Small but mighty
Coffee machine is a good size and nice looking . Easy for me to pickup and put away in a cabinet. Heats the water up fairly quickly. And always tastes great. Had for over a year now and I am still very satisfied with it.

PERFECT SMALL COFFEEMAKER - IF ONLY IT WOULD LAST
1/15/2021 - Update. This is the perfect, small coffeemaker if only it would last. First purchased this little pot in Oct. 2019. By Dec. 2020 it had died. It would not hold water in the resevoir. Thinking that was some sort of fluke and because I really liked the simplicity and size I bought another in Dec. 2020 which just died in Jan. 2021. The on/off switch completely "froze" and could not be moved at all. I decided to contact Black and Decker directly and was forwarded to another arm of their business Spectrum Home Appliances. After 3 emails and several requests from SHA regarding proof of purchase they are mailing me a new pot. I originallyand will continue to give it a 5 star rating because I love this pot and SHA customer service came through for me. ORIGINAL REVIEW - FOLLOWS. If you're looking for a small, simple coffeemaker look no further. Drip free pouring and the "sneak a cup" feature add to the perfectionism of this little pot. Simple on/off switch. Fits nicely into any corner under a cabinet. I have only washed it and the various parts on the top rack of the dishwasher and without heat dry. I used to buy the coffee pots with all the bells and whistles. They had clocks, pre-set auto on features, cleaner indicators and so on. They always seemed a bit unwieldy to handle and each would die within a couple of years. So I decided to try this little $20 pot and it's perfect. If it only lasts a couple of years I will be happy that I only spent $20 and I'll hope that another will still be available by then for another purchase.

great size for 2, takes up less space
We bought this coffeemaker because we wanted something smaller but did not want it to look like a cheap hotel room coffeemaker. This one looks great in our kitchen. It makes 5 cups of coffee - some of the other small ones only make 4. You can remove the carafe and pour a cup while it is still brewing. This model also DOES have the warmer plate to keep the coffee warm. However the warmer plate will remain ON until you turn the coffeemaker off - it does not auto shutoff. The temperature of the coffee is just right, i can add refrigerator cold cream/milk and sweetener to my coffee and the coffee is still hot to drink which is great. The ONLY thing I did not like, was when we used the coffee maker it would have a really bad burning plasticky smell after brewing coffee. At first we thought that would wear off after the first 3 brews. But it did not. The bad plasticky smell was bad enough to smell up our whole kitchen. We ended up running 3 cycles of half vinegar and half water through it - like you would do when you descale it. Then another clean water only cycle. That seemed to do the trick and got rid of the bad plasticky smell. So now we are very happy with this little coffee maker. Pros: looks great - nicer than a lot of other small coffee makers brews coffee well and keeps it warm to a good temperature lid on carafe is easy to take off for cleaning!! cons: ours initially had a bad plastic smell when we used it - that took some cleaning cycles to get rid of - for this reason i am deducting one star.

Reliable and Easy - Good Value
This Black & Decker coffee maker is the model that I have been using for the last 10 years. It does the job well, and the filtering screen allows you to get to the coffee faster than a paper filter. Great design because it does not take a lot of space and I like hearing the "almost done" gurgling - the sound works well to get me to the coffee pot faster. Coffee tastes better when it's freshly brewed. Temperature: I turn the coffee maker off immediately after brewing so that I don't leave it on the heater because I would rather not burn it. I drink it all before it's too cool. Thanks for a very good product.

