Quick and easy to use and does a good job
I bought this to seal my single pair of birks back in May and never did it. Well, now I have 5 pairs of birks and finally used. I’m very pleased! I wasn’t sure what the consistency would be like and how far it would go for a single bottle, but after all 5 pairs, with some getting double coats, I still have more than half the bottle left, so it’ll go quite a while. My oldest pair of birks has moderate cork breakdown, but after applying a couple coats of this, I now feel much less like every step is just shedding cork—that is, the weak spots are all very secure now. There’s no smell, no color (it’s clear), and it goes a long way for the money. Attached is a pic of one of the pairs I sealed a few days ago. They look great!

Goes on nicely and dries well
Used for fishing rod handles. Goes on nicely and dries well. Clean the cork if needed and shake it well. Put on one light coating that covers all of the cork. Do not put on two coats or it will be sticky. I let it dry for 24-hours but it probably dried much faster than that. It says to recoat within 2 to 4 months if needed. By the feel of this stuff, I doubt that fishing rod handles would need a recoat this quickly. If used on cork shoes or something else, the flex of the shoe or sandal may necessitate a recoat that quickly. One note, cover everything that you don't want this to get on or wear a smock/apron. I got some on my pants and a t-shirt and I don't know what it will take to remove it. I sent an email to the company and am awaiting a response.

Perfect for my Birkenstocks - easy to use and instructions were perfect
Everything about this product was just what I needed. The price was appropriate and being able to seal the cork of my Birkenstocks absolutely extends their life. I was feeling frustrated about the cork being exposed and trying to find time to locate the right product in town. I was happy to find the option here and sealed the cork the same day that it arrived. I couldn't be happier.

Dries clear and works, but you may need multiple coats
I bought this for my wife's Birkenstocks and what I noticed right away is it goes on really thin and so I put two coats at least on her Birkenstocks and it doesn't really look like it's on there but it dries clear and I've since have done several of my fishing poles as well. The cork handles on my fishing poles but make sure you clean them real good first because you're going to seal all that dirt and grime in if you don't clean it first. Same thing with the shoes, but I'll try and follow up. As far as longevity and how well it holds up, I don't know. I haven't been able to determine that yet. I'll follow up with another review once I know more

NOT FOR FISHING RODS!!!
Absolutely the worst product I've ever purchased on Amazon...DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use this on cork handled fishing rods. It leaves handles slick and zero protection from the elements. Spent hours removing this gunk from several of my high dollar rods ended up ruining 2 of them. To say im disappointed would be a gross understatement.

Fishing rod (Fenwick) cork handle application. Did not result in satisfactory results.
Sealant was applied to cork handle of my fishing rod. The rod brand is a Fenwick. Upon opening there is a thin plastic wafer that affixed itself to the bottle rim. Initially I thought this was intentional to scrape off and reduce the load of sealant to brush since it was thick (i.e. Elmers glue). The instructions indicated applying a thin coat. I then determined that this wafer was not intended to control brush load and realized it was part of the cap (seal). Applying a thin coat was difficult, the brush is just too stiff (nylon) and worked more like...spatula / trowel. Application was rather uneven and thought it would self level. I let it set for 30 minutes and it was still tacky and figured I had better give it 24 hours. Next morning it was still tacky so I thought some radiant heat (sunlight) might help set / cure the sealant. I had it out for 8+ hours and made sure to turn the handle. The tackiness was slightly reduced and the finish was a bit rough. Figure I would use my leather gloves (pourous surface) and give it a rub down and it might improve the reduce tacky feel and improve finish. I will be returning to Amazon. I would recommend that the manufacturer consider: 1) titrate the sealant or recommend dilution ratio and use multiple application 2) recommend using a bristled brush or simply change the brush / cap stiffness Note: I would presume that the tackiness would naturally hold fine debris (dirt magnet) and the rough surface (increased surface area) would do add accumulation of same. Regardless, I presume the aforementioned is acceptable to most who use as a cork sealant(?) i.e. sandals. However, I hope that my recommendations can be reviewed and perhaps a change in consistency of sealant and brush change could be considered. In the meantime I will be looking for an alternative sealant. Thank You!

Great for Birks
Update: I got caught in a thunderstorm wearing my newly sealed Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. The leather upper and my feet were soaked but the cork layer remained dry. This works. Original Review: I purchased this Cadillac Cork Sealer to use on my Birkenstock sandals. I chose this product as it was recommended on a forum over the sealer kit sold by Birkenstock for the same purpose. I used vinegar to clean the cork, let it dry thoroughly and then applied the Cadillac Cork Sealer. This was easy to apply. It goes on white and dries clear and shiny. It's similar in consistency to Elmer's white glue. This darkened the cork and made it shiny, but not obnoxiously so. I'm very happy with this product.

Container not filled adequately!!
Product seems to revitalize cork nicely. Does not take overly long to dry. However, for the price which is expensive, I would expect that the container be filled to a reasonable level, which it is not. I tried to take a picture to show what I’m referring to however, it’s hard to demonstrate. If you look past the neck of the container, you can see that the product doesn’t start until much further below.

So bad
This is the worst by far that I have ever used. There was no seal on the bottle and what was inside was like water. I applied 2 coats and I tell you this had to be water in the bottle not Cork sealer.
