Vertex Standard Alkaline Battery Case (FBA-25)

This original Yaesu battery pack works perfectly for my Yaesu ft-60 HT with alkaline batteries. This is an original Yaesu product as the paperwork was included. Fresh alkaline batteries x 6 in the battery pack put out 9 volts. The voltage rating for this radio is 7 to 16 volts, so this is in the right range. The nominal voltage for the radio is 7.5 volts. this battery pack fits perfectly with alkaline batteries however I had some in mfj rechargeable double A batteries and they were too big for the compartment. So rechargeable batteries are too big possibly need to remove out the center plastic piece...I'm just going to use mine for alkaline batteries in an emergency, so this should be just fine...I am very happy with this purchase.

I purchased my Vertex VXA210 from KingSchools back in the day when the also sold accessories. This handheld has served me well over the years, but I’ve been on borrowed time relying on just one rechargeable pack. Now, I can switch in 6x AA batteries and keep on going. Recommend use of a one USA cent coin or something similar to undo the retainer clip...unless you’ve got strong nails! Other than that, excellent battery pack, fits well, no issues closing the cover. I’m looking forward to taking this along on my next trip.

Kinda necessary for Yaesu ft-60 ht. The spare nicad batteries are hard to find. This allows you to use your basic alkaline batteries.

I purchased this FBA-25 battery case to replace a cheap knock-off I had purchased from Ebay to fit my Yaesu FT-60r. I had paid only $8.99+$2.00 s/h for the part from China on Ebay, but I thought I could save some $$. But when I received that part, I found that some of the AA batteries were difficult to get into the holder, and when assembled, it would fit my Yaesu/Vertex VX-150, but not my FT-60r. I tried everything including shaving the surfaces, but I could not make it fit the FT-60r. I lived with that for almost a year, because I already had a genuine Yaesu FBA-25 that would fit both radios. Finally, last week I decided to order this one from Hamcity.com on Amazon Marketplace. I received the item only a few days later. When I saw the Yaesu certificate of conformance in the package - which was not in the Chinese knock-off, I knew I had made the right choice. This case fits both of my radios perfectly, and installing or removing the AA cells is not the pain it is with the knock-off. Yes, I did pay about 3x what the knock-off cost me for this authentic part, but I have learned that it is not worth trying to save a little $$ buying a cheap knock-off for a Yaesu radio - or anything that requires parts made with precision.

I first ordered a generic product and the batteries did not fit. I returned it and bought the genuine product which works great.

Over reliance on rechargeable batteries is not good. This accessory is essential in a ham go-bag. AA batteries are more universally available and more likely to be found even in an emergency. Cannot say the same for AC power to re-charge battery packs. Wish all H/T's had this as an accessory.

This is junk. The one I received long springs or short spring contacts on both ends as seen in the photo. I cant get batteries in the compartments with long springs on both ends, and I dont know if I get good contact on the compartments with short springs. I'm disappointed that this battery holder won't work. Must of been assembles by someone that didn't know what they were doing. For the money I needs to be right. I tried to turn jumper spring strips around but it needs lefts and rights, and the are all lefts or all rights. Bottom Line is I will now need to return it for a refund.

Can't beat this price for an oem yaesu piece. Love having the ability to use regular batteries while camping or hiking etc

This product works just great! I was most impressed with delivery, order placed on a Friday and was at my door in rural BC the next Monday!
