After reading some of the negative comments on this item, I was hesitant in ordering, but very happy that I did. It works a treat, and I now have over 200 old slides, safely on my iPad. Dead easy to set up, couple of batteries, and click away, very happy

Tried a Pixel 7A and a Flip4. Wth new batteres the image was too bright for the flip 4, old batteries produced a poor quality and low resolution scan after cropping. Pixel 7A would not focus close enough so tried hand held, to no effect, useless! If there is a phone that works with it maybe OK but you would need to crop or zoom on the mobile thus ruining the quality and lowering the resolution. Good idea just doesnt work.

Works well, but could do with a way of fixing camera to device.

This is so simple to use Just place 2 aa batteries, extend the legs and place the phone camera on top. I used the kodak negatives app and I have restored and saved images Ive never seen before. So glad I bought it.

It arrives flat packed and require assembly and batteries, which was not a problem. Unfortunately the light box was broken from its mounts but was easy to fix. Used this for scanning negatives and I struggled. The focus distance always seemed to be incorrect and eventually I had to apply additional height or hold the phone above the light box. I tried 2 apps, Kodak Mobile Film Scanner and the app from the QR code. Both required a lot of patience to use but I did obtain images from the negatives.

The film scanner assembly fits together well, its sturdy and supports my phone. The 35mm slide fits snuggly into the recess in the base, and the LED light is bright. The big problem is that, at least for my ordinary smartphone, image of the slide covers only a small fraction of the screen. You can see in the photo that the image on phone is tiny. Its too far from the slide to capture it full size. So it has to be cropped and enlarged a lot. This makes it low quality, with poor resolution. The automatic exposure also cant do its job properly so the images are washed out. I downloaded the 'free app' from the QR code supplied, but it did nothing to improve the quality of the image captured. Pity. Its going back. I'm going to get my old projector and screen out and photograph my slides that on that screen.

Good product ideal for slides

I thought it was going to solve a lot of my issues identifying my old pre mobile phone camera/digital camera film negatives. Unfortunately despite downloading the App to work alongside this gadget, it doesn't work with my Iphone XL. So am trying to return it. Unfortunately North London seems to have a shortage of Amazon Return bags in the various Post Offices, so not been successful as of 20.11.2023. Not able to reach anyone at Amazon to complain - so this platform will have to do - sorry! Hopefully someone in Amazon will sort the Returns Bags at the Barnet Post Offices asap.
