The Motivation & Tools to Get Started
Personal Finance Workbook for Beginners does a great job of not just giving you worksheets and quizzes to get you started, but it truly gives you the framework behind it to understand why they are having you complete certain exercises. It provides insight into the math of a multitude of different financial cornerstones, but also goes into building your relationship with money and the values you hold. Each section has a foundational lesson, a relatable story of people of various backgrounds relevant to the chapter's topic, a myth busting section, then an exercise for you to apply your new lessons to. The book is well laid out and also graphically pleasing which is always a nice bonus. Some of the core elements covered are about making sure you know finances are personal and should be adapted to your life, dealing with debt, employment beyond just a salary, housing (buying & renting), retirement plans, & investing in general. The exercises in each section are well thought out and vary across different formats to keep them interesting. There would be value in returning to them months or years after getting started. In the back of the book, they did a great job of listing valuable resources such as other book recommendations, websites, apps, and even podcasts to continue your finance journey even further after you get started. They list a multitude of studies and publications that they referenced throughout the book which is good if you want to dive in deeper. There is also a thorough index in the back, so if you need a refresher on a certain topic, you can quickly find exactly what page to refer to.Overall, definitely would recommend to someone looking to start their journey into personal finance. This is the 3rd book I've read from these authors. Personally paid for two and felt they were worth every dollar. Gratefully for this one, I was provided with an advance copy by the publisher after recommending the authors' other books so often in finance groups. No longer do people have an excuse saying they are bad with money when this book can help them put in the effort to become more knowledgeable, as well as comfortable with managing their finances from budgeting to investing through these thoughtful lessons and exercises.

Great Start for Beginners - Take Your Time with Each Worksheet
The "Personal Finance Workbook for Beginners" is exactly as the title suggests. This is a book for folks new to personal finance, but more than that, it is a workbook. The target for this book is adults, though the authors' do have a book targeted toward younger readers if you're so inclined. It's targeted at adults because they expect you to be able to list out your expenses, your near and long term goals, etc. Most kids and even teens wouldn't really have a strong perspective on topics like these yet. Each chapter is short and easy to read. Throughout the book you are given worksheet tasks to complete which relate to the chapter at hand. My suggestion is that you do not attempt to blow through this book. Take it slowly, and read and consider each chapter thoroughly. That is how you'll best make use of the guidance it provides. If you have a partner or someone else who you share finances with, it might be great to both read each chapter and work together on some of the worksheets. The only downside is that the chapters are so brief and beginner friendly that I was left wanting a bit more insight beyond what was available. This is truly a book for beginners so those in the middle are perhaps already past needing this exact book to help them on their financial journey. Overall though, this is a great title to give to anyone who is curious about making smart moves with their finances.

The Ultimate User-friendly finance story
This book came into my life at the perfect time; after COVID I made a job switch, and took stock of my financial picture, something I had been avoiding because it's scary and I've told myself it's too complicated and financial advisors are for rich people and I'll never be rich and I'll never save enough and it's too late, I've messed up beyond repair, and a bunch of other nonsense that is typical for many of us. With this workbook, first I READ. Just read, took in the information and made up my mind to "adult" my finances, now or never. Page by page, it became easier to breath and think rationally about money, and to "start where I am", without any baggage! This book is for US, working people, and is so much more than a balance sheet for numbers, this is a book about how to THINK about money. It's got usable advice, real explanations for things that a beginner mind can grasp. The "oh, NOW I get it" moments are frequent! I felt so much calmer after reading the first few pages, I literally became excited about doing the work, taking the next steps. I, like so many others, am working a job that's not the most inspiring. But I have goals and dreams and plans beyond just grinding through to the next paycheck. With this book, I feel it's ok to plan, in fact it's IMPORTANT to have goals beyond the survival. I highly recommend this book for anyone, I would love to see a copy in the hands of every high school senior. Get your copy, no matter where in your financial life you are, you will be very glad you did!
