Pairs via Bluetooth. The magnet is just the magnet, no power or charging function.

Does the company offer an App?

No app that I know of. Once initially paired, they just connect via Bluetooth to your phone (and to each other if you have 2) when you powers them on. Not more more to it than that. Control songs and volume from the phone.
