He is very passionate about van life and speaks from a position of experience. I can't think of anything he left out. I'm hoping to get my hands on his other book - "From Vs to Home" - and read it, too. 2 years 9 months & counting till Van Life! Pretty good book, but NOT the one on how to convert a van
Not how to set up your van, but some good stuff about living in it and traveling around the world. Matt is funny and has a lot of insight into why live in a van, how to quit your job and how to make money on the road (kind of sketchy details, but you have to follow your own path).

Your Guide for Taking the Leap - well-written, encouraging and practical tips and strategies
Mike's writing style makes it easy to imagine taking the next step toward any goal you have. I've read both his books even though my goal isn't to live in a van, ...but it does involve ditching the traditional way of living for something which suits me better. His practical philosophy and implementable tips and strategies lend themselves to other goals well. I hope my kids each read his book and follow his blog. They will understand me even better, and will be further encouraged to follow their own path.

An amazing book
Absolutely love this book, I havenโt finished it yet but only got two more chapters left and it has already helped me fully commit to doing the van life. My boyfriend and I have picked our set off date and this book was a huge help to get past the things I was worried about. So now itโs time to save for that van and get converting so we can get on the road!

If you are considering, or are, on the road, this is a must have...
This is an exceptional book.. From making the decision to hit the road, what is needed for success and comfort while full time van dwelling, and informing his readers of the proโs and conโs of, seemingly, all considerations, he has produced a book that is well written and a joy to read!!

Informative, inspiring and down to earth
As a 66 year old female, Iโve had my van for about 8 months. A low roof 2017 ford transit extra long body. It took me a while to insulate and panel the inside and it doesnโt look all that great but itโs got me out of my rut. I have solar, a bed and a portapotty. What else could one want. Iโve already crossed the USA once with snow storms behind me all the way and canโt wait to do it again. Thanks for the extra encouragement

Superb perspective on life as well as van-living
Entertaining, multi-skilled Mike has thought of everything you could possibly want to know in this thought-provoking, practical guide to campervan living. The other reviews cover very well his easy style and attention to detail, and what I'd add is that this book, and the first few chapters in particular, offers thoughtful and valuable perspective on why we choose to live the lives we lead and the excuses we often make not to live more fulfilling lives. He explores encouragingly what we might gain if we made some unconventional changes and stopped worrying about what everyone else thinks. It's a great book about life choices and the fact that it contains an amusing, detailed but always pacy guide to living in a van is just a huge bonus! Anyone who feels a bit stuck should read this just to shift their mindset, whether they're thinking of getting a van or not. A brilliant read.

Useful for people who are thinking about buying a van
This book is interesting and a pleasure to read, I read it from cover to cover as soon as it arrived. The honest, practical advice makes this sound like a great way of life while being realistic about the down sides. The book has actually made me think twice about getting a van of my own...which is a bit disappointing but much better than making an expensive mistake!!!
