Excellent Training device for super focused dogs
I bought this after all my other methods of training & correcting my GSD weren’t able to snap him out his hyper focused state to redirect him. He’s a good dog, one of the best I’ve had but refining his behavior / obedience skills was mediocre at best. After some weighing of different methods I got this. It is a game changer! Just a very quick snap (not too much force is needed - the collar does all the work) and my 2 year old GSD snaps out of his hyper focused or distracted attention and looks to me for what’s next. No more wandering off into the bushes to chase the ducks that drive him nuts, ignoring my whistle or tug on his martingale collar. He needed a more “bite like” sensation like a leader dog would do when ignored and this does it! Make sure you fit it properly, and only use it when on walks, actively under supervision during training sessions, and don’t leave it on them all the time as a regular collar. It’s just to help give a more clear correction versus constant nagging. The quick release buckle is secure, and great for those who have hand dexterity issues like arthritis. Links are able to be added or removed or added as needed for proper fit. If you do have hand dexterity concerns, you might need someone to help you with removing the links. I didn’t find it difficult, but my hands were swollen and tired from working with dogs all day and my arthritis was acting up - so trying to remove the last link took a couple of minutes, so be aware if you struggle. Once the fit is right and you no longer need to mess with the links and the quick release buckle makes taking it on and off between sessions or walks as easy as taking off a collar. The little guard that slides over the button prevents it from accidentally unlatching. As you should use this alone without another collar you definitely want it to stay on securely if you’re not indoors - and this helps to do that. This works great when used correctly. Already my GSD has a more consistent heel, better self-control when he sees other dogs (he wants to play and acts like a lunatic with his GSD barking which we hadn’t been able to get more improvement on until this). He responds positively to the corrections in conjunction with concurrent verbal corrections so now after just a week we rarely have to work the Herm Sprenger - he simply takes the verbal corrections/ cue. We bought the 20” neck size, as he is 18” neck, and ended up removing 3 links to make it a snug but not tight fit without the martingale part tight. So a very subtle flick of the finger or wrist on the least can create just enough pressure in the high part of the neck / head that he responds immediately. Great product and glad I bought it

Game Changer, Work Great!
Our 54lb 14 month old Goldendoodle was a strong puller, even for my husband. I tried many different collars and was hesitant to try a prong, mainly because I did not understand how to properly fit them and how they worked. Our trainer recommended the prong (after my many collar purchases to try & avoid a prong). In diligently doing my research I chose the Herm Sprenger. Be very selective on quality, don’t be cheap, learn how to properly fit & handle your dog with one. I was concerned about how they work and watched a lot of videos on proper fit & use along with our trainer. This was a game changer, she is doing great! This is a training tool and will not be a forever collar. This tool helps teach her to understand what the pressure means when she pulls on leash. She does great with it, it is comfortable for her and when properly fitted will not slide down, around or be near the dogs trachea area. Your dog will learn to walk loose leash and they will self correct with gentle pressure NOT choking. You DO NOT pull on your dog they will self correct. We got the quick release for easy on off, 2.25 cm prongs, stainless steel and size small worked wonderful on her. MUST be fitted behind ears & jawline not where normal collars ride. We also bought a back up attachment to attach to her regular collar or harness in case prong collar released so you do not loose your dog. Watch for the real Herm Sprenger made in Germany prongs are nicely rounded and smooth unlike sharp after market. The Herm Sprenger is more expensive but so worth it! Highly recommend, make sure & educate yourself how to fit & use. Lots of good dog trainers on YouTubeteaching on use & proper fit.

Good quality stainless steel prong collar as expected from Herm Sprenger
Works good and is quality. Herm Sprenger buckle has held well on my female Mallinois x. She was trained on this collar and still use for over 5 months. Adjustable length made it easy to size it down while she's was smaller and then resize as she grew. My biggest concern was the leash connection ring at the top on a swivel, it looked like a possible failure point but has held up well so far. Stainless steel though and so worth it over chrome for the dog. Always check the links to make sure they are not bent and double hook if you are worried about your dog's recall if it broke.

Quality over quantity
Herm sprenger is a well known and trusted brand among the working dog community. The quality, effectiveness and durability withstand. There are cheaper less efficient versions of this on the market but they do not get the same results and can even present as more dangerous due to poor quality and durability. The safety clip is great for an extra layer of safety preventing the prongs from popping off. It also makes it much easier to clip onto your dog instead of prying off a prong every time. This collar will last a lifetime compared to the cheaper ones that rust and fall apart. As with every training device, learn your tools and become familiar before using anything. Once you understand how to use this tool safely, the rest will come with ease.

Good quality.
Love this collar, due to my ignorance I got the 3.2 mm instead of the 2.25 mm with extra links so I had to remove all but 6 links to fit my doberman properly. Even with only 6 links it works perfectly and it's so heavy I feel safer about it not coming apart and risking losing my rescue while he learns where home is and to come when called. He has learned very quickly with some training not to pull on the collar when we go for walks with some training and the buckle is wonderful! I left the safety piece on after reading reviews and it's very easy to use, I was worried that I would struggle with taking the collar off or on since my fingers can be very sensitive due to a health problem, but I've never had an issue getting it on or off even while I'm being careful not to snag his hair in the process. I saw some other prong collars in the pet store and the quality difference was shocking, I'd never use one of those for fear they'd snap since they felt so flimsy and had no buckle.

Awesome quality. Great product.. But it was too big for my dog.. When I took out enough prongs to fit him.. there was only 4 left on the collar.. So I have returned it.. Ordered the same brand because according to trainers.. it's the only brand to buy. I am getting my replacement tomorrow.. so I will write on it.. Would buy this brand again, it is strong, well made and awesome..
