonky because of the wire not bending just right. I guess that’s the difference between a beginner and a professional! But I’m definitely a beginner and thought this whole thing was very doable. Just takes a lot of time and patience. It probably took my 15 ish hours maybe?? That’s a total guess. Anyway, such a fun project!! Worth the work!

A must-buy for any model-building detective-lovers out there!
I bought this kit as soon as I saw it on Amazon. It was incredibly fun to create and I absolutely love the theme. There are several items within the kit that are a bit time-intensive and require steady hands so I don't recommend for any children younger than 16 but it was such a fun build and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who loves building models and loves detectives (especially 1940s detectives) as much as I do!

Adorable but missing pieces
Update: It took a little time but the seller sent the floor piece, though they said they could not send the batteries overseas so I had to purchase those. This kit is adorable and has been fun to work on so far, it's my first one. I have been steadily working through the assembly of all of the furniture pieces and it's coming together. The quality is great, everything has matched up well so far. The hardest part has been the furniture handles. You get pieces of wire and you have to measure, cut, and shape them to fit. I'm getting better at them. The glue is great as far as how well it sticks. I thought it was some kind of clear super glue, but it's not. It sets quickly but peels/washes off your hands easily. It makes a mess on the pieces if you're not careful. When I got to the fabric chair, there was a paper pattern piece that wasn't there, I looked through everything. I ended up just drawing my own and it worked out. Then reading through steps to start assembling the room frame, I realized that a large wooden piece (the top of the floor) is missing from the kit. As I went through the rest of the parts (there is no parts list, just step by step instructions where you find the pieces needed at each step), I found that I was also missing the batteries that are supposed to be included with the electrical parts for the LED lights. I have emailed the company to try to get the missing parts and will update if I am able to get them. It's just a frustrating set back to have parts missing from a kit that is supposed to have everything you need to build it.

The most fun
Oh my gosh! I loved doing this project!!! It was the first time I've done a miniature kit and I had a great time! You do EVERYTHING except for painting. It is overwhelming at first but once you lay everything out and take a look at what you have it makes so much more sense.I couldn't get the light to work so I didn't bother with that. The kit still looks cute without it.Measuring is a must on a few things so best to have a ruler available. They did provide the glue and the tweezers (which you absolutely need) however I grabbed my cricut tweezers and was more successful with those because they are super pointed and metal. The glue kept sticking to my plastic ones. For the glue, it works great however try to cut the hole small enough so that you don't get a ton of glue coming out at once. I got a little carried away and there are glue strands everywhere. And I had yo wash my hands really well because it was all over them. BUT I really did have the most fun. I spent about 12 to 14 hours on the project from start to finish and finished it in one day because I had to; couldn't put it down. Highly recommend putting this piece together!

I still love them!
I am a huge fan of these guys and I'm noticing that every set will have it's pros and cons.Though this set is worth the purchase, some obstacles I came across with this set were: the glue, instructions and some of the structure. The instructions were a bit confusing for me as some of the visuals would show different products or show products that look the same. I notice that when you put A and B together, the instructions showing how to put C and D together to connect to A & B, the picture of A and B is gone. Hope that makes sense!I advise to use a hot glue gun or your own glue as the glue included in the set made me feel sick once some fell on my skin. (They do have a warning about it being on the skin but how can you really avoid that? :) )The structure was another problem. You REALLY need a cutter or something sharp to remove the wooden pieces or else it can crack and/or break in half. Even chip! Don't push too hard, these pieces are somewhat fragile.Aside from all of this, it was a successful build and I will keep buying from them because I love them and there sets are awesome sauce!