Does the job for cheap
Nothing to complain about this coffee maker. It's cheap, it works, it makes delicious coffee. A few notes from my first week: One or two reviews commented that the coffee wasn't hot enough. These people must have tongues of steel because I definitely need to let my drink cool down for about 5 minutes after pouring it or my mouth will get scorched. About the reusable basket. I agree that it should be cone shaped-style as opposed to the flat style, and it's strange to me that there's only mesh on the sides and not the bottom. It still gets the job done just fine though. And seriously people, it's too hard to clean? It takes approximately 30 seconds to clean out the mesh filter and pop in back into place. Save some paper! About the warped top. My parents have the old model of this coffee maker and that top definitely would warp when it was brewing. So far, I haven't noticed any warping on the lid of this model, and the plastic seems much heavier/stronger than the old model. I don't think it will warp, but will update if any issues arise. Finally, about the coffee strength. I do notice that this coffee seems a little weaker than my old coffee maker. I'm not sure if this is because a) the coffee grinds I'm using is different from my previous brand b) the mesh filter's flat style doesn't work as well as a conical style/paper filter or c) I just haven't found the sweet spot of grounds:water yet. Overall, if you read through all this, you're overthinking it! This is a solid $20 coffee maker and if you hate it get another one after a year or two. EDIT: Update, 11/26. As far as the coffee strength goes, the initial weak coffee taste I noticed was definitely from the grounds and not the maker. Since buying a better brand of grounds, my morning coffee comes out strong and hot!

The best little coffee maker
I needed a little coffee maker to replace my old one from years past - had a 4-cup Mr. Coffee maker. It is so hard to find a good quality 4-cuper, especially with the new fast one-cup Keurig coffee makers flooding the marketplace. I even tried a Keurig coffee maker for many months and even though the flavor is good, the cup of coffee does not stay hot at all. I like to start with a cup and slowly add to the same cup, which you cannot do with a single cup Keurig. I researched for a long time and read all the reviews - even the dependable Mr. Coffee was not generating favorable reviews. I did however, find this little 4-cup Black + Decker coffee maker and I am so happy with my decision to purchase it. I have had it for a couple of months now and every pot of coffee is fresh and hot. It is a simple, basic little coffee maker with only an on and off switch - that's all (no timer or auto shut off) and I love it!

Didn’t Last a Year — Fragile Glass
This coffeemaker brews a nice, hot cup of coffee. The temperature comes out just right, hot enough to enjoy immediately but not so hot that it burns your tongue. I also liked the sleek black color; it looks clean and modern sitting on the counter without taking up much space. It’s fairly portable, too. The size is compact enough that I could move it around the kitchen easily, or even bring it along when I needed a smaller machine outside the house. For everyday use, the 5-cup capacity worked perfectly for me. The only real downside is the durability of the glass carafe. It feels thin, and unfortunately, it broke much sooner than I expected, less than a year in. If the glass were sturdier, I’d be much happier with it overall.

Impressive!
Honestly for an inexpensive coffee maker I'm very impressed. In my area we have very hard water and I've replaced too many other coffee machines. I figured this one was inexpensive so I wouldn't feel bad if it went. However, all of my expectations were completely surpassed. This is the longest lastly coffee maker that I've owned (previously owned kcup style coffee makers) so granted I wouldn't be able to directly compare to other drip coffee makers. This unit is easy to use and my favorite part is how simple it is to clean without having to buy expensive solutions or go through a daylong process. I always buy freshly roasted beans and grind them right before brewing and the results have been excellent. My other method is making pour overs and this brewer doesn't quite get to that standard but it makes up for it in ease of use. One other thing to mention is that a lot of people that own coffee makers with a heating plate complain about is leaving the coffee on the plate for a bit will give it a burnt taste. This is something I haven't experienced with this coffee maker. There were times where I've turned the machine on and forgot only to remember 20 minutes later and it didn't taste burnt at all so extra credit there. Lastly I'll touch on the sneak a cup feature. Basically there is a spring loaded stopper that gets pushed up by the pot to allow the fluid in. As I learned when you pull out the pot it'll drip a bit and ends up on the warming plate and can be messy. Also, you only have a very short time to do this so have a cup ready before sneaking or else the chamber will fill up and the stopper will not hold that pressure. I got lucky once in that exact situation and as it started to stream out I was able to replace the pot to minimize the mess but just be aware. Overall definitely worth the money!

Worth the extra money
After owning an old black and decker 5 cup brewer for more than a decade I bought an amazon basic 5 cup brewer. Its not bad great for the price, until the caraffe broke while washing. Thin glass. So this time the B & D filled the role, price is almost double but so is the build quality and design. Still one button featureless but the overall design and brewing design is way better and its hot...good and hot. Not like the other 2 i had before. This one might actually last as long as the first one. Recommended.

No es una buena cafetera. No filtra bien el café y el sabor del buen café está sacrificado.
